398 guests' feedbackWonderful place to stay with everything you need and more. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.
Very nice. The town is quiet and the gardens beautiful.
It was a fantastic place to spend the night. Will stay there again.
Only stayed 1 night, but very cute place.
Aan die Oewer Graaf-Reinet Guesthouse was truly the best stay we have had on our trip. Thank you.
We enjoyed the overnight stay. Very satisfied.
Nice place to stay with kids.
Long-legged spiders in corner above (w/wave), hot tap left at sink.
It was nice. Close to everything. Fast friendly service.
Everything was there. A nice place!
Well appointed self-catering accommodation.
Safe and quiet, environmentally friendly, beautiful town.
Thank you very much for the friendly reception. Cute little place. Perfect for overnight.
Had a great stay and will definitely stay again.
Very nice, fridge running and lots of cold water inside the fridge, used the pool to cool down. Nice!
From PE always sleeps there and it's fantastic.
We were 10 people staying over in two rooms. Lovely place, welcoming people. It was a very hot day when we arrived. The swimming pool was not very clean, but the overnight rooms were very accommodating. The one room was spacious and great for five people. Unfortunately, the kettle was dirty, both inside and outside. The upstairs room had electricity problems during the night, and our friends did not have a good night’s rest because of the heat and the air conditioners not working. The parking is also a little bit cramped up.
Our sleepover was pleasant and comfortable.
Despite the 41 degrees of the day, it was very nice. Pool was unfortunately green, but still chilled in it. Apparently borehole water that turned it green. Furthermore, air conditioning and beds were good and worked.
We had a very nice stay. The only thing that bothered was that the WiFi was very slow and therefore the TV did not work.
Very nice stay! Thank you very much.
Relaxing and quiet. Enjoyed the Karoo-like view on the premises. Enjoyed the swimming pool.
On the shore is a very nice place. The deterioration is visible. Broken faucet in the bathroom. Dirty sheet. And most of all the pillows that feel like stones under your head after 5 minutes! We have been sleeping there every year for the last 6 years and it seems like there is new management. I don't know. But the thought occurred to me to maybe look for another place next time.
It's definitely a lovely place to spend the night if you have dogs and children traveling with you.
Lovely spacious and tidy accommodation. Thank you very much!
We had a very comfortable and pleasant overnight at Aan Die Oewer Graaf-Reinet Guesthouse. The pool was refreshing after a long day!
Very nice, thank you!
We enjoyed the stay very much. Would recommend it to anyone. I booked 3 units, 2x 2 sleepers and 1x 5 sleeper. Two of the units were great; however, the Vlakvark unit was not up to the standard of the other 2.
The unit is great, with own entrance and braai area. Secluded from the other units. Parking was a little tight but manageable. Our wifi wasn't too great and couldn't connect to Netflix etc, but we then noticed on the last day that the router wasn't plugged in. The main bedroom bed made a big creaking noise when turning around etc.
We had a wonderful stay. I would recommend that the larger (i.e. more expensive) rooms be booked for more than one night's stay. The only inconvenience was the hot water that comes and goes when you take a shower. The service was very friendly, and guests' privacy is taken into account.
Not value for money. Bright light coming from the 'space' behind the bathroom window and the sliding bathroom door does not fully close, so light in your eyes all evening.
Slept well. Amenities inadequate. Space quite limited.
Room was dirty and full of cobwebs. Sheet was awful and full of "fluffs" that felt like sugar granules. And our bed made a terrible noise, so every turn was heard.
The place is spacious but we were disappointed to find previous guests food etc around the stove and other parts in the place. Even parts where things can be put down were dusty.
I have travelled over 10 days and made use of you. All the places I have been to were good, except for this one. When we arrived the incorrect room was given to us, also the entrance door was full of bees circling. I then advised this was not the room we asked for, and then was given another house, which had the basics we needed. However, the unit lacked utensils, only had 1 pot, no proper knives, no cleaning clothes and liquid, flies, the stove was faulty, the TV did not work, the kettle was dirty and given the excuse that water caused the kettle to be dirty, had no replacement. So basically could not even have coffee or tea. Insects and generally it seemed that the house was not cleaned. We could not wait to get up the next day and leave in a hurry, was not a great experience and the staff, did not even attempt and just apologised.
It was disappointing. Cleanliness was not what it should be. Hand washing container in the bathroom was dirty. There were no dish towels and cloths in the kitchen area. There were no extra blankets and I had to ask for them because it was bitterly cold. One expects in the winter that it would be available. The air conditioner did not work. Bedding also not what one expects.
The dogs along the road barked all night. The second night after load shedding, the power did not come back on at all, so we could not turn on the air conditioning. The pool was closed. The gates slide open and close and cannot close.
Room was smelly, power issues and not cleaned behind beds. Looks like there is no proper care being taken of the property.
We stayed in Ribbok. There is no fireplace or separate toilet as per description. Parking is rather cramped. The hot water tap on the washbasin is about to come out of its socket. I had to hold it in place to use it. There was a dirty hand towel in the bathroom (which was replaced). There are no views of mountains or the game reserve. I did look at some of the other rooms which were better equipped, and I complained about the facilities in Ribbok and was brought a toaster. When switched on, the electricity of the block tripped. There is nowhere to wash plates except the bathroom basin. Overall, it is not up to expectation. Better to pay more for better quality.
Of all the places I've stayed, this one is the worst but also the most expensive. Porch and trash on porch dirty. Door cannot close properly from the inside. The dirty shower hole's grate lays aside. The toilet is badly stained. The sink faucet rotates. The skirting boards at the entrance to the bathroom are filthy. The beds are not up to standard.
There were guests in the rooms next to us who made noise all night. The guest got outside people who were visiting him.
We experienced absolute pathetic service! From 19:00 until we left the next morning we had no electricity. We had no alternative light during load shedding. Our food and medicine could not be kept cold. The meat we wanted to grill that evening was an impossibility because no light Our neighbors did have light during the load shedding period (19:00 - 21:00). The swimming pool could not be used (a notice on the entrance gate stated that the swimming pool was temporarily not in use due to a cleaning process). We called the emergency number at the front door to report the electricity problem, but we only got an automated message that the owner of the number was busy and we could not leave a message as the "mailbox" was full. We then only sent an email, but no one has responded until now (two days later). Two to three further emails to the owner still went unanswered. Our rate per night was more than what visitors paid in the other units. I let the owner know by email that I want my money back.
Neat and clean and it was a great time.
Very nice, friendly people and good service.
