I got the keys to my accommodation early in the morning and after our wedding my new wife and I went back there. The parking lot is small, but safe. The landlady changed our room in the morning to one that would suit us better - so the service is great.

We had to change out booking to one day earlier, there was no problem with that, very good reception and the room was incredibly neat and luxurious.
We traveled from Namibia with our 2 year old daughter. The road was long and we were very faint. We were welcomed very kindly and shown to our room. And the little things that were done immediately catch one's eye. A children's story plays on the TV, there forgets our little girl complaining about the long road. Cold water, salt in the bath and I can list many more. If you are in Upington please stop by Chateau.

I would like to tell you how much we enjoyed our stay at your very delightful and excellent guest house. The name says it all! We came to celebrate a 100th birthday with family and friends! We have travelled a fair bit (almost 7 hours) to Upington, but we have never experienced the welcome and treatment received at this wonderful place. All staff and team were, without exception, a true delight. Courtesy, humble, heart-warming welcoming messages for the whole week. Their genuine smiles and their ability to make one feel like kings and queens! On our arrival from the Augrabies Falls, I received a bunch of fresh flowers for the 100th birthday, this really blew the wind out of me! Congratulations to you on running such a successful establishment. For us, it was a real hidden jewel! I could not help but to fall in love with the magnificently decorated individual rooms, beautiful garden, fabulous breakfast - all added to our pleasure. We were treated to all sorts of little "extras" - delicious velouté, chocolate, fudge, fruits, cookies and muffins. I give you a 10+ or A+! Congratulations and we will, without a doubt, look forward to our next visit! (and spread the word)!

We had a wonderful, peaceful evening in A Chateaux. The table was covered in delicacies and fruit to treat us. For this price no other accommodation is comparable. Apart from the coffee and tea there was hot chocolate with marshmallows, what a treat!

Of the 3 overnight places we've stayed in on our recent visit to the Northern Cape, Chateau Guest House was by far the best. The host and his family received us incredibly well and spoiled us loads with all the free extras. They give you value for money, without a doubt. We were impressed with the service, the clean and neat area as well as the Christian values that are reflected clearly. This place is definitely on our radar for the future.

Our host Estelle certainly ensures that we were treated as "SPECIAL". The thoughtful blessings, cookies, sweets and more made the room a "home". The Guest House is situated near to town/other services, yet in a quiet suburb. We were expertly directed to a new and exciting restuarant. Estelle definitely has her finger on the pulse and we rate her as "SPECIAL". On our next trip to the Kgalagadi, the Chateau de Lux is a definite overnight stopover.

This place was awesome! Estelle's personal touches around every corner inside and out invite you to feel at home and relax in extremely affordable and stylish comfort. Every sprig of lavender, the carafe of wine, muffins and fruit, lovely linen, everything you need in the bathroom and so on, testify to someone who understands what it takes to make customers feel at home. In my price range of maximum R400 per night for 2, this accommodation was by far the best ever in terms of price, comfort, safety, accessibility and aesthetic value.

The room and garden are very nice, with a beautiful area to sit outside and eat breakfast. However, there was no bathroom door in the room.
When we rang the bell at the "castle" ominously the church bell also rang. I thought ooops! What did I book me and hubby into? But as the Lady of the "The castle" opened the front door all fears disappear. The atmosphere was warm and friendly and she knew exactly who we were and welcomed us. As we peeked into other rooms on our way to ours i was already impressed. Each and every room looked luxurious and comfortable. We were booked into room 9. The room has a private access to the garden, which is whimsical and beautiful. The room was stunning and the welcoming goodies in the room was much appreciated for us weary travelers. My only complain, would be that the room has a small bath. It is a romantic, semi-secluded room; therefore its only obvious that we would love to bath together. Sadly we couldn't fit a the same time. Other than the small bath I can gladly recommend a stay.
