We loved the rooms she gave us as it was more spacious then what we expected. She was very accommodating and I already recommended the place to family and friends. Very nice, especially if you need privacy and rest.
Lady went out of her way to get us to the property. Unfortunately, she does not say that the signal disappears as soon as you get close to the end, which gives off a terrible search after a long day on the road. No hot water for shower, only in separate room that has a bath with hot water. Men did not shower at all, which was much needed. Photo on the website is not at all what the entrance and property look like. Also walking around the house in the dark with luggage - not a well maintained property at all. Definitely got better value for our money elsewhere.
This is the second time I book and stay with Carol. And again not at all disappointed. She goes out of her way to have everything ready for you and if you need something you can just ask her. Was there with family this time and they were also very satisfied. Will book there again.

Alwyn Accommodation was an amazing nice place and we were very spoiled. We were not bothered at all and could just enjoy ourselves.
This is our second time staying here because it is really affordable and very neat. The hostess immediately confirmed that we still had their directions. What you see on the website is what you get. We were out on Saturday night and the hostess informed us that the power was out due to the rain and simply also explain where the paraffin is light. She also gave an alternative contact number in case the power doesn't come on and her phone's battery might run out. We will visit there again soon.
First, we spent nearly an hour just trying to track down the owner. The mobile phone reception is so bad there that you have to drive up to the hump to get reception. The photo on the website reminds you of a nice farm setting, but you are squeezed into a small room, fenced off with walls. The bed is so hard, you could swear you are sleeping on cardboard. Probably a very high density sponge. The toilet paper is not 1 ply, but 1/2 ply, so low quality, it is full of holes. The shower's water does not run out, it pools, because the outlet is installed at the highest point, instead of the lowest point. Ordinary outdoor faucets in the shower. The cold and hot taps are not marked, so you had to run the water before you could determine which tap was hot. No bedside lamps. Well, for R400 you probably couldn't have expected better, but there are certainly at least basic things that belong in a room. If we didn't have to stand in the sun for an hour, maybe we would have gone into the place with a different attitude, it's only for a night and it's better than driving back to Pretoria, but effort was definitely lacking then the place has been converted for guests. Will definitely pay more attention to pictures of the place next time before I book.

We were only there for 1 night but received the best service. Directions were excellent and the place was comfortable, neat and clean. The birds that woke us up gave us the feeling of a wildlife park. I only gave the location 3 stars as it was a bit difficult to find the exit in the dark even though we were already there in the morning. It was also actually a bit far from our venue, but that's my own fault because I waited too long to book a place and didn't do enough research. Despite this it was a pleasant experience and I would go there again and recommend them. Thanks Carol!
I was worried about the environment at first, but it was lovely to stay there. The crisp white bedding and towels made me feel very much at home! The customer service is excellent. I had a very nice stay and felt good to return there after the day. Thank you so much Carol!
Carol and her husband are pleasant people. My husband and I just slept there, and were out all day. We did not enjoy meals there. We were offered the Honeymoon suite, were surprised by the idea, but there is a hanging closet for clothes missing, bathroom mirror so high that even a tall man won't be able to shave. Solar heated geyser. We had to shower in cold water because it was rainy.
Please improve the sign posts. Quality of equipment and facilities can be improved.

I made the reservation for my parents. My mother had to go for a major operation in Randfontein the next day. The shower did not work properly and there was no hot water. The owner texted me the next day explaining that my parents should not expect 5-star accommodation if they only pay R200 per person per night. I'm sorry, but a working shower and hot water is a basic comfort for me. The owner's attitude towards this problem was unacceptable to me. She needs to make sure the facilities are working if she wants to rent them out. Unfortunately, we will never support this guest house again.
