It was the most incredible 2 day stay.
I chose accommodation where there were 2 rooms in the unit, however the one room in the unit was locked on arrival (so only one double bed available). Owner was contacted and she came to unlock it and get it ready for us. There were brand new towels in the bathroom that hadn't been washed before so they didn't dry off. Out of the 4 pillows on the bed, only 2 are usable. The fan in the second room was broken (it could blow, but the head was 'broken off'). The accommodation is spotless and very tidy. Just a few suggestions: A small table and chairs in the room where the kitchen is (difficult to sit on the bed and eat and drink). There was only coffee in the room (maybe a tea bag or 2 for those who don't drink coffee).
Accommodation was fantastic and peaceful.

When you walk in you are greeted by a lovely friendly hostess. It is quiet and peaceful it feels like you are in your own home. Everything is comfortable and there is no disturbance. I will definitely go again.
Got a welcome reception. Very nice stay. Cleanliness, very clean and the room is well appointed and felt very safe.
We chose to book there again 2 nights after the first visit because what we got was spotlessly clean and tidy. Friendly service. We could have looked for a guest house in Cape Town itself, but it was too neat and we were afraid we wouldn't find such a place again. Everything was new and we were the first guests.

The unit was very neat, clean and would recommend it. The location was very well located from the reception. Will definitely use 105 Sarel on Cilliers again.
For a start, there are no chairs in the room and only one tiny occasional table. This means that there is nowhere to put anything or sit down to have a meal. There is more than enough space in the room to accommodate a table and two chairs. There were several other issues: 1. The electric kettle was faulty - did not work at all. 2. There was no hot water in the shower. 3. The room needs thicker curtains or block-out lining of sorts, as there was so much light coming into the room that it disturbed our sleep. 4. There was no information regarding how to use the TV i. e. how to log-in to the various channels. It is not sufficient to assume that everyone is au fait with the system installed at 105 on Sarel Cilliers. 5. We never met any of our hosts. The key was in a drop-box; we let ourselves in and left the key in the drop-box the next morning. Very impersonal. That is fine for locals staying overnight but not good enough for visitors (overseas or SA visitors from other parts of the country) who might have needed a bit of assistance. I have answered No to the question regarding recommending 105 on Sarel Cilliers for the reasons given above. However, if these issues are addressed (they are actually no-brainers) in particular the issues of lack of furniture, faulty appliances, no hot water etc. etc., then I believe this would be a very comfortable place to stay. Unfortunately, when such basic things are lacking, coupled with the fact that we never saw anyone, it beggars the question - when last did the owner actually give the place a once-over and to what extent are they committed to good service, or is this just a means of exploiting visitors for maximum return with minimal effort?
Everything was clean - you could tell it had been recently redone. Beds were comfortable and enough coffee/sugar (also diabetic sweeteners, thank you very much!) for about 2 days for 3 people, but it is a self-catering unit, so bring enough of your own - maybe for a longer stay. Just note that the kitchenette is in the "master bedroom" and therefore not very suitable for "big" cooking sessions. Recommend that maybe just add a small table and a bar stool or three which would be a fantastic extension. You have to sit on the bed and eat/drink (good luck with the next guest who might spill a cup of coffee or a glass of red wine on the mattress.
The rooms were neat and tidy. Did not like the kitchen in the bedroom though. There was no table to sit and eat and no housekeeping.
I have to say that 105 on Sarel Cilliers was definitely worth our overnight booking. We felt safe and definitely welcome.
