We had a wonderful stay and what is advertised is what you get. It is only slightly expensive and the extras like drinks and refreshments could be better priced in my opinion, given the daily rate.
We had a lovely 3-night stay in the Penthouse - exquisite views and well protected from the prevailing, very strong winds. One warning - the access is via an external spiral staircase, so be prepared for that. Fortunately, staff were on hand to assist with our luggage, which included a bulky portable fridge!

Nothing has been overlooked in the unit, the view is gorgeous and I cannot remember when I last felt so overwhelmingly spoiled. Loved it.

We really loved our stay, the room was fantastic, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The views were captivating from our room, breakfast was well worth the cost. We found it so nice that we had to force ourselves to venture out into Gordon's Bay. Which is a nice town, although we preferred the restaurants that were about a 10 or 15 min drive.
People will always find something to complain about. But we had such a nice stay and the view is so beautiful. The place is so clean and tidy. Staff were professional but very friendly. Didn't feel like going home at all! Our granddaughter had a birthday and they were super nice and spoiled us! Just a heads up, should you enjoy breakfast there for the first time and you choose on your own that you choose what you choose from your choice otherwise it happens that you e.g. only get 2 fried eggs. We explained that we misunderstood then and it was kindly corrected. We proclaim far and wide how nice and beautiful it is there!
185 on BEACH Boutique Suites and Apartments is a special place with 180% hospitality. Sea air coming into the room like this is special. Literally 8 meters away from the sea.
It was a very pleasant, comfortable accommodation. The location is excellent. Quiet on the coast.
I was not happy with the cleanliness of the unit, the kitchen was sticky and no kitchen cloth was provided to wipe counters and their was no egg lift to make breakfast. The bathroom window did not lock and the bed was very uncomfortable and should be replaced. The sleeper couch does not fit properly when folded out for the kids it is against the TV unit and they should not accept booking for more than 2 people.
Very neat unit, everything one might need, owner very friendly, lovely pool, safe parking, place to relax. Boats at the harbor can be seen entering and leaving from the balcony. Would definitely recommend it. If you are someone who likes space, take the family room instead.

The studio apartment gives you a lot of privacy and with own private patio, your own entrance make this self catering unit an excellent option, we love this place. Gordon's Bay have a relaxed environment and the beach are very close to the unit.

The staff are very professional and friendly and made us feel very much at home. Comfortable large rooms that have proper sea views! The bedding is spotless and of top quality. The owners and staff has gone out of their way to ensure that traveller's get the true South African experience. From the warm welcome at arrival to the meticulous details in the decor that reflect South African heritage in every nook and cranny. Our hosts was so helpful and friendly. Beautiful apartment, but not suitable for small children and there are large windows looking into living room and bedroom. Would prefer it to be tinted for privacy, people can see in from outside and where the place is located there are a lot of people moving around outside.
The breakfast was unfortunately not as ordered, my husband did not get scrambled eggs, but fried egg and not tomatoes but mushrooms. Muffins also came later. Some of the small bulbs in the room and bathroom roof are dead.

We stayed in the penthouse self-catering suite. Very basic accommodation and not worth what they are charging for it. The TV was not working upon our arrival. They sorted it out immediately. Some cutlery was missing, and they attended to it immediately. Although they can not be held responsible for the weather, the wind we had was so bad that we didn't sleep for the 2 nights we stayed there. Everything rattled and squeaked and when the wind blew it came through all the openings causing drafts everywhere. The views are beautiful and really close to the beach, but yes we personally would not stay there again.

I asked my girlfriend to marry me on the balcony overlooking the pool in the luxury suite at 185 on Beach. What a beautiful place and it will always hold a special place in our hearts as my now fiancé cannot stop talking about how much she loves it. Awesome place.

Although we were informed that rooms are not serviced during Covid time, we were however disappointed to come into the room on Sunday evening and still find the breakfast dishes on the table. However, they quickly came and removed it.

Our only regret was not staying longer, but we will most certainly return to this gem of a venue. The spectacular view from our well appointed suite with private balcony overlooking False Bay was picture perfect. The staff were welcoming yet discreet, ensuring our every need was catered for. 185 on Beach is a short, safe stroll to the local Harbour where we enjoyed excellent food in the relaxed well-run 'Thirsty Oyster Tavern' which was recommended by our hosts. We highly recommend 185 on Beach for couples or groups of friends.

Even though we could only arrive at the guest house late Sunday evening, we were received with hospitality by a very friendly and helpful hostess, Mrs. Loring. We were unfortunately only able to use the accommodation for one night due to other commitments, but will not easily forget the accommodation and fantastic location of the guest house. Will definitely want to stay there again in the future when we visit Cape Town and surroundings.
The apartments are modern with special interior decoration. It has everything you need for self-catering, including a barbecue on the balcony. The garden is beautiful and the living areas are comfortable with large windows overlooking False Bay. We had a wonderful time relaxing while you could enjoy unlimited views of the sea from the balcony. Jeanette is very friendly and made an effort so that we could enjoy my daughter's birthday. Thank you very much Jeanette! The apartments are also within walking distance right along the sea to the beach and the shops.

Beautiful place and outstanding location. A bit small. When we arrived the TV reception didn't work and after 2 persons tried unsuccessfully to fix it they just left it without any other enquiries. Good finishes, beautiful shower and comfy bed, broken chairs in lounge and fridge not in working order. The unit smells of cigarette smoke. Noise from top unit - people walk to and fro, sounds like a wooden floor, was a disturbance at night when we wanted to sleep. I expected much more, staff could at least have made sure that everything was in order. After the second complaint you give up and then you're just happy you didn't book a longer stay.
The view is fantastic, and the room was spotless. I would recommend it for sure.