Good place to stay, nice stay.
Incredibly beautiful and tidy, felt like our home away from home. Very friendly staff.
I had a very nice stay.
Very nice clean and hospitable oasis. WiFi a plus for teenagers. Secure parking.
We once again enjoyed our sleepover. From old to young. We stayed in Eland, which is wheelchair accessible.
Had a very nice weekend. We will definitely come again.
Aan die Ower is the best guest house with its friendly customer service to spend the night. So centrally located and close to everything. And thus why my family and I are going to spend the night for the third time in a row.
Would definitely recommend the place.
Will definitely stay here again!
It was lovely to spend the night here after a long drive. The service was friendly, the facilities clean and tidy and everything was beautiful.
We were kindly received and upgraded. Thank you very much for giving me room to maneuver for my health.
Fantastic location, lovely, spacious unit! Will definitely spend the night here again if we drive this far. Pleasantly surprised!
Had a good stay, we braaied and had a couple of drinks with family. The host was great. First time in Graaf Reinet.
Neat and clean accommodation.
The only thing is there's no stove to cook and the only option, besides buying a stove, is to braai.
Fortunately, the reception helped out with heating a dish. Phase 6 load shedding caused the backup system to struggle. 3 solar panels of about 440 watts should solve the problem.
During loadshedding we had light. Well-informed about the situation in Graaff-Reinet with the water scarcity and the warm water stance of the venue.
Our only 'issue' was that our shower didn't work. We arrived late at night and were tired but unable to shower. Thought it was just the water pressure, but the sink's pressure was 100%. The next morning it reported and we were then told that there were problems with the pipes that could only be sorted out in the new year. The shower in the room next to us (and I suspect the other rooms) was 100% (I checked) and we would have appreciated just a heads-up or even if they could have put us in another room. But either way - hope they get it sorted because it's actually a really nice place. Their website also says they serve breakfast, but that wasn't the case either - maybe they just need to bring it up to date and make the necessary changes for the sake of travelers planning around it.
The beds were firm and comfortable. The linen, cutlery, kitchen accessories and furniture were above expectations. Unfortunately, the front door's hinge was loose, making closing difficult. The shower floor was not cleaned. We had to wash some of the cutlery before we could use it. The one bedside light's switch was out of order. The guest house has more potential, if only someone would address the little foxes.
Would definitely recommend Aan de Oewer as an overnight destination.
I feel very unhappy and deeply disappointed in the customer service on Saturday by the lady on duty. Our plan was to spend the day at the pool. We were only able to spend an hour at the pool, only to be told we had to be out of the pool by 5pm as there was a function starting at 5pm. Only to be told the next day there were no functions. If we knew there was going to be a function, I never booked us in.
Wine rack in the kitchen is horribly dirty. Beds are very hard. A funny smell in the unit.
We spent a pleasant three nights. Unfortunately the hot water cylinder jammed and we had to shower in cold water. However, they were so nice and allowed us to shower in another room.
The pool was a blast!
Would like to see it better equipped eg a bowl for salad etc.
Yes, had a good night.
Had a great stay, will definitely stay there again in the future.
We spent a lovely 3 nights in GR at Aan Die Oewer. The Eland unit was neat and spacious. The battery system that keeps lights and TV running during load shedding was a winner. The outdoor braai area was blissful and on the colder evening the indoor braai was a winner. Despite some bad reviews I read beforehand we were really pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed our visit. There was ample parking next to the unit. It was neat and clean. It was relatively well equipped. Our little house was not serviced the first day as indicated, but that didn't bother us. The location was really great so on the side of town. The gate is also not closed, but I did not experience the area as a high risk area. Would recommend Eland again.
Only 1 negative thing is it is advertised as a B&B but does not serve breakfast.
Very nice place. Looks like nice barbecue places.
The toilet in main bedroom leaking and maybe upgrade bathrooms. The inverter is awesome. It really made a big difference. The fan and aircon was also very nice. Also thanks for Netflix. With children, all this makes a difference.
The bedding was not clean.
Rooms very small and cramped for the price. One expects value for one's money.
The unit was clean, but we experienced the following frustrations. Sink in the bathroom does not have a plug. In the triple bedroom, none of the bedside lamps had bulbs, and we had to borrow one from the other bedrooms. There is no sink in the kitchenette. A large bynes is present at the top of the stairs. The car gate just closes, and I wasn't convinced about the safety.
Apartment was dirty as well as the bedding. It is said to have secure parking, which is not the case at all. Anyone walking by can slide the gate open.
Absolutely weak. The bathroom door does not close. The booking says we can check in until 19.00, but they call 16.30 to say they close at 17.00. Inept receptionist. Linen does not fit over the bed. The list goes on.
Now this was not what I expected.
I think the guesthouse needs an upgrade. I was disappointed to see what they had to offer.
The name to the "Shore" does not exist. It doesn't even sit near the river at all. It sits in the town itself. Just before the stay here, we stayed in a 5-star cottage in Bloemfontein. It was R1104 a night and here I hardly even want to give 1 star, R1000. The aircon is turned off as soon as you turn it on. The water in the shower has almost no water. The cauldron was slimy, so people check the cauldron first before you want to use it. At the pool area you are told not to let the dogs out, so you have to go in slowly because you can't open the gate wide. The pool is also still green. It is absolutely "weak". The gate of the place is not even closed and this is where all the cars are parked.
The children can swim well. The place is very neat with great service.
Thank you very much for allowing our puppy to stay with us. And also for the air conditioner in rooms, it was wonderful to spend the night with you.
Friendly reception. Place was very nice clean and tidy.
It's so peaceful and a good place to stay overnight for the long drive.
Get your shower ready. Nobody wants to stand under a shower that just drip-drip after 12 hours in the car.
Really nice and suitable for on the go.
The lady on duty was very helpful and friendly, even though it was her first day. .
Upon arrival we were received very kindly. We then got a room with an indoor braai. With still chips in our freezer, we don't think twice and barbecue in our room. Wonderfully cozy in a clean and tidy room. We slept wonderfully on a very comfortable bed. Warm spot in cold Graaff-Reinet.
See stars.
Very well located. Very good value for money.
Safe place and easy on the way to/from Cape Town.
Good informed reception. Safe-quiet.
We only spent the night there - didn't explore much of the place, but what I saw is to be recommended.
Very convenient stop over.
Very cute unit with everything needed. Air conditioners worked very well in both rooms. Showers need attention, especially in the master bedroom, shower head holes are clogged and spray in all directions. Unit was equipped with uninterruptible power supply, but unfortunately with power failure it did not work due to batteries that had packed up - so we had to request that light be brought to us. There were no candles, lanterns or light available in unity.
