We only stayed for one night, upon arrival there was a wide choice of a dozen rooms.
For affordable accommodation it is ideal and well located, but not for long stays. Only the necessary items available. Will recommend to make services available during load shedding.

We had a great stay and the apartment (No 6) was spacious with all the necessary stuff needed for a self-catering unit. Well done. A suggestion is that they have a file with all the attractions of the town as well as the restaurants in a file in the flat for easy access. Maybe a better system to return the key at the end of your stay. A box where the key can be dropped in and also for the gate to open by itself when you're inside the property and want to leave. Other than that, a great place.

It was middle in load shedding, but he made sure we had enough light in our unit. Their service was great. If we go somewhere that way again and need accommodation, I will definitely book with them again.

The room was spacious and clean and had a fan for the 40-degree hit for which we were most grateful. The host made sure we had enough coffee and milk after our long journey and recommended a delightful restaurant.

I think due to load shedding WiFi was a problem.
Tom let our 2-year-old sleep on the floor (4 people in 3-bed accommodation) at no additional cost. He also helped park our bulky trailer and made a reservation at a local restaurant on our behalf. We were extremely grateful for all his help, and cannot recommend this accommodation more highly.

Dar was even power during laodshedding. Plenty of safe parking in a quiet neighborhood.
We traveled with our grandchild and were warmly welcomed by Tom. He quickly made us feel at home and even provided a camp bed for the little one. The place was very nicely decorated, and the bathroom was spacious and very clean. The nice cup of coffee and home-made biscuits were a lovely welcome. Ample provision has been made for the "loadshedding". We felt very peaceful and safe and had a nice view of the mountains.

However, what turned me off ever going back there were the berries falling on the roof with a thud, the whole night long. I eventually opted for earplugs to try and get some rest. My daughter said she hardly slept as this woke her up throughout the night.
The room was nice, but part of a cluster of adjacent rooms. A noisy crowd moved in and spoiled our visit completely. Not as advertised. This could be a sleepover if you use earplugs but definitely not a holiday destination!
Place was well-equipped. Had plugs to charge cell phones. Internet is available during loadshedding, as well as lights. Very clean and well-equipped places.
I must say therefore a wonderful B&B. Nice private too and beautiful lawn for photos and setting. We will definitely book again in the future. Many thanks to Tom.

Very clean and tidy accommodation, will definitely use Tom's place again. I needed an iron and hair dryer and these were provided. It's very close to the main street and you can walk where you want to be.

We stayed one night at Aanhuizen, but could easily have stayed longer. It's a beautiful site on the mountain with different sized rooms. It was clean, tidy and very well equipped to offer us a nice shower or bath and a good night's rest. Olwyn specially waited for us when we arrived later than the check-in time and was so friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay at Aanhuizen again, it was a very pleasant experience.

A beautiful place to stay in a beautiful town!
We booked a family room as my 85 year old mother was traveling with us. I called to find out if we could come before 14:00 on the Saturday in question and we were told that we could come anytime from 11:00 and also because my mother is the third person and not a young person the owner move us to separate rooms. We were so surprised and it was great especially because the guest house was not empty.

The host was very helpful, but the facilities need a lot of attention and for the three days we stayed there, there was no cleaning or any sign of staff.
When we arrived we had to call for someone to open the gate. At the end of the day, my wife opened the gate herself. The shower was not pleasant for me at all, because you either burned or died from the cold. The cold water faucet was faulty, which means no one checked it before the guests checked in. The owner then sacrificed to take a shower in the next room. Feeling like we are camping with our bag on the way to the ablution. The mattress is bad, no other word for it. The room was clean.
Toilet must have been leaking for some time. They will have to fix it.

I had to be in Swellendam for business and decided to make a weekend of it. It was our second visit in two months and the rush between Cape Town and Swellendam was too bad. We were in room 2, nice and big and we didn't fall over each other's feet. Tom was a nice companion when my wife let me out on parole, and we decided then and there that it was going to be our second home. Because of our business, we will be operating there for another ten years.
We really loved the room itself but not its location. The parking lot was right outside and other guests had to walk by our room to get to the reception etc. which made it very noisy.
The sleeping facilities were to taste and so were the bathrooms and the surroundings for a quick walk in the late afternoon.
The room was clean and tidy. The bathroom's trash can was unfortunately not emptied before we entered. I would also recommend that there should be a hairdryer in the room. Roof fan also did not work but host made up with a standing fan. I would also like a bathroom mat that I could step on when you get out of the shower. Other than that everything was good.
Stay was good, I would go back again.
More TV channels would be a bonus, what's available isn't always personal preference.

Aanhuizen Guest House is a good point for going to De Hoop Nature Reserve.
Very good rooms. The host loves what he does and knows the area. He gave us very good advice, even ordered us a take away dinner, advised on the best wine cellars to go and was very helpful in every way. To make the stay even better, the owner may want to consider placing a small fridge in each room. That is all we missed! The roosterkoek and moskonfyt were winners at the breakfast table.
