The driver was very accommodating and accommodating on WhatsApp as our arrival was delayed due to flights. It's neatly and comfortably furnished. However, I was very disappointed when I couldn't take advantage of the beautiful bathtub because it leaked water terribly. I was so looking forward to it after the long day and long drive. The place also needs some painting and renovation, e.g. the wooden strip that pulls away from the ceiling from the wall with a nail in the bathroom. Otherwise very well appointed.

Reception is not very tactful and does not exactly make you feel at home. We came from Port Elizabeth, were tired and hadn't read our messages when the lady said I should read my messages first before she opened the gate. Same with when we had to go out. We were a bit late and my daughter thought we had arranged for 10 o'clock. I then got a stinking message from her that the times were on my messages (2 page message).
Towels were only for 1 person and we were 2 persons.
Yes, overall very nice stay. The check-in system was just very complicated and the gate was out of order at times.
Spacious unit and well equipped. Was tidy on arrival and safe with security gate and anti-theft. WiFi was welcome! Do consider the following: signage, new towels (washed clean on arrival, but very faded and old) and regular cleaning of rooms and bathrooms. We checked in on Tuesday and by Friday afternoon I went to find cleaners (note there is no manager on site) sitting outside. The one said she was new. The other said she didn't know if they had to clean the unit and said they didn't see the two tickets we hung outside all week requesting cleaning.
We stayed ok. For the price, we couldn't really expect more.
The room faced west and was extremely hot with the heat wave over the country. There was a fan to help. The mattress is ready to be replaced.
The room was neat and everything you need is there. I would perhaps make a few recommendations, such as a cuddlier duvet (already a bit thin), new pillows (albeit a bit mushy and old), and a new pure white duvet cover. Furthermore, the place to stay is lovely and I would definitely recommend it.

No wow factor. Asked by email for a barbecue as we will be staying there for three nights - no response. Actually had to cancel the stay. Hoped that maybe they would comply. I think it would be good to meet host/lady. No interaction or trace of owners. Impersonal accommodation option. Will not choose it again for this reason.

It was not the same as advertised.
We have already taken up the issues with the lady. Shower was blocked so water pooled. Black 'mould' on the walls. No reception, if sent via WhatsApp. No outside recreation area. Just a house deep in Potchefstroom with no one in sight. Please note note that if you live in room 2-5 and you stay in room 3, it is very noisy because the door of the room is by the front door, so other guests will bother you.

I had a wonderful stay at "A Touch of Grace". I received a detailed WhatsApp message a day prior to my arrival and was able to follow the instructions to let myself in via the automated gate (called a number and the gate opened. ), and find the key in the deposit box via a code. The room was spacious enough for me and contained everything I needed including an iron and ironing board. I was also able to heat my food in the microwave. Due to load shedding schedule - I came prepared with my own reading light - and was able to work at the small study table in the room. . The Bathroom/shower was spacious and neatly kept with sufficient towels. I absolutely just loved the fact that the Guest House had the full DStv package. I am a news junkie - and was able to flip through the news channels (eNCA; SKY, CNN, AL Jazeera) to be updated on what is happening around the globe as well as in South Africa. This just simply made my evening, despite the load shedding. . The Guest house seemed full, due to the number of cars and all guests respected the rules of quiet time after a certain time in the evening. My departure the next morning was seamless - and I was able to return the keys to the deposit box as directed. I also once again called the cell number provided and the gate opened for my exit. I highly recommend this establishment which was reasonably priced and will definitely return again when visiting Potchefstroom.

Check-in @14:00 is a bit late considering Potchefstroom attracts visitors from outside Nort West because of the student community. Check-out at 09:00 in winter is also a bit early. Other than this, I will come back.

Would suggest that there might be 2 chairs in the room for 2 people. Sounds "travel", we were startled a few times by something falling hard outside or inside the house. Otherwise there are no complaints.
Guesthouse was very clean and has a good overall impression. Although there was no hot water in Room 4. Dumped in cold water both times. Parking just needs to be more clearly marked. Took a few minutes to figure out where I needed to park.

Guest house owners may consider a minimum of LED lighting within the rooms. It's not expensive to implement, a power source, LED lights and a battery (R4000) for the whole house, less than a day's work. You can't fumble around in the dark like that.
Regarding security, I must mention that both mornings the front door as well as the security gate were wide open, but suspect that it was one of the other guests. Mattress of bed can be considered to be replaced please. The hand soap "dispenser" in the bathroom can also be replaced - the tip of the bottle is broken, which makes it difficult to use. There was no milk in the fridge as in the photos, but coffee, sugar and 2 biscuits. Had no room service, was notified though. Appreciated the extra toilet paper that was provided in the box. Had hot water to shower with despite loadshedding - thank you. Keep the system in place with respect to self-reception/check-in system. Impressed with the SMS/WhatsApp messages - very reassuring - thank you very much! I will and have already recommended you to friends and work colleagues should they visit Potchefstroom. Excellent service and help also received from Taahierah (agent) - appreciate the bank details to make outstanding payment this morning.
When we arrived late at night during load shedding, the light in the room was on. This was really noticed and appreciated.
People cut off the plug of the one bedside lamp, so we couldn't use it. There are ants in the kitchen area.
The "rules" about accommodation were unexpected, as no visitors to the premises are allowed. We went to visit our child at the University and he is not allowed to visit us. This hampered the visit a bit as we could only spend time together and visit in public places. Definitely do not recommend for parents who want to visit their children. The check-in and check-out is completely impersonal, which works, but no personal contact with the host and hostess.
No sports channels especially in that it was rugby world cup time. Wasbakkie is a joke for sure. Moths all over the ridges and rear up in the air. Already mentioned where necessary.