It's the second time I spend the night here. Very centrally located. Service is friendly. Rooms comfortable and interesting.
The rooms are clean, warm and so beautiful. It helps us to take care of ourselves.
The only criticism I have is that the bin and teaspoons were not clean, but other than that, I will definitely book again when I come to Graaff-Reinet. And I recommend them to anyone else looking for accommodation in Graaff-Reinet.
The room and its amenities were adequate. The establishment is situated in a quiet area of town, so there was no noise from passing traffic.
Place neat and clean. Air conditioning was somewhat difficult to adjust.
Friendly and kind service. Room fully meets overnight traveler's needs.
See stars
We had no water to shower (with a baby this was a problem). The aircon was struggling to work and it was almost 40 degrees. For one night, for a pit stop, it's not too bad, but we wouldn't necessarily stay there again.
Very neat and comfortable.
Only 1 negative: no food preparation table or big enough table in the room, but a table outside. Not convenient to work outside with food.
The shower was not very good and needs an upgrade. There was no milk for coffee or tea. As Graaff-Reinet is a very historical town it would have been nice to have a brochure of where all the historical sights are.
A wonderful visit in a peaceful environment.
Very nice place to relax after a long journey. Bathroom in the Seenbok could do with renovation.
Overnight on my journey from KwaZulu-Natal to Cape Town. Well received and happy with the service.
See stars.
Good overnight accommodation and close to shops if needed.
Treated well as guests. Only overnight and can't fully know the place.
Security can be tightened.
The accommodation met the expectation.
Safe and secure parking.
After traveling 890 km, the guest house is a good place to rest.
Very nice and neat.
Room was not checked before using, light dead, air conditioner faulty and was 3 degrees at night.
I beat myself up because the website's "selection items" don't work well. We have been using the website for many years now and the following are invariably marked as requirements; self-catering, secure parking, braai facilities, TV and in recent years also WiFi. Once there, we find that Aan die Ower is not self-catering. The room allocated to us therefore has no self-catering facilities, apart from a fridge. Fortunately, the TV does not work and the friendly and helpful receptionist moves us to a room that is almost self-catering. There she also can't get the smart TV to work on DStv, the thing only wants to show Netflix. We would have the same experience with a smart TV the next night in Bloemfontein. Tv or not, we just stay there, barbecue the evening and have a good time. The room just doesn't have a day-old wardrobe or hanging closet. Don't understand it at all, but at least it's just a one night sleepover.
For an overnight stay on holiday, the accommodation was good, a bit limited parking if there were many people booking.
On arrival we were made aware of a bee hive at the entrance to our room, the bees however became aggressive and stung my dog, one of the people in my group and another guest. When we wanted to discuss the issue with the owner who was relaxing at the pool, I was informed I couldn't take my dog into the pool area due to one of the resident dog not being friendly. The receptionist and owner were accommodating by moving us to another room and moving their dog inside and away from the pool area. The room we were moved to was more suited for a family and not a group of friends as it is open plan, however the room had a great outside area for braaing, aircon and fan, comfortable beds and amazing shower. The room could be cleaner with visible dust around, better self catering utilities as there was no dish cloth or drying cloth.
It was easy to get as there are signboards all over town indicating how to get there. But getting there the reception is a bit cool and not friendly at all. We asked for directions to a restaurant and they were very vague. We had to ask for the Wi-Fi password. The only light working was in the bathroom, not the room light or at the beds. At least they were helpful in moving my date to an earlier one. They are still advertising as B&B, but not doing breakfast anymore due to Covid - really?
First of all, there were "problems" with a double booking and one does not feel like such a thing when one is tired from driving. Secondly, the air conditioner did not work at all and there were no warm sheets either. Thirdly, we were woken up at five o'clock the next morning by guests who had no respect for other guests and, on top of that, parked our vehicles. We stayed overnight at six different destinations but Aan De Oewer was a big disappointment while we wanted to stay overnight in Graaff-Reinet with great excitement.
See stars.
Dirty plates on our microwave when we walked in. Bedding has old stains on it, our neighbors had no water and the people next to them - an elderly couple had no power, we borrowed lamps for them. It was not load shedding. Not a good experience at all this time.
We had booked and paid for a room for three, but got a room that was for two people. There were only two towels. There was no water for us to have a proper shower, even though the power was restored post loadshedding. The parking was a nightmare. We sent a message asking for a restaurant reservation to be made on our behalf but this was not done. When we got to the restaurant, it was fully booked. Luckily Pioneer Restaurant made a plan for us. We were disappointed and this was not value for money.
Very basic. No place for suitcases or to hang clothes. At R400 per person per night, at least you expect something better than Ricoffy. I will not stay there again.
I specifically asked for safe parking but the parking is practically on the street with two sliding gates, one of which cannot be closed and which is open. The lady at reception was also unable to give me a tax invoice and after long arguments only emailed me one the next day.
Personally, I feel the cleaning is not up to standard. Shower door, mattress cover, floor tiles need a good cleaning. DStv did not work, very limited channels, not even KykNet.
The family unit is on an upper floor. How is he going to go up and down stairs all the time with 3 young children. Bunch of bees outside the bathroom window and the door we have to move out of. Had to eat food on our beds. Because the table is outside in the wind. My husband was stung 2 times by bees to move past it with the suitcases. Horrible experience! Definitely would never recommend! There wasn't even enough decent parking.
Unit and bedding smelt of smoke. Not properly cleaned. Aircon suspect. Shower screen could be a safety risk. Parking was awkward and not secure.
The roof leaked like a faucet so that a large part of the floor was wet, three out of five lights were dead or not there at all, the toilet was not properly clean, the sink and shower outlets were packed with hair, the bedding was old and full of stains, the floor (where not wet) was not even swept properly. The worst thing is that the reception was not available after 19:00 to report the complaint or to ask for another room.
Owner did not do anything about our complaint and he had other rooms available.
Wasps blocked entrance to our rooms. No WiFi as advertised. No TV service at all.
The shower and floors are not clean. Bedding has marks on it. Table outside was not wiped before arrival. Hot water is limited to certain times which is absolutely unacceptable for a three star guest house. Aircon is part of package but is switched off. The person who lives in a unit under the kudu unit plays TV deafeningly loud and one can hardly have a conversation with anyone when the person is watching TV.
