I stayed for 5 nights and found the A Whispering Whale an ideal place to "recharge the batteries" - most enjoyable stay. Well-appointed accommodation with all that is needed - from kitchen utensils, DSTV, good bed linen and even an electric blanket (which was not needed). The establishment manager is warm and welcoming and stays in a separate flat on the premises. A Whispering Whale is ideally situated in Jacob's Bay and serves as an ideal venue to explore the West Coast and surrounding areas.

Wonderful accommodation with a sea view and very nice patio. Quiet environment, with friendly people. Apartment is very well equipped and deserves the 4 star rating. However, I would use 'smart TV' instead. limited DSTV channels.

The WiFi is not that good.
The guest house consists of 3 apartments. We stayed in the Brydes Whale unit. It's very spacious, with two large bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large living area and open-plan kitchen. There is also a braai area outside with a large lawn for children to play. There is a low wall right around the lawn. It's quite close to the sea, about a three-minute walk.

This is the ideal place to stay if you are looking for tranquillity and comfort. There are three units with guests, but you still have privacy. Everything was very clean and self-catering was a pleasure, with everything you need and more. On top of that you have a view of the ocean and it's a beautiful environment.
My husband and I just wanted to get away for the weekend to a place that was either better or equal to our residence. A Whispering Whale absolutely meets all the requirements. It is so neat, clean and neat. The dishcloths are pure white, the linen is pure white, the interior decoration is exquisite and of quality furniture and accessories. It is peaceful, safe and then although last but not least - the managers Leentjie Coetzee - what an asset to any business - she is friendly, helpful and instantly creates the calm we were looking for. Thank you Leentjie and also to Lynn Kotze the owner. Lynn called us a few times to follow up and also after our stay, what a friendly bubbly lady to do business with. I recommend A WHISPERING WHALE 100%. This is how one wants to spend a holiday or just a short break.

My lover and I stayed there for a weekend (the Humpback Whale) and it was everything we could wish for: clean, tidy, exquisite finishes, all amenities, quiet and peace. The fact that children under 14 are not allowed makes it extremely suitable for people looking for silence. I will definitely stay there again. Leentjie is very helpful and next time we will try her cooking skills.

We stayed in the Bridal Suite which is a fully equipped living unit with 2 double rooms, beautifully furnished. The kitchen and living room were tastefully and luxuriously furnished. The service offered by Leentjie Coetzee as manager was professional. Would stay there again anytime.

Als is very clean and tidy, there is everything you can think of in the unit, even a coffee percolator! Bedding is clean and in good condition so you sleep very nice and cozy!

A relaxing weekend with a breathtaking view in a very neat comfortable luxury unit!
80% of the time if you see photos of a place on the internet and you get to the place then you are disappointed - als is much smaller. Not at a 'A Whispering Whale' - the 'attention to detail' impressed me the most - although it was also clean and luxurious. If I could say one negative thing, it is that it is perhaps a bit expensive, especially if you would have stayed a week.
Lintjie, was a great host, it was very peaceful, we were very lucky we had great weather. I found the place to be excellently fitted out, all the crockery and appliances were of very good quality. In fact everything in the unit has very good quality. Will definitely recommend it to others.
