175 guests' feedbackIt's rare that you come across so much attention to the little things like a small scarf for that coffee bag that doesn't want to be torn open, candles by the bath for that touch of romance and relaxation, as well as enough wall plugs for computers, hair dryers and mobile phones, and the most delicious nut coffee to kick off the day with. You won't find a better hostess easily and the location is perfect whether you want to visit Brooklyn Mall or one of the top restaurants like Kreme, Pachas and a host of others, it's within a 5-8 minute drive and you're there. Definitely a place to add to your list of favorites.

Excellent overnight facilities near several hospitals in Groenkloof. Room is spacious and very clean. Coffee station was well equipped and even hot chocolate if you wanted it. Bedding is good quality with sufficient storage space in the room and even the bathroom. Water took quite a long time to heat up, causing quite a bit of water to go down the drain. It was really hot after about 8 minutes. Unfortunately we had to be at the hospital early, so did not enjoy breakfast.

Not at all. Disruption of rest with gardener sweeping the pavement with a lawn broom at 5:45 in the morning. Happened more than once. The owner never got back to us about the problem. The guest house's dog attacks you when you stop there and barks continuously so that 2 people cannot hear each other at all. No one quiets the dog. The dog lunges at you as if it wants to bite you.

The location is excellent, in a quiet, safe neighborhood and close to shops, universities, embassies, etc. The owners are very welcoming and with solar panels and a generator there load shedding is not a problem. My friend and I recently stayed at 37 on Charles because we were planning on partying it up in PTA and didn't want to drive back to JHB. The accommodation has everything you need! Soap, shampoo, towels, coffee, tea, sugar, mosquito wall plug in, Ice cold water in the fridge, milk, an ashtray on the deck with lovely sitting chairs, a pool, a jungle gym for kids, multi plug, hangers, extra blankets, air con, a cupboard, 2 ply toilet paper - everything! My only personal dislike was the Ring neck Avery that became an alarm clock at 05:30 am. For youngsters that got back from a crazy concert at 02:00 am screeching Ring Necks did not like us trying to sleep late, they did not have a snooze button. But at least we were not late for work.

The property is a very busy street which can be a problem sometimes if you use the driveway to get in and out. The traffic noise can be bothersome. The unit and the equipment is super clean and of great quality. We really enjoyed the stay.

Our room was near the aviary with parrots - something that can be a bit troublesome if they get noisy very early on. The entrance on busy Charles Street is not ideal. Neat and clean, but the unit is right next to a bird cage. Very noisy and I'm allergic to feathers. Had to locate an emergency pharmacy Saturday evening to find medication. We requested breakfast but nobody there the following morning. They didn't make any arrangements for dropping of the keys either. We made a plan and they only enquired about the keys the day after. What an unorganised place!

We were not welcomed at all when we arrived, the lady who was supposed to check us in said we didn't have a reservation for the weekend, after I asked the owner and she wasn't available she called and told us she is not aware of our discussion. The lady spoke to her on the phone, and it was probably half an hour, when they let us know that the owner had forgotten about us! The room we were sitting in you could see was not prepared for new guests, the owner himself came to us later, didn't come to apologize for what happened, just came to ask if we were ok. We were very unhappy with the service we received. The guest house itself was beautiful, very luxurious and tidy, full of DStv and a luxurious bathroom, fully equipped with everything you will need, we had a very nice stay and will go back again if we can expect better service.

37 on Charles is an oasis in the middle of the busy traveler's obligations. The accommodation is quiet, wooded and safe. The finish in the units is only the best and each unit is excellently equipped. The service is particularly friendly and professional. What is particularly impressive are the small details: the fact that, for example, on the first morning during breakfast, we had one guest who asked for scrambled eggs and another for a fried egg, and the next morning it came out of the kitchen by itself. came without us asking again, plus extra toast and muffins for the third guest who didn't want to eat eggs or bacon the morning before. Such attention to fine details makes the difference between an ordinary guest house and an absolutely excellent one where the guest feels as if they are staying with people who really care.