Rooms were very nice and tidy. Room has everything you need for an overnight sleep. Service was excellent. The WiFi was a problem but it rained very hard on the night we stayed. Apart from that it was a very nice visit.
Would love to stay here again!
Very friendly owner and beautiful rooms. All you need.
Beautiful view and absolute value for money! Will definitely stay again!
The place is very nice and tidy. Price is very good, actually for such a place thought you would pay more.
Good place to stay, spacious rooms, well furnished, friendly service.
Lots of hospitality and tranquility.
Very friendly reception. Put us in a better unit than booked. Very comfortable and clean. Sorry it was only one night. Will stay there again.
We slept in Gemsbok. Wished we had some meat to grill in the lapa. Beautiful apartment, would definitely recommend.
Our place was booked for a unit with stairs, after I explained to them that my parents are elderly and walk with canes they went out of their way to give us another unit. Forward good service!
We will definitely visit Aan Die Ower again. The Eland house is beautiful. We only stayed there for 1 night, but will definitely stay for longer next time. The house is clean and tidy. The air conditioning is a big treat.
This is now our second time in the Gemsbok unit. The receptionist was great and got everything we asked for done. The unit needs some attention (a few cracked glass bowls, down door knobs on kitchen cabinets). Nevertheless, very nice stay. Room is wonderfully spacious and has more than enough of everything for a family of 4.
The accommodation is comfortable and well located for a night's sleep. The air conditioner was welcome.
Fantastic place, had a great stay.
The room was stunning, staff really friendly and helpful.
Nice quiet part of town. Solar power as backup for power outages.
There were a few things that were a problem with the kick-in. The layout of the parking area is cramped if the guest house is fully booked. Although it was raining, mats, towels, cloths to dry your feet were not provided when you entered the unit and we had to use one of our towels to dry the floor. There are no facilities for unpacking or hanging clothes. Furthermore, the room was neat. There was only rooibos tea and we had to use our own tea. The WiFi password was not indicated anywhere in the room and we had to contact the owner/manager to obtain it, only to find out that the WiFi was not working.
The family unit is very nice and well equipped. A nice place to sleep.
Had a nice sleep over.
Aan Die Oewer is a very neat and clean place to stay in the heart of Graaff-Reinet. It lies on the banks of the Sondagsrivier, with picturesque views. Everything in town is close by and the owner is helpful and friendly.
Remote control of the aircon did not work which was somewhat of a frustration.
Nice place to spend the night.
We felt that more supervision was needed. The bread available at breakfast was old and mouldy!
Very accommodating, friendly.
Room was well furnished, clean and tidy.
Would definitely recommend Aan Die Ower. Service was great and very friendly receptionist. Beds of good quality and a nice hot shower.
Totally good enough and affordable to stay over on the road.
The room has everything needed for an overnight stay. Nice view and safe parking. Breakfast was adequate and staff friendly and helpful.
The drain in our shower in our unit was not draining the water, on mentioning it we were given a plunger to rectify the problem ourselves - which did not help at all. The electrical plug in the one room was not working, the placement plug did not work either. The water in the one room was cold as it appears the units shared a geyser. Only the one unit had milk in the fridge - we had to go out to the local garage as it was after hours. I know these may seem small problems but they were an irritation.
Excellent service - the TV in the room I originally booked didn't work and then I was put in a very luxurious room - at no additional cost!
A bonus is that the dogs are welcome. Delicious breakfast, really very hospitable.
We stayed one night on the way back from our holiday - the Gemsbokkamer is very well equipped and wonderfully spacious, with a nice private braai area and a view of the small river. Service was good overall. Feel free to buy the wood at R20 a bag, great wood!
A second bin (one in the kitchen) will come in handy. Meals are also not currently provided, but this is not recorded on the website. The 'door' by the toilet creaks terribly and is disturbing if someone visits the toilet at night.
Warm welcome by Michelle. Felt at home immediately. We didn't get there until after 7pm, but that wasn't a problem. Parking was limited because they were fully booked and there were trailers, but Michelle arranged for our vehicle to be covered and behind locked gates. Really appreciated it! Room was clean, beds comfortable and there was hot water. There is also a nice lawn where the dogs could stretch their legs. The guest house is easy to find from the main street. Would definitely recommend Aan Die Ower as an overnight stay.
Only a fridge, microwave and kettle were provided which meant that self-catering was not possible and bathroom sink had to be used to wash mugs.
Very nice stay, unfortunately you have to ask to have something in the room, as in the self-catering unit where we stayed there were no plates or cutlery.
We didn't know how to watch regular TV channels. We still don't know if there was regular TV or if there was just Netflix and Youtube. Maybe a note is for you to know.
We couldn't watch TV at all. The channels were not available.
Photos look better than the reality. Grounds need attention. Mattresses and pillows need changing. Very rowdy guests arrived at 1am and partied loudly until just after 3am. No input from the owners and we did not wish to have a confrontation with other guests that had been drinking. Gates not locked at night. Pity as we were looking forward to our stay on the river.
The original room booked was not what we got, but staff accommodated us and changed us to a better option (as per our original request). Very helpful and quick in sorting it out for us. The owner was very friendly.
Their showers are a danger. Cold and then fire hot then cold again.
We booked this accommodation especially for the pool. There were 3 dogs walking around and I have the impression that they used the garden as their toilet (or something else must have smelled like). My kids left the pool area within 5 minutes, without entering the water since it didn't look that appealing. Internet was not good either.
I will definitely not stay at Aan die Ower again. The cleanliness of the kitchen area was not up to standard, there is an indoor grill in the kitchen and the whole room smells of smoke and old grease. I must have killed 30 mosquitoes and would think that one would have a little mosquito machine in one's rooms. Bathroom doors were mancolic, no bath towels.
No complaints. Comfortable and clean; quite adequate for a quick sleepover.
No internet, no TV. Unit and linens were not clean. Unfriendly. Plague with bees.
TV reception a problem ─ host not helpful. Just pointed out our cottage did not show us around place.
The price we paid for a night's stay was expensive considering we had to pay an additional R300 for breakfast, which was very ordinary. And apparently, because I never asked for breakfast, because I expected it to be included, they never prepared breakfast. Views are non-existent, accommodation is ordinary, management is disorganised.
Comfortable and tidy place. Everything needed was at hand.
Als is perfect, but cleanliness in our unit was not the best. Broken things, rubbish bin outside back door still full of previous resident's rubbish.
