The kitchen is open-plan to the living area and is well-equipped with a fridge-freezer, microwave, oven, stove, dishwasher, cutlery, crockery, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. The living area includes a breakfast bar, a TV, and comfortable couches.
The living room offers access to a garden with lovely sea views via the sliding door. There is a communal swimming pool that is only used by the complex's residents, as well as a laundry room. Complimentary Wi-Fi and secure parking are available to guests during their stay.

Plus point was: Convenient braai place right on the front porch of the apartment. Lots of space and a nice place to hang out.
Beautiful place. Well located. Nice clean and neat. Just suggest that the braai area should be considered for erecting roofs. It was very hot without sufficient shade and with rain also a problem, but we could manage. Otherwise very nice and will go again.
The unit is beautiful and very nice with everything you need. Great comfort and no complaints. Friendly and helpful agent who welcomed us to the unit. Would definitely recommend 13 The Shades for a luxury treat.
Close to all the tourist attractions in Umhlanga. Beautiful rooms!
We had a wonderful stay and the place was very nice, clean and tidy. Bedrooms are beautifully furnished, but a bit cramped (if you open a cupboard door for example, you block the access for someone to move past as the cupboard door opens against the bed). The rest of the unit is beautiful and comfortable. The only addition they can make is that the cleaning lady, according to the note left, did not wash the dishes (pots and pans)? Wow, at the premium you pay per day, I thought 'cleaning' the unit included 'all' cleaning? There is a dishwasher, but pots and pans cannot be put in. I think it will provide just that extra touch for vacationers as everyone comes to rest and again at least pay a reasonable amount per day for the unit. Also, we already moved out of the unit on the 26th of December, today is the 6th of January and our key deposit has not been refunded and we have not been contacted at all if anything was wrong? The agent has my email address and cell number. I sent him a text message when we went out, to which he replied. Which means he received my message.
