7 guests' feedbackThe only reason I would not recommend 40 The Shades is because of the nightclub close by. The music was extremely loud until 2 in the morning.
We enjoyed the beach/sea, but had to make some adjustments regarding the apartment. The built-in braai on the stoep is not usable because the chimney is bricked up, so we had to buy a braai. The hostess never called me back after I left her a message. The communal barbecue facility was out of the question due to weather conditions/worse wind. The noise at night until 2am is deafening. It comes from the new shopping complex's night club/restaurant.
Stayed with the family and the place offers everything that is needed to make the stay enjoyable.
We really enjoyed the stay, although we have small children and it was on the third floor, we always kept an eye on them at the balcony. They really enjoyed seeing the sea from there with the ships' lights at night.
Have a nice time. Unit 21 is very neat but the cleanliness of the oven can be worked on. There are power cuts but no candles were provided so we were caught off guard. Can't grill on the stoopie either and the plate grill was taken away when I asked to be cleaned. You don't always feel like using the general braai facilities outside, especially when it's raining and cold.
Clean and tidy. Well located in relation to beach, shops and restaurants. Construction in process next to complex, would not have booked here if I had known. Terrible noise from early morning until 17h00.
