Just please the bathroom so that an adult can use it comfortably. Remove the bathtub and rearrange the bathroom.

The house was very tired for us and very old furniture in it. For the price we paid compared to other places in the area we expected a little more. Refrigerator door did not work. Bathroom was not clean, and the floor is also loose in the shower. No towels, no salt or pepper, or even a little coffee in the cottage. Very small for 5 people. The piece of grass in front of the house is also very neglected.
The only thing that I wasn't pleased about was that I paid for cleaning, yet there is a sign stating no dirty dishes to be left behind, I would recommend that they remove that and have someone come in when you leave to do it immediately.
Was very skeptical before going, but the place was very lovely and cosy and we had an amazing time. Will definitely book again.

Just a little dissatisfied with our arrival, we had to search for the contact person for about 45 minutes, until we came across the cleaning lady in the area, because we were not informed or approached regarding the key and could not find anyone who was referred as a person in don't get your hands on it.

Nice close to the sea for fishing. All basic amenities are there, we lacked nothing.
The cottage is by the sea and so convenient for walking purposes. The village is very small with little to do, but if you need tranquility, as well as everything in the house, then @ The Whales is the place.
We have a 2 year old boy, and had to keep the sliding door closed all the time to keep him out of the way. A railing with a gate on the porch would definitely have helped, so we could keep the sliding door open. Maybe also just a cherry in the cupboard for unexpected load shedding. The radio doesn't work, aerial is off, and the CD player only plays the first song halfway through, then stops. Maybe they can also set up a small table next to the braai on the grill for when you pack meat and spices. There is also no breadboard. The barbecue has a hole in it, so the sauce from the meat runs out. Hope the tips help.
Nevertheless, we would like to use Witsand's accommodation again, if we can find a bigger house for a group of 6 - 8. Witsand is also a pleasant place for holidays, breaks for relaxation and stress relief. The people are also very friendly and helpful. Will definitely recommend it to others.
Very nice visit.
We feel the accommodation can be upgraded and the cleanliness needs to be addressed. There were old spider webs on the walls and fans, all the drawers and cupboards had dirt in from previous visitors. The fridge could have been switched on prior to us getting there as a result of it not being switched on it took 2 days to get it to a reasonable working temp. A few extra rolls of toilet paper and a couple of black bags would also have been appreciated.

The cottage is very small. Bedrooms just big enough for a bed, bathroom also very small. Living area is reasonable. No outdoor area as shown in photos - it looks like a house has recently been built on the grassy area where you could braai. You only have a small patio with parking parallel to the house. The location is good, walking distance from the sea. We left one day earlier because we were not 100% comfortable in the house. I suggest the owners only update the photos to avoid disappointment.

The place was really nicely furnished, everything we needed was there. Only one thing that really scared me was that suddenly a pig dog came running across the road and my son was playing outside and the dog bit our beach ball to pieces, this while the rules of the neighborhood say that dogs are not allowed and if there are dogs they must be leashed. Other than that, everything was fantastic and with the house itself I have no complaints! Thank you very much Whales.

We had a lovely stay at The Whales but find the bedrooms and bathroom very small. There is no place to put a suitcase down, because then you literally have to climb over it. The bathroom is also particularly cramped. I would advise that only 4 people use the place, and use extra room as storage space for bags on a weekend or long weekend like us. Furthermore, the place has everything you need, and Duinepark remains a lovely location.
It was our wedding anniversary and we really enjoyed the tranquility, especially as both of us have a busy 2017 behind us. Coming from Kraaifontein and the Cape, the safety of Duinepark was fantastic and we really enjoyed ourselves. My husband had a great time fishing, and it was the highlight of our stay. Thank you.

Owner responded to poor TV reception by buying a new one. We were disappointed as pictures gave the impression of a bigger cottage and implied a sea view. 50 meters from the sea with picture of bench with sea.

Definitely not for people who fly in. The fact that towels are not provided and that you have to bring your own decoder with, makes it unacceptable for people who can't come with half of their home. Came from abroad. Don't own a decoder. Had to buy towels. There wasn't even a wine opener. Definitely won't recommend to people visiting from far. Were however very friendly received.
The accommodation doesn't live up to the description and photographs provided on the web site. The following was noted: 1) The stove is not compatible with the operations required, only one plate works with the oven at a time or all three plates without the oven but not all together. 2) Bedding not conducive with weather conditions, no sheets provided only a Duvet. 3) Lounge furniture is extremely uncomfortable. 4) Insufficient kitchen utensils, no salad spoons, etc. 5)Toaster doesn't work as it should and one has to hold the lever down, this could become extremely dangerous to the user. 6)Live electrical power point in the bathroom next to the wash hand basin, not acceptable, could lead to possible electrocution. 7) Pots and pans are old and dilapidated and in an unacceptable condition.
This was such a disappointment. We paid for 7 days, but only stayed over for 1. It didn't look like the photos - a huge misrepresentation. It was a dark house and very small. There is nowhere to sit, the sofa and the chair in the lounge is so hard, uncomfortable, old and gross. The door of one of the wardrobes is broken, the toaster didn't work, the kitchen utensils are old, the bedlamps don't work. The main bedroom is small and dark with a horrible bed that is extremely uncomfortable. There are plastic sheets covering the cupboards. The shower is full of mildew. This place doesn't make you feel welcome at all. A rather depressing old place filled with old furniture and kitchen utensils.
We were very impressed by the excellent professional way our accommodation was arranged. My kids entjoyed themselves and we got some rest. We are already planning our next getaway!

The reception, guidance and accommodation went smoothly. It was a pleasant experience.
We are a family of 4 with 1 small child and found the accommodation a bit small (we are meat eaters) for the 5 of us. Other than that the service was decent. The unit was acceptable, security is very good and we had a very nice and peaceful stay. There is no noise and no unwelcome guests: just the sound of the sea in the background.
We enjoyed being there. Was a bit disappointed with where the house was situated. We thought it was sea-facing. The website suggests that the house is sea-facing. I also phoned to confirm this. I think that the website should be a bit more specific regarding the positioning of the house.
