The lodge is fully furnished and comprises 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, and an open-plan living area. The bedrooms are equipped with either a double bed or twin beds, with a bath, basin and toilet in all of the bathrooms. The kitchen is well-equipped to prepare and cook meals and contains all the appliances and utensils to do so.
The lounge has neat seating arrangements to relax on, a fireplace, and there is a TV with full HD DStv. The living area leads out to the upstairs, thatched patio, where guests can make use of a gas braai facility. Downstairs there is a lapa for fire and braai. The reserve also offers a clubhouse, communal swimming pools, braai areas, a games room, as well as hiking trails and a mountain bike trail to make use of.
For the adventurous, the reserve and area surroundings host an array of outdoor activities to experience, such as game drives, hiking trails, river swimming, fishing, 4x4 and mountain biking trails, fishing, and bird watching opportunities, to name but a few.

24 guests' feedbackDoornkop as a whole is a great farm to visit with amazing fishing and lots of activities. The house is very well stocked and has everything you need. The gas braai on the upstairs balcony was a big help and was great for cooking.
It is very peaceful and really a place to rest with a breathtaking view and neat accommodation.
Well equipped and spacious. Beautiful dams for fly fishing.

The DStv is very sensitive, if the slightest wind blows it loses signal. The TV itself takes about 30 minutes to warm up before turning on. It broke before we left and we notified the owner but it was not repaired. We then went home only a day earlier. It would also have been nice to know that Vodacom has no reception there.
We were at 29 Doornkop for a week with my parents and my two primary school children. It was delicious. We never ran out of hot water, we slept great and enjoyed walking, horse riding, wildlife viewing and swimming. This unit is close to the dams and also close to two of the three shorter hiking trails which made it very convenient for us. The animals are certainly not tame, but have at times walked very close to the units. The workers are all very friendly and helpful.
Short renovation to building and bedroom furniture. Outer set falls apart. The rest was ok. A bit expensive for what one expects from the ad. Staff friendly.
The dirt road is in excellent condition, the house clean and comfortable with everything you need. The view is to die for. I can recommend this place. I will go back again!
I would love to come back again. Please include the iron and ironing board in the house.

Doornkop is well located and food for the soul.
Thanks for a good time at 29 Doornkop Fish and Wildlife Angus. Just had to drive up and down a bit for key, but the place and atmosphere and sitting out quickly made up for it. I would go back to rest there anytime. Maybe the time just longer to take up more of the place. Had a really relaxing time. Maybe just plan with the cement bags and window frame on the lower porch. Didn't really mind, mostly hung out upstairs, but would love to open the curtains in the morning to take in the scenery and not cement bags. Will definitely be back for a visit or two. Thanks again Angus for sharing the place with us.
We really enjoyed our time at 29 Doornkop Fish and Wildlife Reserve. The scenery is breathtaking, the staff friendly and helpful and the accommodation was clean and comfortable. Just a pleasure!

A well stocked house in a beautiful setting, lots to explore for all ages.
The place needs a lot of attention. Broken sofas, broken bedding, dirty curtains. The resort itself is a fantastic place! Will go there again but only in a different unit.
2 star rating for the unit 29, but 4-star for the resort.
Was unhappy with one bedroom's leaking toilet.
The unit was clean but damp. The patio downstairs looked like a building site and we unfortunately did not feel one with the natural environment. Having the kitchen and living area upstairs in such a beautiful surroundings is ludicrous.
The getaway was not at all what we expected. The value for money is really very good. The house was perfect for what we were looking for. Many thanks to Angus for the opportunity.

Doornkop is a beautiful reserve with great outdoor activities, far from the hustle and bustle of the city. We hope we get another opportunity to visit there.