There is definitely an eye for detail at the guest house. We didn't lack for anything, from a convenient power point by the mirror to milk in the fridge. The bedding is crisp, the towels soft, everything neat and in its place. It was a pleasure, we could just walk in there and just feel at home.

The water pressure in the beautiful shower could be a little stronger, but everything was nice and clean. TV channels may be customized with more movie channels.

The place was really very well equipped with everything we could need, very nice and the place was very tidy.
Our family booked three rooms that were inside the house. Everything was very beautiful and good. Because we visited one another we didn't lock our doors every time, except when we went out. A strange man (I suppose one of the guests in a different room) suddenly walked into our room. I got a big fright, but he quickly left. A while later there was a knock on the door and it was him again, he wanted to know if everything was alright.
Quiet, private and calm. I stayed in unit 5 and it was a delight. The decor is fantastic! I loved how private it was, during my stay I didn't see anyone and the people staying in the other units were respectful. Overall a 10/10 experience.

At the last minute we had to make arrangements for our son who could not yet enter the hostel to sleep with us and Johan assisted us without hesitation, even when we might need an extra night he did his best to accommodate us.

Although there are clear notices stating that smoking is prohibited on the inside, there was a strong smoke smell in the room that was disruptive. It's a shame that there are guests that are so inconsiderate that spoils someone else's visit.
Unfortunately, my 2 teenage daughters and I all slept on the double bed, because the sofa bed was rock hard and the bedding had a funny smell.

The room is freezing cold, no heating. No heaters, it was very cold. One thin blanket. Would not recommend them at all.

It's the little things that always make the biggest difference. From a battery light in the drawer, hairdryer, iron and biscuits. We also had problems with the geyser and Johann was there very quickly to sort it out. Will definitely come here again!

It's just a shame there aren't canopies for all the parking spaces in front of the house. The bathroom window does not have burglar bars and makes you feel a little unsafe to leave it open for ventilation when you go out. An air conditioner in the room would also be an asset. However, everything was sufficient for our needs.

The place is really beautiful. Tastefully made, very safe, user-friendly, luxurious. But you may not receive guests there at all. So you cannot visit your son who is in a student residence. You can't grill with him. There is no garden, only concrete.

In the 3 weeks we stayed there, there was always hot water, there is a neat mobile braai, DStv, but the smaller packages, WiFi was good enough, we stayed in unit 1 where there was a canopy for our vehicle, our clothes were washed when we asked the person who was always available, it was R70 for laundry. Fridge, microwave, oven with 2 plates, all cutlery such as pots, plates, knives, forks, spoons, cups, Johann the owner is always available via WhatsApp or directly call, garden services come regularly to keep yard neat.
The decor is beautiful and all the necessities are provided. The check-in process and access to the accommodation is very convenient. The coffee, tea and rusks are a lovely touch to make you feel welcome.

A Touch of Grace sets a standard that will make it difficult for other places to match - I am now completely spoiled. My room was tastefully decorated with absolutely everything one could ever need. I did not use the kitchenette, but I looked through everything and thought it was one of the smartest facilities I have ever seen. As an older lady, I have little confidence in electronic applications, but everything went smoothly: from the moment I booked and paid on the website, until the gate closed behind me after my stay.

If you need to sleep over in Potchefstroom, A Touch of Grace is a definite yes! The decor, room layout, amenities are stunning. We were welcomed with champagne, chocolates and a cheese board. A first check-in self-service system and thorough information received from owners in advance. This place to stay is highly recommended.
I was helped by the owner with an extraordinary request. I was picked up at the bus stop and dropped off at the guesthouse. Wonderful to know there are still people who will go the extra mile. It's a clean and tidy place in a quiet area. I will book there again anytime. I just couldn't unscrew the sugar container. It was closed very tightly.
The cleanliness, friendliness, excellent service and comfort of the rooms are excellent. My stay there was truly enjoyable and the experience like a touch of grace. For business travel, the only shortcoming in the room I was staying in, is the lack of a small desk/table to make work a little more comfortable.

Very neat and clean. Our room didn't get any sun and was extremely cold. I suggest they install an aircon or heater. There was also no electric blankets and Potch was below -2 degrees.
Their mattresses need attention.
The bath in the living/TV/bedroom was inappropriate - it belongs in the bathroom. A dining table or sofas with soft cushions would have worked better. One had to sit on the bed to watch tv or just to chat. The rooms are also too close to each other - when there are noisy neighbors, it makes sleeping a little late quite impossible. Using a "blower" to try to blow the leaves away from the pavements, when it's time to rest a bit in the afternoons, was not how it works in my opinion either.
Had a wonderful time. It was value for our money, would recommend to others. The weekend was something we would look to do again, everything was 100%. Thank you very much, enjoyed the getaway very much.

I travelled to Potch to watch my daughter play hockey. This place is literally around the block from the school they were playing as well as close to the mall, its very clean, easily hosts a family of 4. The owners are very hospitable and made me feel right at home.

The sunny room where we could relax peacefully was welcome. It was a very cold time of year, but inside it was lovely. In the morning we immediately welcomed the sun through the window again. Bed was deliciously warm. Furthermore, everything was very neat. Only kettle had black downs inside but we could deal with that.

The en-suite bathrooms each have shower except for one unit that has a bath. Every kitchenette is fully equipped with a bar fridge, microwave, mini oven electric kettle and cutlery. Complimentary coffee, tea, rusks and drinking water are provided once-off on arrival.
Attractions in the area include nature reserves and parks, museums, historical landmarks, national monuments, various food markets over the weekend, shopping centres and all kinds of outdoor and sports activities. The Vredefort Dome, a massive hole formed by meteorite impact which has since been classified a World Heritage Site is also quite near.