Before we made the reservation, I found out if we would be able to check in earlier on the day because we have a wedding in the afternoon. It was confirmed that it will not be a problem, we just need to let them know when we are on our way that day. When I called in the morning, I was not received very kindly. As for security, there is a gate, but it doesn't work on a remote and doesn't have a lock either. So, the gates are basically open all the time for any person to come onto the premises. Parking is also a problem. If you are not one of the first people to park or others park a little badly, there is no parking behind the gate. Some parking spaces are also too small for a van to fit. When we checked in I asked if it was still ok for the breakfast the next morning as requested with initial booking. It was confirmed and the receptionist said I could either come and pay immediately or the next morning. I told her it's ok, we will report the next morning before 9 for dinner as requested. When we arrived in the morning at 08:30am for breakfast everything was closed. When I rang the bell the receptionist opened the door and said she was not going to come for breakfast anymore. We were then served breakfast in the end. Apart from a delicious omelette, the rest of the breakfast is rather disappointing, from the cold milk and instant coffee with a kettle without water. There is also no cheese or fruit available. So, we just ate the omelette and went to buy coffee in town. We stayed in the Springbok room. Unfortunately, the floors were not very clean. It needs a proper scrub. You can't even move from bed to the bathroom without your feet feeling dirty and sticky. There is also unfortunately no wardrobe or hanging space to hang even one piece of clothing. Persons should also note that there is no hairdryer in the room. There is a microwave in the room, but only 2 teaspoons for coffee. Unfortunately, there is no privacy either. The persons in the room next to us basically sat on our front porch and visited. So, although the unit is separate from the guest house, it is directly adjacent to the other unit. What was also worrying is the fact that no one was wearing masks when serving breakfast.
DStv not working, Netflix not working, no TV. WiFi not working. Linen stains on. I don't mind paying. But I think the owner should be more involved. Also very nice stay.
Reception great. Room neatly laid out. No TV. Air cooler broken. Fan adjustment broken. Room was extremely hot. Had cockroaches in our bed. Softest bed I've ever slept on in a B&B. Allowed people to barbecue in the parking lot with an open fire, between our vehicles. No electric power for the entire evening until morning. Pillow a poor quality.
No hand soap, no dish soap or dish towels, no WiFi. Facility is advertised as bed and breakfast, but no breakfast available, not even at extra cost. Reason?"Covid". Fact, we are at level 1.
Little sleep due to dogs barking for hours, alarms going off all night and the guest house's battery (solar?) alarm making noise very early in the morning. Guesthouse does nothing about it.
Room was very stuffy and smelled musty. Maybe they should use this room for a storage room - is under the other rooms/buildings.
Photo of swimming pool implying that guests can use it, forms part of the private residence and did not have access to facility. Equipment in apartment outdated.
The TV wouldn't work. When I reported this the staff were extremely inept and offered no help. The unit was dirty and there was no soap at the sinks in the bathrooms - after all, it's COVID. One of the guests' Fortuner, which was parked in front of our unit, had its alarm going off all evening and severely disturbed our rest. No one paid attention to it. Very unpleasant place to spend the night, especially after a long day's drive from Pretoria.
Was regtig goeie diens en pragtig.
Had a great time, boma at Gemsbok unit is fantastic, unit excellently equipped.
See stars.
Host was very helpful and welcoming. Everything needed was available.
We had a great time. Quiet environment. Nice breakfast.
I just loved the bathroom and the shower especially. Beautiful, spacious room.
Really enjoyed it and had fun
The room is first class
Upon arrival we were met very kindly. I would definitely recommend Aan Die Ower.
Good hospitality and very helpful.
After a long journey through the Karoo, Graaff-Reinet was a welcome oasis. The service was excellent, and the rooms comfortable. We had a great time at Polka, a restaurant recommended by our hosts. I highly recommend Aan Die Ower.
What a gem, we will definitely want to stay there again in the future!
Owner suggested us another stand alone unit and was actually glad we stayed there. Stayed by the river.
The floor was slightly sandy. Other than that, we had a nice stay. Thank you
Only worry was that the car was not under lock and key.
Had an amazing fun time. Staff very friendly.
Would have liked to stay longer to visit all the tourist spots in the town.
Quiet area. Friendly people.
Enjoyed stay, Friendly staff. Received personal attention.
It was just a shame that the shower's water didn't want to run out and pooled in the shower.
Cozy place with a nice view.
Excellent location and facilities.
For just an overnight stop, you don't need anything more than that.
We slept in the Eland unit and it has everything needed for a family. Friendly reception and good 3-star quality. It was clean and tidy. Will stay there again.
Well located for easy access to Camdeboo National Park and main routes.
Comfortable and very friendly staff.
I was kindly received. The room was clean and tidy and I could sleep peacefully after a long day on the road. The Ower B&B was convenient on my route and I was able to leave early the next morning. I didn't have to worry about the company vehicle because there was secure parking.
No masks were worn, sanitizer or social distancing.
Had a good night's rest, it's a quiet environment, with a very nice breakfast the next morning. Will stay at Aan Die Oewer again on my next road trip.
Very nice place to stay, was clean and tidy. The view from the verandah would be very nice if there was water in the river, but unfortunately it is dry there due to the worse drought. Breakfast was nice and sufficient.
Air conditioner very noisy. Shower head needs repair. Unfortunately, TV and WiFi were not available.
Centrally located and meets my expectations.
Would like to see the security improved, the steel gates are permanently open during the night, why this is a bit strange.
We booked 2 rooms and only one had a fridge that was not working neither was the TV. Beds were not at all comfortable. The cleaners were not wearing masks.
Air conditioner was a bonus. Rooms neat.
Although there was a microwave oven, no glass bowls or dishcloths and dish soap were provided. No hand soap. The rate is reasonable but despite that the accommodation is disappointing.
The first day the bathroom light was off. I could not close the door of the hanging cabinet. they did restore the light. The second day the connection behind the toilet leaked. The exhaust fan in the bathroom left such black pieces in the sink and on the floor. The fan had not been cleaned in years. Couldn't report because no one was there.
They are more concerned and focused on the fees that still had to be paid than on the fact that we had a practical problem, partly our fault and partly their problem. Wasn't very helpful and friendly about the difference - we only stayed one night but had to pay in full. Self-catering unit was indeed 'rustic', but with no pots or pans or a stove - you can only braai for self-catering which was not 'right' for us. Plus, the hostess insulted my mask as 'horribly ugly' - not the right thing to do. She promised credit because they were being inundated with inquiries but dates came out of it, not that I ever believed it or really expected it. We find the rustic unit's bathroom unhygienic.
