It was a weekend to remember! Plekkie is awesome, everything you can think of is there, the sea view is breathtaking, we even saw whales. Not to mention Peet! Wonderful man, who made us feel so at home!

The location of the place is fantastic and we had a great stay. I would only make a few changes if it were my place to make it more practical e.g. 1. The space is limited with the built-in table top being too long and in the way, half a meter shorter would definitely help. 2. As for the kitchenware there is almost everything you need but unfortunately only 4 of each, 2 extra of everything would be a good idea. 3. Most of the kitchen cupboards are closed with the result that storage space in the kitchen is quite limited. 4. The piece with the drawers that is not against the wall is also very impractical and takes up a lot of unnecessary space. The place has a lot of potential if some of the things are removed such as the personal photos, ornaments etc. Overall, our stay was very nice and I will use the place again.

Very cute place, however the bed is made and the bedding very old and worn. Pillows paper thin. Furthermore, everything was clean and tidy.

When we stopped here, tired driving. Just wanted to sleep, our van didn't fit in the parking area. My husband called Peet and asked if the other apartments were available, because he really wanted to see the sea and not just hear about it. Jinne, without a doubt we were offered the sea view apartment. Mercy our parents. What a stunning view and sound. We renamed 4 Seasons to Raaswater because that's all you hear. All I would change is a clothes rack that you put up for your wet towels and clothes. Peet, this is a gem you have here. Thank you very much for your hospitality. We will definitely want to visit here again.

"Break away to silence."

The apartment is on its own and away from passers-by who may disturb. Also away from shops, delivery services and road noise. The apartment is well equipped and we would like to visit again. One negative; the spiders work fast. We had to remove some cobwebs in the house.

We stayed in unit 2. The place has a nice sea view. The dishwasher was a pleasant surprise. The mattress is very uncomfortable.

Location excellent. Kitchen cupboards very dirty. Cupboards locked in rooms that cannot be used. Roof leaks. Blinds falling apart, bathroom rail falling out of bathroom wall. Window comes out of frames, some of the windows are corroded. TV that doesn't really work. No WIFI. Maybe replace the outdated carpets with tiles. The wooden door does not close properly, lock does not work and only replaced with a latch. With a good renovation and a very good cleaning, this house could be a good destination. Will go again if the house is a bit renovated and cleaned.

"Sorry to say but this was the worst place to stay ever. Something is seriously wrong with the power box. Had to shower in cold water all the time. Group was not impressed at all."

The owner and I had a big falling out because I was unhappy with the service and he was very rude (did apologize later).

We enjoyed our visit, the unit has the most beautiful sea view and well located near the beach. The owner was very helpful with all the necessary arrangements and load shedding schedule that was given to our door.

"We really relaxed."

We stayed in the bachelors unit and our dog went with us. There is a small stoep where we could hang out. The beach is a stone's throw from the place where you can walk the dogs and just 8 km further there is a lovely swimming beach which is also pet friendly. The owners are absolutely amazing people who do everything possible to make it as comfortable as possible.

Simple, clean accommodation for 2 adults and 2 small children. Wonderful views of the ocean and a short walk to long beach. Time your stay with low tides if you enjoy rock pools. Look for dolphins in the waves.

"May not be to everyone's taste."

