Perfectly situated for us who swam Midmar on Sunday. Had everything we needed.
Friendly people, clean facilities, very helpful and hospitable service.
Owners very friendly and really peaceful environment. The SuperSpar Store in Howick is luxurious and spacious and plenty of places to eat really good value for money. We will definitely stay there again if we have to sleep over again. What I can suggest is TV set only with Free TV channels from SABC TV1. TV2. TV3. and E-TV. That leaves R130. 00 per Year per TV. These may be options to help Owners that these are not crazy expensive expenses for them because they are pensioners. But this is only thought to be shared for Double rooms only.

Graham and Linken were very accommodating and went out of their way to ensure that our early morning requirements were met, before we left for the day.
It's just awkward and impersonal with owners who were around us all the time. Feel like you are staying in their house because there is no privacy. No TV in rooms and have to watch TV with owners. Breakfast was great. TV in rooms. for the price i would recommend aircons.
Everything was fine. Our wheel hit a pothole and my husband had to have a wheel changed early and he didn't eat breakfast. The guest house then made him a sandwich, which he could take away.
The accommodation was not up to the same standard as our previous website bookings for which we used the same filters and paid less. The guest house is old (excusable), but neglected and very basic: simply furnished, no microwave or TV. The bathroom in particular needs upgrading. The bedroom carpet was dirty. Our room walked from the owners' TV room which was slightly disturbing. Nevertheless, we slept well and enjoyed the breakfast. We used another room because the suite we booked would be affected by load shedding and I couldn't climb the open staircase with my fear of heights.
Friendly and helpful, packed us breakfast as we had to drive early. Room however impersonal, but clean. Bathroom old, stuffy and small. Black marks on very low ceiling, short paint or proper cleaning. No TV in room. TV room shared with other people. When I opened the curtains next morning to look at the garden, there was a lot of stuff lying in front of the window which was very unsightly. Parking area dark with many tree roots. For the same price and cheaper there are much better options in Howick. New photos must be uploaded.

A beautiful old house that is very centrally located. The garden is neat, the room is spacious and clean, and the necessary is provided. We were received very kindly by the hostess and host. The breakfast was tasty. Definitely value for money, would definitely stay at 40 Fraser again.

I would recommend 40 Fraser Street to anyone who needs to stop over on their way to the South Coast. It is very quiet, safe, and the host and hostess are friendly helpful people. Cozy rooms and delicious breakfast.

Not recommendable. Very basic, no air-conditioning, rooms cold so windows can't open, too cold. Host and wife not presentable (look sloppy). Kettle takes a long time to boil for tea / coffee. There was no water, they had no plan to provide, we went to buy water. Location is not well maintained. On the positive side the beds have warm blankets and breakfast was nice and enough.

Our breakfast was specially made earlier so that we could leave early. The hostess put a lot of love into it and we were warmly welcomed. Had nice chats with the hosts. Thank you very much for the pleasant stay.
Shower and TV facilities are missing, I would recommend something like that. Parking facilities not as desired.
It would be better if they have an additional bathroom if you have booked for a minimum of four people. A lounge for the guests will be appreciated rather than sharing the lounge with owners.

We were kindly received and felt at home. The room was neat and well equipped for the cold weather. The breakfast was tasty and we could enjoy it in a nice atmosphere.
We stayed in the family room, stains on the carpet. The bathroom has no door and closes with a curtain. They broke into our vehicle in the evening, terrible security. Owners were helpful with cleaning of vehicle. Doesn't feel like a guesthouse at all, feels like renting a room in a boarding house for one night.