It is 36 degrees outside and no fridge, although it has been indicated that there is a fridge for unit Steenbok and Duiker. Room has a musty smell. There is writing in the room about stains on the bedding, but it does not create a good impression. Area around swimming pool, which is closed and does not look like the picture above, where people would like to relax was very untidy and chair cushions were dirty, also creates a bad impression. A suggestion that can be made is that a no-smoking area should be created on room porches, especially if the guest next door is a chain smoker and sits on the porch and smokes and you inhale the smoke. No filtered water in room - for drinking and coffee and tea. Had it not been so late in the day we would have found other accommodation.
Room, even after an "upgrade" was sub-standard. No PPE, sanitizing or registration. Extremely disappointing.
Although we did not spend much time at the guesthouse, we felt very welcome from the start. Slept well in the tranquillity of the area. Thank you very much for the hospitality.
After a long drive, our house at Aan Die Oewer (Gemsbok house) was exactly what we needed. Very spacious, very peaceful! The new place is truly luxuriously furnished and we rested well! Would definitely recommend as a stopover!
Very satisfied, but would have appreciated cutlery at our unit. We braai'd and had to eat from the fire. Breakfast very tasty but had to wait very long for our food and there was no room for us in the dining room.
On the Shore we will definitely see again! Karoo hospitality at its best. Luxurious rooms and a very cozy boma and braai place!
It is very well located and the staff is very friendly and helpful.
Very friendly reception on arrival. The friendly lady who welcomed us, was very helpful in recommending a quality restaurant and even made the booking for us. Facilities in the unit we stayed in was excellent and we had a great stay.
Staff very helpful and friendly. Very very nice stay there.
Definitely the best place in Graaff-Reinet.
The bathroom door handle was unfortunately broken and the washcloth at the sink very dirty. It's also a pity that the whole place smells like smoke from the indoor braai after a braai.
Slept well, well appointed unit, even packs of ice. Beautiful surroundings, quiet and peaceful.
Very peaceful environment. Amenities for both busy and quiet teenagers.
We had a nice quiet afternoon with an indoor barbecue for the evening. Had a good time and fell asleep in front of the TV in the evening. Home away from home. Also got good recommendations for breakfast.
Friendly reception and very comfortable, tidy accommodation. Would recommend it unconditionally.
The breakfast was very nice. They could pay a little more attention to making it pet friendly.
Friendly reception, helpfulness and hospitality.
Room was very neat and clean. However, the room was illuminated too brightly by the security light outside that it felt like it was never night. Linen in bathroom of very poor quality.
Deposito was paid, but the room was already taken by someone else and we then had to take second best. It wasn't bad, but would've prefered it to be on the ground floor with our own braai place.
Just right location to finish the last trek and be in George before 09:00.
Very satisfied with the accommodation, very tidy, well equipped, lovely air conditioners. Pool was a bit dirty to swim in.
We were received very kindly, facilities were neat and sufficient! The fact that my Yorkie was also welcome made it very pleasant.
Rooms were clean and neat with everything you need. People were friendly and helpful.
Just a pity the pool was green and 10 minutes after arrival they wanted to know what time we were leaving the next morning to replace some tiles for the next guests.
This stopover seems to be popular with travelers, even though the drought doesn't leave much of a river. The room was clean and comfortable with enough space outside for our dachshund to roam around. The breakfast is standard and basic.
Our stay was comfortable and peaceful as Aan Die Oewer is located in a quiet part. The room was spacious and tidy and the kitchenette had everything we needed for self-catering accommodation. We will definitely stay there again if we come back to the area.
Directions very good, well located and easy to get back to main road for the rest of the journey.
Very friendly reception. Very helpful. Neat residential unit. Clean and tidy. Thank you for the hospitality.
The B&B is very convenient but due to the drought, the so-called river probably did not flow since the flood. But the place is safe for you and the vehicle.
Friendly staff. Good reception, clean and tidy with a delicious breakfast. Close to the business center.
After a long day on the road it was a pleasant experience. Friendly staff, nice peaceful night's rest and a delicious breakfast before we left.
We were warmly welcomed. For one night's stay it was good. The breakfast was delicious.
See stars.
The physical condition of the B&B leaves much to be desired. The garden furniture is burnt by the sun and the varnish is peeling off. The unit's door opens and closes with difficulty, the door also closes with difficulty. The curtains are dirty. The bedroom window blind does not close properly. The grill is bent and dirty. The garden is not well maintained.
Quiet village, quiet place, would recommend anyone to stay there.
Baie goed ontvang, baie skoon en netjies. Lekker kuierplek langs die swembad. Aangename en vriendelike eienaar en personeel.
Ample safe parking close to rooms. Clean air-conditioned rooms. Quiet area and centrally situated. Would return here when next in the area.
We really enjoyed staying in the Springbok cottage. Nice chat with the owner - shared hunting stories - oh what a nice evening. We were able to have a barbecue - everything we needed was provided for us, even though the unit does not have a kitchenette. We will definitely stay there again.
Just stayed for a wedding. I know Graaff-Reinet well and didn't know about Aan die Oewer, but was pleasantly surprised.
We had a great stay in a clean, neat and modern place. Great value for money with excellent service. Will definitely stay there again and will recommend it.
We spent the night here on our way to Suiderstrand and had a great rest! Breakfast was delicious, als was very clean. Will definitely use Aan Die Oewer again.
The Eland unit offers incredibly good value for money.
Thank you for your hospitality, help and service. I'd recommend this B&B to any business traveller looking for accommodation, because we could get ready in peace for our meeting.
We had a great stay at Die Oewer and they were very helpful. Comfortable rooms.
We had a great time in the peaceful rural atmosphere with the giant old akker tree a treat for the soul. The rooms were basic, but clean and tidy and the service was extremely hospitable and friendly and helpful. We slept well in a comfortable and clean bed and the surroundings were peaceful and quiet. We felt safe at all times and you could go for a nice walk in Count Reinett's quiet and peaceful streets.
Had a great time. Warm and friendly welcome. Was able to accommodate us at the last minute. Room nice clean and comfortable. Swimming pool a lafenis.
Beautiful town, feels like back in the old days.
