It was too cold to fish or swim, but I can only imagine how lovely it will be during the summer months. Beautiful and tranquil destination. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly. Just a pity the shop on site was closed for the weekend, but it was just a short drive to town. Otherwise, I would highly recommend this property. Cosy and clean. My kids didn't even miss the TV. WiFi would have been a bonus.

From the main road it is very beautiful, the landscape is small town, with beautiful mountains. It's a left right after the gate, I noted in my GPS the point exactly where the map showed it. Because in the resort the numbers are pretty clear but the streets can be a bumpy road. Furthermore, the nature is so beautiful, the lake excellent for walking and taking pictures. The house is well equipped, here and there is a school of how the lock works, geyser and alarm system. We had a nice stay even though the winds were blowing over 30km/h, the house was in good shape, nice porch with Weber braai and home facilities, we would easily be able to rest there for 2 weeks. Thank you for everything.

Clean, tidy, peaceful place. Everything we needed was there. A better braai would be a bonus, would prefer built in braai to the Weber that was supplied. We will come again!

A really cosy and clean, modern house. Our kids loved it. We didn't miss the wifi or TV. Took a laptop with movies and encouraged them to do things outside. We had no problems with the hot water and the place was clean when we arrived. Will definitely visit again.

Clean bed linen and towels were provided. Was an easy setup and nice to hang out with pals! Not bothered about rooms, we're just looking for a nice braai area and kitchen! Geyser was hot at all times which is convenient. Would rather choose built braai than Weber which was provided but was still nice.

Had a problem booking the place initially. The place was spacious and clean and cute. Good location but wasn't on the water as portrayed in the pics. You can't see the lake even from the bedroom windows since there's a tree in the way. There were tons of paraffin lamps with no paraffin in them and we couldn't find the light we were told was there, luckily we brought our own with us. There was 1 drinking glass that was cracked and 3 wine glasses, 1 of each size with a great number of coffee mugs. The kitchen sink was blocked soon after we arrived but that was sorted. Overall a relaxing stay.

The accommodation did not reflect what was displayed on the pictures on the website. One of the single beds was broken. There was no WiFi, TV, milk, coffee, or sugar. The beds were clean but not properly made.

It is a very nice place, but they need to inform you there is no TV. I know it's a place to relax. They must also leave instructions for the stove, and some of the kitchen stuff they must replace.

I was pleasantly surprised with the area and the beautiful accommodation. Everything was tidy and beds comfortable and no problem with hot water. We had a nice walk to the lake and sea and enjoyed the silence and natural beauty. Definitely a must for a quiet weekend away. A better barbecue would be a bonus.

When we arrived in the pouring rain, we were unable to get in - tried to reach the owner for the access code and the phone was off. We eventually got into the place and it was a complete mess. Sheets and towels everywhere, ironing board and iron out. Toilets were filthy, stains on the pillow, stove doesn’t work (countertop stove) - the place clearly was not ready for guests. There was even a mop hanging in the tree outside and a broken broom for sweeping. Absolutely shocking service. The pictures of the place are deceiving and we were so let down. Totally disappointed.

This is definitely value for money. The unit is equipped with everything you need. My only complaints are that the Weber supplied needs to be repaired or replaced and the geyser sorted out as there were times with no hot water.

Lots for kids to do. Tennis, swimming, long walks on an in the lagoon. My kids loved that. Smaller towns are close by to explore.

The cottage was very nicely kitted out, relaxing and very clean and tidy. The only recommendations we had was that maybe a fan could be provided and the entry might be 14:00 instead of 15:00. And maybe a braai grid and braai tongs be provided, we were told to bring our own. Otherwise we were more than happy with the accommodation and stay and will definitely like to do it again in future.

What a fantastic cottage for a mini holiday. We urgently needed rest and the place gave it to us. Safe, quiet, activities to do, wild horses and sea. Feel free to book the cottage, children will enjoy it too. It's nice and clean and everything you need. Close to shopping center and yet far enough that you don't hear vehicles. A piece of gold. Will stay here again.

A cosy accommodation in a beautiful location setting. The trip felt like just walking in to a second home and all equipment readily available. Even after just a couple of days, it was difficult having to let go as everything was just so comfortable. The house is clean and well equipped. The place is particularly beautiful by the lagoon and the sea. Hermanus is close by and the surroundings are beautiful. We enjoyed it very much. I was there with my husband (from Holland) and our son, his wife and a small baby (from Cape Town). However, I have 2 things that were not right. We have had no hot water since Sunday. We could still shower, but the water was actually too cold. For washing dishes we used the kettle. Monday morning the water was just cold. It was a cold weekend and the fireplace's gas cylinder was empty. My husband had to drive to Hermanus to have the flask filled. It took more than 2 hours and it cost R200. People who come to us are lucky with that, but I don't think it's quite right.

It is a very nice place if you want peace and quietness. No TV so you have to speak to each other, which is a good thing.

The house is lovely and would recommend the house, but the area and reserve seems "unused" and not very active/visited anymore. Some of the houses and boating have seen better days. Even some of the fancy houses had roof tiles coming loose. Was only about 50 - 60% full on a long weekend apart from the retired folk that stay there. We only noted 5 flamingos and no horses in the area (we drove through Fisherhaven and the reserve, also walked to beach and back across the lagoons edge a few times over the days). Never noted anyone fishing (even in Fisherhaven). Noted on a couple of forums that the lagoon is actually over-fished from the locals already. There was a dead goat on the lagoon edge as you walk down the path to the lagoon (meerkat paadjie). I recon only we noted it as we never saw anyone else at the lagoon except once (in 3 days). The first morning the water was cold as in we couldn't even shower or wash dishes. I found a control panel for the geyser and it was turned down - I turned it up as we couldn't even wash the dishes, never mind shower. Some of the sites show a pool table, this is in the community hall and not in the house! Overall - The house is great, the reserve seems a bit exhausted and don't see much people anymore. Great for a quiet getaway and some basic sight seeing - but take stuff with to keep you busy if you are planning on staying a few days unless you are willing to drive to other places.
