The House can accommodate up to 4 guests and comprises 2 en-suite bedrooms, a kitchen and a living area. The main bedroom contains an antique four-poster double bed, while the second bedroom contains 2 single beds; both with an en-suite bathroom, one with a bath and a shower, and the other with a shower. There is a fully-equipped kitchen with an original hearth and chimney feature. A combined dining area and sitting room adjoin the kitchen. This leads to a paved patio area, with a table and chairs, and a small lawned garden, which is shared with the neighbouring garden cottage. The house has some excellent classic antique furniture items and prints.
The Garden Cottage is a charming bed-sitting room with a double bed and en-suite fitted with a bath and a shower. There is a small, but well-equipped kitchen and the unit has a beamed patio area, with a kettle braai and a garden table and chairs, next to a small lawned area. This unit has air-conditioning and a TV with selected DStv channels. This garden flat is situated at the back of the main house at 7 Cross Street and is accessed from the street via a separate side entrance, through a narrow passage along the side of the house, past its patio and garden areas.
Guests have access to a dedicated adjoining off-street carport, for secure parking, which has a vehicle height limit of 1.8 metres, any vehicle above this height has to be parked at De Kothuize’s main parking area at 4 Parsonage Street, which is a 5-minute walk from the unit.
If required, both units can be booked together. If such a joint booking is made, an inter-leading door from the kitchen of the garden cottage, which is normally kept locked, can then be opened to provide joint direct access to the patio and the living area of the main house.

17 guests' feedbackIt is literally the most convenient place ever! Lots of space and everything works 100%. I would recommend it to anyone for sure.
Thank you very much. Perfect location.
Terribly cute house. Everything one needs. Nice stay.
Accommodation is spacious, tidy and very comfortable and safe.
A very nice and characterful place to stay. Well-equipped kitchen leading to safe play area. Secure parking behind locking gate and under roof.
The cottage was perfect with lots of space and everything you need. The street is just very noisy at night with the locals. Also small if you drive a large vehicle. Other than that, everything was sufficient.
We only spent one night there and found it very pleasant and tranquil. The staff was very helpful.
Very good place, good value for money. Place is comfortable and clean.
Everything and more you need. Beautiful place. A definite must.
It was a layover between Mossel Bay and Bloemfontein. We always just drive through the town and decided to sleep over and explore the town a bit. Visit nice shops and coffee shops. There was not enough time to do more but maybe in the future we will stay a little longer. The accommodation was perfect for a 1 night sleepover. I think for longer than that we will not choose the 7a cottage but choose a little bigger.
Very neat, the service was great.
Beautiful place spacious everything was ready for any possibility.
Most delicious stay. Very neat and the fact that my 4-foot child is welcome is really appreciated.
Hostess is very helpful. Slept very well. Air conditioning was great!
When we arrived I was completely taken aback when the lady told me that we should not leave our car alone when we take our luggage into the house. We always have to let someone stand there, because there are a lot of people walking around there. She also said that we must keep the door to the gate locked at all times. So for me this was not how I plan a vacation. The two nights there we were very restless and didn't really sleep. Was only too happy to leave when it was time.
Lovely super comfortable apartment. Great secure off street parking. Walking distance to a great restaurant. We will be back!
It can get hot in Graaff-Reinet and the house is cool, nice porch and ice machine. Close to Pioneers Restaurant which just makes it that much better. Looking forward to staying here again later in the year.