My wife and I travelled from Pretoria to PE on 10 Nov 18 and stayed at Aan De Oever. We were tired after the ling road, but decided to accept Lorraine's recommendation to go to the Valley of Desolation. A good recommendation because it was the extra mile's drive worth. Certainly a beautiful view! The neat and clean chalet (Springbok) was equipped with an air conditioner (very welcome in the Karoo's 38 °C when we stopped there!) And very comfortable large bed. The other basic necessities were enough to make sure we could enjoy the rest of our padkos for dinner. Then we sat and enjoyed a couple of cold ones with Hubri and Christa (owners) and it was clear that they were the most promising example of Karoo hospitality. The swimming pool area is really beautiful and the waterfalls and fish tanks let you totally relax. And did we sleep well? Well, with alarms that had not been set up, we slept until almost 08:00! So decide for yourself. We left Aan de Oewer with recharged batteries and a quiet promise that we will definitely stay there again. Many thanks to Hubri and Christa. Next time we braai with you!
We had a very nice stay. The rooms are neat and everything works. The kids loved the 3 different fish tanks/ponds. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
We were very warmly received and Lorraine immediately helped us with things to see and do in and around Graaff-Reinet. Our room was ready early and we could just check in. At first we just wanted to park our trailer and come back later. Every little problem was solved immediately with a big smile and a lot of kindness. The garden offers a nice opportunity for the children to get rid of their excess energy. If I ever look for a place to stay in Graaff-Reinet again, it will definitely be at Aan Die Oewer! Thank you very much for a wonderful rest.
It was a very pleasant stay and our dog wasn't a problem at all. Will use it again.
Average 3 star accommodation with good bedding in the quiet part of town. Safe but difficult parking if your car is big (at the chalets.) Table was not ready for breakfast at our agreed time. Very friendly and efficient receptionist. The smell of soot in the living area due to the built-in braai spoils the living room's atmosphere. Nice view on the shore is a bonus. The one toilet did not let water into the one bathroom.
We were only here one night. It was nice to be able to stop at a neat place and rest a bit. Nice to sit around the fire and visit for a little while and could easily hit the road again early next morning. Breakfast was really nice.
The unit was clean and tidy. However, the grill was still dirty with embers from previous grilling, no brush or anything similar to clean it. The roof fans and air conditioners are a plus on a hot day. The double bed in the main bedroom is not actually a double bed, but rather 2 single beds pushed together. But other than that it was convenient.
Convenient and comfortable and good service.
A cosy place if you want to explore the area around Graaff-Reinet and need a place to sleep for the night. The place is close to nature and makes you feel like you are away from the city.
The B&B is very beautiful and centrally located, it was a hot day and the air conditioning was welcoming. Room was neat and clean.
Somewhat messy with electrical cords and plugs hanging out everywhere. They need to clean properly, especially in the corners of the bathroom. They only use a mop to move the dirt around. Sometimes you need to go on your knees with a brush to reach all the spots. But we did sleep well, even though one night was enough.
We had a very nice stay at Aan Die Oewer. The room was simple and everything you needed was there. In the evening the gates were open, we just tried to close them every night, because our room door was very close to the street. Furthermore, we also wanted breakfast, but it was not included (we would have paid extra) but no one asked us if we wanted breakfast, it was also just the 2 of us there for the whole weekend. But other than that it was very nice. Graaff-Reinet will definitely see us again.
Your accommodation met all the requirements and we had a comfortable stay.
Neat and peaceful overnight accommodation. Nice braai facilities. We had a great time relaxing after a long day on the road.
We received a friendly welcome and had a very nice stay. Will definitely return in the future.
We had a lovely stay and will return if we are in the area again. Children also enjoyed it and were very comfortable.
After a long journey we enjoyed a good night's rest at Aan De Oewer. Our reception by Lorraine was generous and we immediately felt at home. Our room was clean and the neat, made up single beds with nice firm mattresses, but not too hard, pleasantly surprised us. Thank you very much Aan De Oewer, we will stay with you again.
Exactly as the website suggests. Friendly, helpful and very neat and clean. Aircon was great during the heat wave! Beautiful guesthouse with a delicious breakfast. Omelette was lovely. Will recommend it. We just stayed on night, but the lovely, spacious room had everything we needed. We could visit the Valley of Desolation from there which was incredibly beautiful. It is a must for a visit. From there Nieu Bethesda is also within reach. Wonderful experience. Thanks to Aan die Oewer Guest House. If we are in the area again, we will definitely stay there again.
Accommodation was lovely and the family room was spacious and comfortable.
The staff is very well trained and very friendly. Everyone was very helpful and we immediately felt at home. It was a wonderful experience!
We had a great stay and slept well. The rooms were neat and clean. Had a nice breakfast and ideal for an overnight stay between long journeys. Will definitely stay there again.
We got a little lost but the receptionist was so friendly and we were at Aan Die Oewer within minutes. We were welcomed warmly. Our unit had stairs and that could've maybe caused a problem for one of us. So we asked for another self-catering unit and was given one immediately. Die beautiful and clean 2 bedroom unit immediately made us feel at home. Would definitely make use of them again.
Located in a tranquil part of the town. We really slept well and were well rested for the journey the next day. Will go back.
Everything in its place. Rate should include breakfast or be R100 cheaper.
See star rating.
Pleasant stay. Rooms, bedding, etc. been well taken care of. Sink in kitchenette would be appreciated. Although water conservation is requested, there are no measures such as e.g. water-saving shower heads do not. Also let guests know that water may not be to everyone's taste.
It was a joy to go home here. Friendly, competent staff, neat room and a view of the mountain as well as a little porch where you can sit and breathe in the nature. Totally relaxing.
Environment appears safe and peaceful. Experience special hospitality.
Very good service and always available to give advice regarding restaurants etc.
Outstanding service from LekkeSlaap and guesthouse staff. Nice and close to eateries, yet quiet and safe area.
Our chalet was nice and big and well equipped. We were kindly received. Will stay there again if we are in the area.
Very neat and comfortable accommodation. Very well and friendly received. Unfortunately there are no air cons as it says on the advertisement, it made sleeping at night very difficult. The night we were there it was 36 degrees through the night. So maybe it's right for the winter. If the heat does not bother you, this place is ideal for an overnight stop.
The reception was particularly friendly. Two lights were broken and the decoder was switched off and we couldn't get reception. It was fixed the second day after we reported it. The second day there was only rooibos tea available.
Basic facilities in a peaceful area.
Bathrooms were very outdated, garden needs a good clean up and paint a bit to much, paving everywhere.
Fantastic, honest and makes the best omelets.
Very good. Well equipped. Centrally located. The service was top notch.
Will definitely book again.
We stayed in the Eland unit and were 5 adults and one 3 year old child. The unit is equipped with everything you might need for an overnight stay. Everything was clean and neat. Friendly reception on arrival.
