29 on St James is situated in beautiful landscaped indigenous gardens ,with a stunning rock swimming pool with wheelchair access, cascading waterfalls and rock streams where bird life abounds in this lovely setting. The early morning wake-up calls of the Purple Crested Loerie (Turaco) or the groups of Ibis visiting their favourite watering hole encapsulates your ideal “out of Africa" experience, a theme that is carried through the Lodge as it introduces you to the history that is the foundation of this beautiful country.

The main public areas of the Lodge, include a formal adults lounge with TV with full channel service, dining room. Seven external bedroom suites are situated on the ground and first floors, where sweeping vistas of Durban can be experienced. All suites have extra-length beds and are en-suite.

All suites have separate entrances and verandas, full Wi-Fi, granite top kitchenettes (no stove), air-conditioning, safes, tea- and coffee-making facilities, mini-bar, microwave and DStv.

Breakfast is served on the verandah Monday to Friday and a continental breakfast in the guest's suite on Saturday and Sunday. Dinner is available upon request and served to the guest's suite, and a laundry service is offered at a nominal charge. 24 hour notice is required for both.
