Due to my brother's sudden death, I could no longer travel myself, but my son thoroughly enjoyed the stay. It's a beautiful place.

Location is very good. We were spoilt with champagne and chocolates for our anniversary. Could use updating and maintenance. Curtains needed in the bathroom and kitchen for privacy from other guests.

Our getaway weekend was delightfully peaceful. With the sound of the waves on our front porch, beautiful sunsets that we could admire from the porch. All amenities we need. Couldn't have asked for more. There are of course other places that are more modern, but this unit was just what we needed. We will come again.

Rooms have a beautiful view of the sea. Our room's air conditioner was located in the kitchen, so the room did not get cold enough. Was an uncomfortably hot night. Glad we only booked 1 night.
Owner does not know anything about professionalism. She does not know how to communicate with individuals. Her wording she uses in order to approach is terrible. And we will not suggest this place to anyone.
Right on the beach and very peaceful, well relaxing. Friendly hostess and gentleman and tidy house. Recommend that you book two rooms instead if you are on holiday with family.
The owner Santie is incredibly helpful and goes out of her way to make guests feel welcome and happy. Will never stay anywhere else again.

It was very neat and clean. We were welcomed very kindly. There was no sea view and no secure parking as I asked when I made my reservation.

We loved our 1 night stay at 14 Penguin Place, the room was clean and nicely made up and the kitchen is very cute and compact, perfect for a holiday stay and had everything we needed. Santie was quick on the ball when we had a question with regards to the swimming pool (which is not included in your stay, although it looks like it from the pictures) and did allow us to make use of it. With the help of Ronnie (the owner) opening the pool for us, we had a great time and we appreciate it very much. We will def be back and would like to bring some of our friends.
My only complaint was that other guests in the unit had access to the kitchen and toilet that belonged to this specific unit. There is no control to avoid other guests to enter this specific unit.
We had a very nice stay. The rooms are large enough that you have space for your luggage. The kitchen has everything to prepare your own food. Businesses are only a short distance away and the sea just outside the garden gate! Thank you very much, Santie.
The unit is advertised as a Tripple Delux Unit for 4 people. However, the bathroom and bedroom are one room, with no living room. There is no privacy - we have indicated the ages of our teenagers. There is also no space to e.g. watching TV other than sitting on the bed. The aircon did not work and no explanation was given for it.

Even though there was miss communication on certain things, Santie handled everything with so much grace. This woman was born to host guests, she is the best ever. We were accommodated to the point where I actually felt spoilt. Crisp bedding, immaculate cleanliness. The best stay ever. We will sure be back soon.

We brought the wiring of the kitchen to the owner's attention. This can be dangerous as so many electrical wires and cables are added to the "plugs".

Beautiful views of the sea and friendly reception. The photos on the website and the reality are far removed from one another. No mention was made in the advertisement that access to the units is through the house (laundry) is not, nor that other guests are moving in and out of the accommodation units - no privacy. The unit has too many beds and furniture and is very cramped. Mattresses' springs stick in your back and had to be replaced long ago. Maintenance not standard eg. sink drainage pipe runs out into the shower.

Aunt Santie is the most lovely and hospitable woman on earth and really goes the extra mile for her guests. It's a peaceful and soul-fulfilling environment to just get renewed strength.

Everything about the guesthouse is great. It's like your own little apartment. The hostess is very friendly and does not bother every 5 minutes. It's truly on the beach and peaceful. Here you can rest in peace with your own barbecue.
Santie Loubser truly made us feel like family upon our arrival. The room we booked was "a room with a view". It is just like on the site page, stunning. It felt like a second honeymoon just to be able to get up and walk directly from the room to the beach. The price is reasonable and the room decor appropriate for the price. My short stay at 14 Penguin Place was exactly what I needed. Room with the most ideal sea view, on the beac, small en-suite bathroom (standing and sit shower and a bath). Plus a kitchenette (with complimentary cereal, coffee, milk and juice). The hosts were friendly and down to earth. I recommend this 14 Penguin Place to any couple or single person (on a budget) for a weekend at the sea. It was lovely!
Was baie vriendelik ontvang deur eienaars waarby hulle ons (my man en 7 jarige) na ons verblyf heen begelei het. Toegang to die verblyf vorm deel van eienaar se huis - sou verkies vir 'n afsonderlike toegang. Die uitleg van die verblyf was ongemaklik. Een groot pluspunt van die verblyf is dat dit reg op die strand is.
We enjoyed the sunset from the veranda in front of our room, Long walks on Melkbosstrand with our two Yorkies were unforgettable. Unfortunately, the overall impression of 14 Penguin Place is that it is neglected and not properly maintained. It also creates a "patch patch impression". But despite that, our weekend stay was wonderful. Would we stay there again? Probably because it would be hard to find another place with the same location and price range that is pet friendly.
