Wow. It was a surprise and experience. We were there on a Monday. In Paris, everyone rested after the busy weekend, but we visited, barbecued, and sat deliciously on the porches and garden. Truly a beautiful room. Everything neat, well cared for. Great linen. A privilege.

This is one of the most peaceful guesthouses I have ever had the honor of staying in. We were warmly received and were impressed with the traditional antiques and the effort that has been made to retain the original character of the house, with all the modern conveniences that can be expected. The location is ideal for visiting all the beautiful and precious treasures of Paris on foot.

Very pleasant, cool, easygoing with an unbelievably comfy bed. Quite unique with ancient history décor. Water is hot at all times. Does feel private. The garden is extraordinarily green, beautiful and Zen-like. They give you fresh milk in the fridge to mix with coffee. They provide you with the acceptable Enrica coffee sachets. They supply you with great bubble bath products. Wish they could refill you for each day of stay beforehand. The braai area is not really that great to use.

The room is tastefully furnished, neat and clean. Although the room is a bit on the small side, we still enjoyed the stay. There is no TV or any channels available. There was a lot of noise from locals in the street passing the guest house.

The guest house is the perfect elegant style of a Victorian feel. We were a family group of mixed ages, where the adults appreciated the old world feel much more. The detail that went into the decorations from the interior of the house to the garden was put together with a lot of time and love.

Stayed over for a wedding in Paris. The rooms were very nicely decorated and I felt at home. Location is good and many people in the guest house just walked to town (there are a few restaurants and coffee shops located nearby). I would recommend it and would love to go there again.
We were kindly received by the owner, Uncle Danie. The guest house has the most beautiful decor and detail, even background music that creates a whole vibe. The bed slept great with good quality linen. We were also able to have a great time in the beautiful garden. It would have been more convenient if breakfast was included, as we had a busy day ahead, but the coffee and biscuit were very nice. Would definitely recommend A la Maison!

When power is off, there is no water pressure to even shower. Only a very small and extremely dim light in the room and living room which does not provide much light. Misrepresentation about a fireplace that didn't work either. On our return from the restaurant we had to struggle with mobile phone light to unlock doors due to no light Furthermore, the place is very neat and tasteful. Not much willingness from the owner to address the power crisis. Little customer oriented.

The TV doesn't work. The bathroom door is stone cold and falling apart and cannot close. The water pipes broke the first night and we couldn't take a shower.

The owner, Danie, welcomed us very kindly at the gate and took us to our room which looked better than the photos and was spotlessly clean. He also made the effort to show us the rest of the guesthouse and garden, as well as suggestions for restaurants in the vicinity. The next morning with our departure he greeted us again personally. This is what we would expect from a top class guest house. Can only say thanks for one of the much better experiences in a guest house.

It was a fantastic experience - from the decor to the reception by the owners were excellent. We had a good night's rest and the owner recommended a restaurant where we had a delicious meal and we were able to walk from the guesthouse.
We decided last minute that we are going on a romantic getaway weekend in Parys. It was very easy to book and pay. Our host let us know by SMS that he is expecting us and greeted us personally when we arrived. We stayed in their best room with en-suite bathroom. Lovely spacious rooms. It felt as if I was staying in my own house. Our host made a lovely suggestion about a restaurant on the river bank. The food and view were breathtaking. We still ate some of the left overs the next day. When we departed we had a very nice chat with Danie and his wife. They felt like old friends who we'll see again soon. The Tessera room comprises a seating area, queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower and a bath. Other in-room facilities include air-conditioning, TV, small fridge, electric blanket, hairdryer, tea- and coffee-making facilities, a safe on request from management.
À la Maison Boutique Guesthouse offers accommodation in 5 exclusive air-conditioned rooms, fitted with queen-size beds and TV. The communal lounge area is equipped with comfortable seating and a TV with DStv channels. In the dining area guest can enjoy the fireplace, perfect for those cold winter days.
