Tontiki saved our holiday! I originally booked a place in Westbrook. When we got there, the place was not up to standard at all. I immediately found Tontiki in Ballito who had accommodation for us. Wow, what a relief when we arrived at Tontiki - neat, clean and just beautiful. Our whole family was so happy. Thank you Tontiki for making our holiday a 5 star holiday. We had booked in for my granddaughter's birthday. We really enjoyed our stay. The unit was very neat and tidy with all the necessities of home, even hand wash in each bathroom. We had friends (who were in another complex, down the road from us) stop over with their 2 kids and they too were impressed with the unit. Most impressive was that Greg, the manager, was very helpful, checked that we had received all our details and furnished us with further details that we had required. I will certainly recommend this unit to family and friends and would like to go back. Just one question I had was why was there no cleaning service on Saturday?
Good value for money. The gas grill's switch does not work so have to turn on the grill with matches. Might just peek at it.
Second and third bedrooms have nice views. Full DStv with catch-up is a bonus. Gates operate with a code which is nice. Overlooks very nice a clean pool area.
The owner may need to look at the following: The stove's plates are badly corroded. The oven pulls out of the cabinet. The 2 toilets' water keeps running even if you pull the handle. There is no rocket board. There was not one day someone to clean as advertised. Because no one came to clean, there was not enough toilet paper in the unit. The complex's gate motor doesn't work either, you have to open and close the gate yourself. Apart from that we had a very nice stay, the essentials are there and the air conditioner in the master bedroom helps a lot.
It was a nice break, despite the weather. Ballito we will definitely see you again!

Lovely, safe place - my little kids were frustrated though. Perfect for adults. Extra set of keys and gate remote would have come in handy.
The flat is suitably equipped and designed and provided a bright cheerful ambience. The owner was kind and courteous in all communications. The view was good even though it was only side views, it still provided the scenery of a coastal holiday. Parking was safe and adequate, only recommendation is that a second set of keys be provided. The look of the place corresponded with the photos on the internet and the flat had all the kitchen requirements and more in it.
We enjoyed it, but the place needs a good cleaning in the lounge set and braai area. We could not use the braai area at all. We also couldn't store our clothes in the closets because they have a very deep musty smell. We would say the place needs a little more attention from the owner as it could be a gem for vacationers going forward.
