Easter weekend was a special getaway with loved ones in a lovely home that meets every possible requirement. We visited and will cherish the special memories.
The place was not very clean, some of the dishes were dirty. The shower was clogged and I had to open it so the water could run out. The outside round braai area looks like a trash can with all the cigarette butts in it. We are not smokers so this is very poor. It is also not mentioned that there are two houses under construction, so there was only noise all day.
Peaceful, safe environment. Centrally situated to explore all the gems of the West Coast nearby. The house is five-star accommodation, would have loved to have stayed longer.
Next time my wife and I will bring the family. Very spacious and ideal for a family getaway. The private jetty was the icing on the cake to cap off my wife's 30th birthday just before sunset.

Conveniently close to everything. Wonderful hospitality, and close to my mother who lives in a retirement home on Velddrif. Many thanks to the owners who were able to accommodate me for the weekend. With the courtesy of the owners, I would very much like to rent the accommodation again in the future if available. It is very neat and clean and all the basic amenities are available including a braai area inside the house. The TV also works during load shedding, which helps pass the long load shedding hours. There are guards at the main entrance and secure parking at the house.

It's really so beautiful there, the house was a wonderful surprise. The location even more! We are in love with this place and then really the friendliness, sincerity, and wonderful feeling of "home" was such that we are already planning to go again and much longer this time. The house caters for all your needs. However, I felt an obligation to keep the curtains closed while renovations took place on the outside of the house. It is not suitable for children, as the residents are mostly retirees. It is a safe place and close to town so you can do your shopping.
Each room had its own bathroom, so ideal for a group of adults. It is perfectly located for experiencing all the local attractions - Berg River Cruise on the Cracklin' Rosie, various locations for birdwatching on the river, and a 25 km ride to Rocherpan for birdwatching. Be sure to watch the thousands of Cape Darters flying to their feeding and overnight roosting sites in the mornings and evenings.

Warm and friendly greeting on arrival. Spacious, clean and comfortable. Fireplace was perfect for the chilly load-shedding evenings. A bonus that the TV was available during load-shedding too! Great for family getaways. The safety was the most valued - went walking around the island in the mornings and felt completely safe. A definite return!

This was our second time at 39 on Admiral, and certainly won't be our last. Like last year, we had a great stay, rested and visited, we would be able to recommend it to anyone. The house is perfectly laid out and equipped for a group of 2 or 8 people.

Rooms are spacious and well furnished for a holiday rental, living area and kitchen facilities were great with ample seating, tables, equipment, crockery and cutlery. Proximity to the canal is good, will be better once the jetty is installed for those with boats. For a change the real experience was better than the photos advertising the space. Would also be nice if WiFi was available.
I hope to book the house again in the future and I highly recommend 39 on Admiral. Our stay was so peaceful and the house is equipped with everything one would need. There was even a baby bath for my 2 month old nephew. My dad is in a wheelchair and was very comfortable in the house, in his room and the bathroom. We had an absolute relaxing stay.
Great open space. We were in different parts of the living area but could still interact with one another. It was raining the weekend we were there and the indoor braai came in handy.

We were five friends who toured the beautiful Western Cape on a flower tour - it was a lovely house with four en suite rooms! Great beds and space. Well-equipped kitchen and delicious indoor barbecue! I definitely recommend it!

We were warmly received and were already able to get the key earlier and visit later on our departure day. It was absolutely perfect for our family visit. No one was in each other's way. Wonderfully safe. Went for a walk early in the morning and looked at all the birds. Beautifully clean and tidy. Can really recommend it. It was a lovely peaceful break for us. The house is large and well appointed. We were a family of 7. From grandparents, kids ranging from 14 to 23 years of age and a wheelchair bound guest and we were all comfortable. A true home from home with all the amenities you would expect. Bedrooms are spacious with comfortable beds and ceiling fans in 3 of them for those hot nights. We had no need to leave the estate except for some shopping. The kids could still go fishing even though we went during lockdown. Would love to return here some time soon.
I would suggest just one small thing: a curtain for the sliding door in the hallway. One looks from the outside into the rooms. We were just ladies, so it creeped us out a bit. Otherwise, everything was perfect. Can't wait to visit again.

This home is spacious and modern with a homely feel. There is plenty of everything. You can braai inside or outside, as the weather allows. It was wonderful to have the dishes pile up until the dishwasher is full. Yet there were plenty of plates, cups and glasses. As well as all the necessary equipment. There is DSTV for the TV slaves and a good supply of games to enjoy around the table. A short path leads you to the edge of the Berg River, where you can relax on a garden bench while watching the waves on the water and bird life. We could even fish, which along with the waves of the water, is wonderful therapy. We will definitely stay there again if we want to go in that direction. And take 3 pairs of friends with us.