We booked our accommodation for 2 nights, but ended up staying only one as we could not stay there any longer. When you look at the photos you kind of get the impression that the studio apartment is situated on the side of the house with the possibility of a sea view. When you arrive you find out that the studio apartment is situated behind the house in the right side corner with no view at all. You can, however, walk around the side of the house to get a glimpse of the ocean, but you might bother other guests as that is the access to their units. The unit itself is more of a room than an apartment. When you first enter through the little back gate into the stoep you are greeted by a mass amount of spiderwebs in the plants. You then unlock your door and when you open it you are greeted by a damp foul smell. You step inside and immediately notice the old dirty carpet draped with even older throw rugs. They really are in a horrible state. You then notice that the bed has the exact same duvet covers on that are depicted in the website pictures. The people said that there were guests that stayed there the previous day, so seeing the duvet covers we immediately felt that these were not washed. We did not go as far as to open the sheets to see if the linen was in fact a clean pair, so we decided we will sleep on top of everything and we went and got our own pillows. Walking around the bed we noticed spider webs around the base of the bed and in the one corner there is dangerous black mold on the wall. There are unnecessary items in the unit as there are old books on the one shelf and about 3 flashlight/lamps that don't even work. When you open the cupboard there is next to no space to unpack any of your clothes and the space is also occupied by braai grids and gas bottles. When we were settled in we decided to take a shower. When I got into the shower and closed the curtain there was a very large cockroach hiding in the curtain. When you finally fall asleep wondering what you are sleeping on you do notice that the bed is quite comfortable. In the morning you are greeted by cars driving past on the road about 2 m from the window and the train horn and train wheels on the track. Our conclusion is that you do get what you pay for as it is a very cheap rate, but even when paying so little there should not be a compromise on cleanliness. Replace the carpets with tiles that are easier to clean and wont hold that mold damp smell. Treat the walls with moldaway spray that is inexpensive and works like a dream. White linens are a much better choice as your guests can immediately see if they are clean. The biggest change we can suggest would be to throw away the dirty old tapestry headboard as that thing is so gross and we even rolled it up and put it on the floor so our heads would not touch it. Overall the place has potential and can really be a gem if the smaller details are tended to. This is a beautiful guest house and should not be treated like a hoarders storage.

Our room was very small but Magda moved us to the bigger apartment the next day and even though it was a little more expensive it was worth every cent. She was so kind and friendly. We had a wonderful stay and had no problem. I will book there again next time. The place is by the sea and there is no noise except that of the sea.

4 seasons is for sure not upmarket accommodation. The house and surrounding accommodation of the guest house needs reasonable maintenance but as it is - you get what you pay for. The accommodation was average, not knowing the kitchenette was part of the room, but it did meet our needs.

Cute place, but too many portraits/photos in the bedroom which doesn't create a peaceful effect. The fridge makes a noise. A bit of upkeep would go a long way as well as neatness.

Very nice place to stay on holiday if you just want to get away for a bit. Walking distance from the sea, although the uphill is a bit rough for old legs. Close enough to all the big beaches if you want to drive around a bit.

We had a great time at 4 Seasons, a lot of people were there at the weekend. The aunt is very friendly. Nice close to the sea, in the morning when you lie in your bed you hear the waves breaking from the sea. All we lacked this weekend was a grater.

Suitable for overnight stays. Unfortunately, the other residents disturb your privacy and night's rest. Maybe some sound insulation would help. Otherwise very neat and clean. We were received very kindly.

The house was okay, it lacks a small pot and iron. Stairs a bit unsafe in relation to grandchildren, always be on your guard. For a house that can accommodate 8 people and only has one bath and shower, it was time consuming. Perhaps a lighter theme in the house should be looked at, because people come on holiday and the atmosphere in the house is very old-fashioned and heavy. I would recommend the house to older people, but the stairs are going to play a role there. Was very nice to wake up with the sound of waves and sea view

It's a breathtaking place and very nice location, sleeping arrangements and everything was perfect. But no toilet paper, no dish cloths, no coffee, tea or sugar.

I knew it was a small unit but the presentation was very disappointing. The photos are misleading. There is no view. This is a small patched up room not suitable for letting. The photos create the impression that there is a sea view or a mountain view from a deck. The only view was the backyard and train track a few meters from your door. The dishes had to be washed outside. Decoration old fashioned with a dusty wool rug as a headboard. It's unhygienic. Rusty nail in door that we had to bend. Garden unkempt and crying out for some attention. Fryer hyper dirty and entangled. If we had barbecued there, dry creepers would have burnt down the whole house. Boiler has trouble switching on. Radio has a short circuit. So not working. Bedside lamp clumsily placed on a chair. No bedside tables. Sorry but we have arranged alternative accommodation for the last three days at another guest house. We contacted the owners from day one. Their answer was: You get what you pay for.