Owner put a lot of effort. Accommodation upgraded at no cost. Room spacious and tidy. Quiet pleasant environment.
Feel free to see the stars.
Slept well. Enjoyed the air conditioning. Clean shower and toilet.
Air conditioning in rooms great. Will stay here again.
Thanks for the aircon. This is a beautiful guesthouse with friendly customer service. The breakfast was delicious. We had a pleasant stay. It was very clean and neat. The guesthouse also offers a book with information about the town and a map with tourist attractions. Thanks so much.
Very clean and tidy. Nice stay. Friendly reception.
Aan die Oewer Guest House definitely falls within the top 5% bracket concerning value for money. The service is prompt and friendly, the layout practical and the cost truly economical.
Very nice stay, sufficient facilities and helpful staff. Graaf-Reinet is a beautiful place.
We stayed over one night on our way to a wedding in Queenstown. We received very good service and the facilities were also very satisfactory. We had such a nice stay, didn't want to pack up and drive the next morning. We will definitely be back again for longer. The place is suitable for couples and groups too.
Neat, well-equipped accommodation. Very friendly reception and helpful with questions. Would like the gates at the parking area to be locked for safety reasons. Otherwise it is a nice place to rest on the road.
Value for money. Neat and tidy rooms and bathroom facilities. Breakfast (optional) was delicious. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Even though the people at Aan die Oewer weren't aware of our stay there, they resolved it immediately. Christa and Loraine are excellent! Thank you so much. One of the best things about Graaff-Reinet is the Polka Restaurant near the guesthouse.
LekkeSlaap offers excellent service and I can recommend anyone to use them for their bookings.
Nice atmosphere, information and location.
Reception was friendly and stay was very pleasant. Will feel free to use the guest house again.
Very neat, clean linen, very hospitable and good value for your money.
Warm reception and we got some good sleep. The room was clean and neat and we didn't have anything to complain about.
Sufficient for one night stay. Small things required: basin at kitchen, reading lamp not suited for reading, general lighting not good.
Friendly people. Very clean and tidy, but they can make more TV channels available.
We felt the room wasn't worth 3 stars. Basic facilities. No aircon in flat or ceiling fan in the main bedroom. No hairdryer in the room, had to go and ask for one as well as soap to wash hands. Blankets and loose pillows on beds weren't clean, will recommend that they are washed more regularly. We had a good rest, but the heat without a fan was a bit uncomfortable. We will recommend the place, hopefully the management will keep an eye on the little things.
It was neat, but the room and pillows smell like smoke.
Well maintained, ideally located close to restaurants, clean and they have at least an aircon installed.
Many thanks to Aan die Oewer Gastehuis for your kind hospitality! Me, my husband and our 1 year old son stayed with them in December on our way to our holiday destination and were really impressed. When you walk into the room, there is an air conditioner for the Karoo heat. The beds are covered with white linen, which looks very neat and clean and there is a microwave and large fridge which came in very handy. We informed them that we wanted to barbecue for dinner and then all the amenities were brought to our room - they even offered to make barbecue sandwiches or salad. My little boy cooled down in the pool and played so much with the 2 dogs. We will definitely see you again!
Quiet, nice part of town. We will definitely use this again if we have to stay in Graaff-Reinet.
We will go to Graaff-Reinet again. The place is very clean and the people are very nice.
The hospitality was out of this world! Pampering and extra effort was made to make it special for us. Very pleasant facilities, and beautiful area. We went to see the Valley of Desolation. Would like to stay longer in Graaff-Reinet. Definitely recommended.
We slept over on the way to the Western Cape. Very friendly reception and lovely stay. Breakfast was also delicious!
The friendly reception, tidy room with everything needed for the comfort of tired travelers and the peaceful garden where the holiday can begin make this guest house an excellent stopping place.
It was delicious. It's a shame we only stayed one night. The Karoo hospitality was wonderful.
One should actually spend more time at such a beautiful place than just staying overnight. Within a short distance is the most beautiful viewpoint and the Kamdeboo National Park with kudus and moose that surprise you with their size.
Hospitality and service great. Room was very neat and all facilities, as promised, were there.
At Aan die Oewer Guest House you will receive a residential unit that provides you with most amenities. Shops and supermarkets are within walking distance. The layout of the Eland living unit creates an atmosphere of togetherness for family and friends. I would like to find out more about the hunts.
Very tidy, well equipped, pleasant and friendly welcome.
The host went out of her way to ensure that our needs were addressed and the swimming pool was most welcome after a long day in the car.
Bed comfortable with good bedding. Everything clean and in working order.
Friendly reception and located in a picturesque setting. The perfect overnight stop when the long road gets too long.
One room of the unit could do with air conditioning. The owner was very friendly.
The television and other cable hanging down and crossed looks untidy. On the breakfast menu it is mentioned that various jams are available - untrue - had to ask for marmalade, but they did bring it to me later.
Very nice people. Perhaps pay attention to small details, such as turning on the heater in advance. Thanks for the help, especially since we got there late. It was very hospitable and we felt welcome! Thank you!
Hostess was not friendly or helpful at all. Bathroom facilities not up to standard at all. The lady who made breakfast for us was excellent.
Three single beds in a space barely big enough for one bed. The exhaust fan is not working. The owner parks under your room window and makes noise and talks. There is no chair to watch TV. There was no breakfast on Christmas Day. We didn't even see the pool because it is part of their private house. The owner's wife is very friendly.
See the stars below.
Very good and would highly recommend.
It's clear that the owners are very passionate about their guests' experience.
Everything was well organized. We had no problems. They were very helpful and friendly.
The service was good and the room was tidy.
The accommodation was comfortable. It was very hot, so the air conditioner in our room was great. In the evening, the children missed DStv, because we could only catch SABC 1, 2, 3 and eTV. The WiFi didn't work either. We are in love with Graaff-Reinet.
See the stars below.
Pleasant stay. The price is a bit high.
Friendly people, but room is only small with two single beds.
See the stars below.
The place was very nice and convenient for us. We will definitely stay here again!
Stay was welcoming friendly and enjoyable. Rooms comfortable but did need a little maintenance.
Very nice stay, well received and owner's hospitality is fantastic.
Compared to other guesthouses, this one is a bit on the expensive side.
I would suggest that a bar fridge and a comfortable chair (instead of sitting only on the bed) in the rooms will definitely add a lot of value.
The value for money is definitely a problem, as the breakfast was not included and we had to pay extra for it. The type of accommodation indicated that it was a B&B so we assumed that the breakfast was included in the price.
