The accommodation was neat, safe and very pleasant. All the necessary information regarding the gate code, keys etc. was sent to us before we arrived. Everything was just so well arranged.

Our unit was very clean and comfortable. Communication from the owners was very good. We were booked into the unit for 14 days and never felt it was too small or uncomfortable. Security is very good in the complex. Nice walking distance to the beach. We really enjoyed it.

Unit well appointed and value for money. Front door swollen that he struggles to open. The staff who deal with clients about keys etc. can feel free to work on their human relations. Difficult to communicate with people who struggle to even speak English.

Everything that one needed was available, gas braai on the balcony, washing machine and tumble dryer in the kitchen, bath and shower, and ample cupboard space. We enjoyed the pool in the evening, the water was a good temperature. The shopping mall is just around the corner.

Mats before bed will be pleasant especially during winter. Duvet was thin. Blanket would have helped. Would have been freezing if it wasn't for the electric blanket. Nevertheless, I would recommend this apartment. Will probably be deliciously cool in the summer. Linens can be customized.

I always enjoy staying at Portobelo, with this unit there were a few things that was not up to standard like the toilet pot couldn't flush, my kids had to do it manually every time by removing the toilet lid, some of the glasses were cracked, spider webs were hanging from the roof in the kitchen. They definitely needs to upgrade their cutlery and crockery. They must also get a new bin in the kitchen. The apartment had no ceiling fans and it was so hot during the night. Other than that everything was perfect, the safety and security as well as the pool facility. My kids really enjoyed the swimming pool. Many thanks, I will definitely book again at Portobelo.

The accommodation was very nice, the only no-go was access to the swimming pool, it was locked up. Braai facilities were gas, I prefer a fire, but you can't get everything your way. Thank you, and it was affordable.

Accommodation was centrally located, walking distance from the beach. Tree that was in front of our patio view was not very nice. It obscures the view. As most places are not build for wheelchairs this place is also not, but there were enough space to manoeuvre our chairs in. The bathrooms are not wheelchair friendly but we could managed. Maybe a suggestion to remove the carpets and tile the floors as it is quite difficult to move on carpets with a wheelchair. Other than that we had a great time.

1. Guest relations. We were never met by the owner, hence she had no idea whether we were travelling colleagues or opposite sex friends. On arrival we found the one room to be locked. When she was questioned with this regard we were told that she is in the business of selling beds and seeing that we are only 2 people we are not allowed to use the other room. We were on a road trip and had so much luggage that we could not fit at all into the one bedroom and had to store it in the living room due to the other room being locked. Question: If we were travelling colleagues, would we be expected to share a double bed. Would we be expected to share a room with 2 single beds seeing that one of the rooms would be locked? On the website it was advertised as a 2 bedroom apartment and nowhere was it stated that one room would be locked if only 2 guests occupied the premises. On questioning the owner on the above we were told that if the above was true we would have had to share the room.with the 2 single beds. This is totally unacceptable. Hygiene: The kitchen cupboards reeks of mildew and so we had to wash everything before it was used. The next morning we were riddled with bed lice bites. We want to make it very clear that there were no mosquitoes. Lastly, we checked out the very next morning, cutting our stay there, which we had already paid for by a day. We will hence never use this accommodation again!
