The complex has communal outdoor braai facilities and a secure covered parking area behind a remote access-controlled gate.
The apartment is on the 3rd floor and only accessible by steps, and guests are requested to take note that there is no lift available, therefore not ideally suitable if guests have difficulty climbing steps.
Gonubie and the surrounding offer scenic walks, beautiful ocean and lagoon views, a wide range of water sports such as river and rock fishing, surfing, paddling, and boating can be enjoyed in the ocean or lagoon while land-based activities include game reserves, lion and snake park, birdwatching, quad biking, hiking, picnics, golf and browsing local restaurants, shopping centers, farmer's markets and much more.

Manager went out of his way to make us feel right at home. The apartment is modern and tasteful with everything you need, including a fully equipped kitchen. The main bedroom has a stunning sea view and also opens onto the balcony, where there is seating and a gas braai. The wide view is breathtakingly beautiful, and the sunrises are picture perfect. We never got around to going fishing.

18 Coogee Bay Beachfront Apartment is perfectly located for any occasion. Walking distance from the beach, restaurant and also shopping centers. The host and hostess made East London very enjoyable for us by introducing us to different activities to keep us entertained. We would love to visit there again!
Peaceful and relaxing.
Excellent location. Host was kind and very helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. One thing to remember, the flat is on the third floor, very safe and great view but there is no lift. For us, not a problem as Greg was always ready to help.

Nice close to the beach, with children could easily get from the apartment to the sea. Place was well appointed and the owner was really very nice. If it rained we could still experience the sea from our balcony. Will definitely go again.
Our visit was remarkable. Greg's knowledge of the area and what was going on certainly contributed to that. We only got time for half of his list, but every stop was a winner. We will use their place again.
The unit was advertised as having an inverter that keeps the lights, TV and WiFi on during load shedding. Unfortunately it didn't work and we weren't notified beforehand. Would not have gone home if we had known that inverter was not working because there was 3 hours load shedding 2 times daily, total 6 hours per day without power. No lights, TV, WiFi, coffee or cooking was then possible.
Greg was very friendly and welcoming. Always responded quickly to messages and made sure we were comfortable.
Highly recommendable. This place is just perfect. The apartment has everything you need to make your stay comfortable. Very close to the beach - so we would get up and check the conditions while drinking coffee on the balcony. If it was beach weather, it is a short walk to get on the beach. For days when it was a bit windy there was plenty to keep kids entertained - board games or Wi-Fi kept them occupied until it was time to return to the beach. Lovely restaurant a short walk away for lunch. Greg is an amazing host - assisted us with everything we needed. We will definitely be back!
We had such a nice stay. Very conveniently close to the beach and tidal pool.
Greg was extremely helpful and accommodating. We arrived late due to having some car problems and Greg welcomed us with a smile and even offered for us to stay a bit longer in order for us to sort out our car issues. It is really rare that you find someone as nice as Greg. Thank you again, Greg, for the amazing time we had. I think we have found our official holiday home whenever we visit family again in East London. Keep up the great work Greg.

This unit's location is perfectly located with beautiful views of the sea, which is only a few steps away. Very clean and well equipped apartment on the top floor. Disabled and elderly people should note the few sets of stairs to the entrance of no 18, but for us the beautiful views, good quality linen and tasteful decor were more important than a few sets of stairs. Secure undercover parking was available on site for our vehicle. The site's access is controlled by a remote-controlled gate. Communication and information provided by Greg was more than adequate and response to any queries was quick. The gas grill on the balcony worked well, as did the dishwasher and full size fridge/freezer. Even the bed in the bedroom was very comfortable, something that is not so common in accommodation. The children enjoyed the complimentary cookies and crackers. Thank you very much Greg and Marike for a very pleasant stay in your apartment.
Hammock on the porch while the sun rises over the sea. Medicine for the soul! We were lucky, the first morning there were whales in the bay. Greg (owner) is friendly and very helpful, real good people. Internet, large TV, gas grill, space for a laptop, limited power during load shedding. I had a great time at home and would definitely recommend them.
The view and the sea so close is an unforgettable experience! Very nice close to the beach and lagoon and can have a nice walk along the coast! Nice places to eat within walking distance!
Die view was great met die see, die eenheid baie skoon en goed toegerus. Greg was baie hulpsaam met die 2 weeke wat ons daar gebly het, sal definitief weer daar boek.

The apartment is a strictly non smoking apartment. No smoking is allowed inside the apartment or outside on the balcony or entrance/passageway.There is a washing machine and dryer, no washing is allowed to be hung on the balcony to dry.
Use of the swing hammock is at its own risk.
No loud music or loud parties are allowed in order to respect other residents.
Use of the electricity backup inverter for load shedding is for use on low voltage items only such as laptops, cell phones, lights, etc. No high-voltage items such as kettles, fans, etc can be used and we will not be held liable for any damage to appliances for incorrect use. The inverter's batteries should last about 4-5 hours depending on the consumption, but unfortunately cannot be used for high-voltage appliances including the kettle, cooking, and hair dryers.
Additional cleaning can be arranged at prior notice for R100 per half day (weekends and public holidays may need longer notice).
