The Mews is well-equipped and can accommodate 4 adults. The townhouse comprises 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and an open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area. The rooms feature a queen-size bed and 2 twin beds, fitted with built-in cupboards. There are 2 bathrooms, the main bathroom is fitted with a bath, a shower, and a toilet. The second bathroom is fitted with a shower, a basin, and a toilet.
The kitchen is fully equipped and has a 4-plate hob and oven, fridge-freezer, microwave oven, toaster, kettle, coffee plunger, kitchen utensils as well as ample cutlery, crockery, glasses. Complimentary starter tea, rooibos, coffee, creamer, and sugar are provided.
Guests have access to a spacious open-plan tiled lounge and dining room area that leads out onto a small private entertainment area with a built-in braai in the garden overlooking the mountains and scenery for which Clarens is famous. All living areas have underfloor heating. A gas heater is also available at an extra cost.
Guests have access to DStv Compact and Wi-Fi. Two small pets are allowed by prior arrangement at an extra cost per pet per day. The house is completely walled front and back to keep your pets safe.
There is a single garage and parking for 1 other car.

49 guests' feedbackOverall the accommodation was perfect. A few small complaints: the second bathroom was not working correctly, the light bulbs were not working, and the WiFi was not connected and required a service man to reprogram.
Cosy place with beautiful view. Just what we needed.
Lovely apartment within walking distance to almost everything.
It was wonderful, we had the house to ourselves. The kids loved the place and it is secured with a garage for the car. All in all, I loved it.

We enjoyed our stay a lot. The unit was very well kept, neat and tidy with everything we needed. We would have liked the windows to have burglar bars as we were not comfortable leaving the windows open while we were not there, and the place felt like a sauna when we would get back. Other than that, we can highly recommend 4 The Mews. We will be back!
We were a bit disappointed with regards to the following issues; other than that, everything else was fine. 1. No DStv Compact, as advertised, only streaming, which we had to call for help a couple of times. Missed the Springboks rugby game Saturday night. 2. We were not informed about the water restrictions; water was switched off at 19:00 till the next morning. 3. Window lever in the main bedroom was broken; could not close the window. 4. Toaster was broken. 5. Guest toilet kept on flushing.
The unit is perfectly located in the town. We found it to be clean, neat and well-equipped and suited our needs for a weekend visit.
This home is perfectly located and very comfortable. We had everything we needed and the extra water was very handy when the town's water was off. We felt very safe and comfortable to let our pup play outside. Thanks for a great stay! We'll definitely be back!
Very tidy in a safe, quiet complex. Walking distance from all the tourist attractions.
We had a very nice stay. Location is good and it's clean and tidy. Unfortunately they are not sorted for load shedding, which in itself is not a problem, it's just bad that there is no water at all. If they can sort it out we will definitely stay there again.

The fact that the place was not ready by 14h00 for check-in was inconvenient. The email indication of where the key can be found was also incorrect.
Our stay was good but the second day we had no water, it seems like this is a common problem and we were not warned about it. We left a day early because of this.
Place is well furnished but not clean. Better to bring your own tea and coffee. If you are allergic to animals, choose another place instead as this place is animal friendly. If you don't have a problem with the owner going into the house when you're not there, this place is for you.
Unit is very well equipped in terms of kitchen utensils, warming things for the cold winter evenings with braai facilities and a lock-up garage.
4 The Mews is a wonderful, peaceful place. Equipped with everything you need. Neat and clean. Nice view on back porch. Biddy and Mark were very friendly and helpful. Will stay there again. Thank you very much Biddy and Mark.

Have stayed at the Mews before too. The place is clean, tidy, safe and deliciously warm. The place meets our needs for a place to stay for a weekend.
Place is safe and clean with all amenities needed including books and games. Safe parking and beautiful view.

Close enough to town for walking but still private. Wi-Fi did not work even though both my wife and I were vaccinated. If WiFi is important to you, confirm that it has been restored in the meantime. Secure and private with lock up garage.
Definitely not wheelchair friendly. Cannot rotate in rooms and bathrooms. Mattress double bed springs sting and hurt, not king size. The water from the toilets turns after use. DStv's problem should have been sorted out in advance, we should have been informed.
Everything you need is in the house and the house is close to restaurants and shops.
My wife and her brother (visiting from Glasgow) spent 2 nights at 4 The Mews just after New Year 2019. It was everything we had hoped for and more. Apart from an unfortunate water outage (municipal issue) and a small DSTV problem (immediately sorted out by agent/owner), we had a fabulous stay. We can't wait to come back. Our thanks to all concerned.

Great getaway, not too far to travel. Accommodation with everything equipped, accommodated up to our four feet.
Comfortable accommodation for a maximum of 4 people. Close enough to everything, but far enough to experience the silence.
The Mews is well appointed and within walking distance to the shops in town. The beautiful view of the mountains made the stay that much more enjoyable.

Lovely unit, well located. Coming from Johannesburg, I would have liked to see burglar bars on the windows. Customer service great, friendly and very helpful.
4 The Mews is a very nice place, well located and ideal for visitors with dogs. The water of the bath's tap and main bathroom's basin is just too slow. The unit should just be cleaned properly, dust on the tile's edges and mould in the bathrooms, especially showers. Thank you for good stay.

Caretaker was very helpful. When we walked in we felt at home. Everything was clean and tidy. Good furniture and decor. Secure complex with garage. Very well located. Nice view on the mountain. Will definitely visit and recommend 4 The Mews again.
This was our 3rd visit to The Mews no.4. For us it feels like our 2nd home. What is very nice is the fact that our four-legged children are also welcome. The place is very safe and we will go back again and again.

Due to water restrictions in Clarens, water will be off from 19:00 - 05:00.Linen and bath towels are provided.
Pets by arrangement and are charged extra per pet per day. Only 2 small dogs are allowed.
During winter an additional gas fee will be applicable.
Cleaning services can be arranged on request, at an additional fee.
The guest house Owner, Management or Staff are not responsible or liable for any loss or damage to the Guest's property or person while in occupation of the Guest House.
The Guest warrants that they satisfied themselves prior to arrival as to the condition and facilities offered by the guest house and are satisfied that they will suite the Guests requirements during their stay. Please report breakages.
The Guest's account must be paid in full before occupying the guest house.
Only the number of Guests booked and paid for are permitted to occupy the Guest House.
All bank charges and fees are payable by the Guest and will be added to the Guests account.
No loud noise and music, please respect your neighbours.
No smoking allowed inside the guesthouses.
Maximum 2 cars are allowed. Please park your car/s where they will not interfere with any other cars or Guests.

The Guest House Owner, Management or Staff will not be responsible or liable for any damages caused by or to the Guests Pet/s. Any damage or additional expense caused by the Guests Pet/s will be for the Guests account. Guests are required to keep control over their Pet/s, particularly when in a shared public area by keeping them on a leash and under supervision. Maximum 2 small pets allowed. Large dogs are allowed by arrangement only. Pets must be house trained and sleep on their own bedding, which the Guest must supply. No pets allowed on furniture or beds. Pick up all poops and dispose of into toilet or bin.
