166 Cradock Street is a large, well-appointed classic Karoo-house, and is also a national monument. The cottage is situated in Graaff-Reinet's famous and historic Cradock Street, within short walking distance from several restaurants and museums. This is an ideal and comfortable base from which to explore the town.

The house comprises 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a combined kitchen and breakfast room, a separate lounge area, and a large dining room. There are rare and interesting antique Cape Dutch features to the house, such as built-in wall cupboards with yellowwood and stinkwood doors, as well as yellowwood room doors, bamboo reed ceilings, and antique light fittings. There are also some classic antique furniture items and prints.

The first bedroom contains a double bed and an en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom contains twin single beds, and the third small room, which is suitable for children, contains twin single beds. These two rooms share a second bathroom with a shower only.

The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering. The dining room features an 8-seater dining table and chairs. Outside, there is a lovely shaded and security-beamed patio, under an ancient vine, with a dining table and chairs and braai facilities. There is also a large walled garden with views of the mountains surrounding Graaff-Reinet.
