It was awesome. The staff are very friendly. Didn't want to go home. Can't wait to go there again. Everything was perfect.
If you're looking for a place where your kids can play and run around without cars constantly rushing up and down, this is the perfect place. We had a great time. The children had fun swimming and swinging. The campsite with the lapa is very cute and not so cluttered. You have your own space and the ablution blocks were pretty clean. There is even a cute lapa block with hot water where you can wash your dishes. The animals that walk freely up and down are a highlight for the children. I've read people complain about the dirt road, but that's just the way it is! The whole world cannot be tarred. If you want to camp, you must camp! It really was the full outdoors, wild, away from your phone experience. The people are helpful and friendly. We will definitely visit again.
We suggested that they put lights on the barbecues at the chalets. Everything was clean when we arrived at the chalet. The hot pool's pipe unfortunately packed up while we were there. I hope it will be ok when we visit again. We had a toilet that leaked down the pipe and reported it. When we walked into our chalet, Lucas was there with his spanner to repair it. The lady at the office mentioned that there is no WiFi up to the chalets, but we had frequent receptions. We would definitely recommend Abba Game Lodge.
Had a great stay. The managers went out of their way to help and make us feel welcome.
Firstly there’s no maintenance done, our unit wasn’t able to lock, no airconditioning, Wi-Fi is not working, no signal. Restaurant is out of service as well as the bar. Only limited stuff available. 3 years ago because of no rain the dam dried out so unfortunately only small fish is available. Water plants everywhere and the jetties are broken, jittery and very unsafe. The lady working there tried her best to do whatever she can to assist, just unfortunate that this place with so much potential is being managed like this. Definitely not worth your money.
We went out to buy groceries, it rained and the bridge to the lodge was flooded, we went looking for an alternative road and we then got stuck in the mud. We informed the lodge, they were not prepared to assist me and my children. We were in the wilderness from 16:00 until 19:00, when eventually a couple who stays in the area found us on their way home and they waited with us while they were calling around for assistance. The lodge had said there's nothing that they can do for us. The lodge should improve ways of being reachable by WhatsApp and actually respond. I sent them sms, WhatsApp and email to inform them that we were stuck and needed their help, they never bothered to respond or even acknowledge us.
Faulse advert: Bedding was dirty. No network in the chalets - even at the reception one had to walk around searching for it. No information given on where to switch on the outside lights by the braai area - only got to know about it the following day after enquiring. Dirty pools. Cleanliness not satisfactory. Only 1 toilet paper supplied per day ( poor quality - 1 ply). No information given on how to uterlise the Gas stove ( very old stove that dont show where to switch on).
This is not a family resort at all. We read on reviews that the hot water pool does not work and we contacted them to find out if it would work for when we go and it was confirmed that it does. The photos and reality do not match at all. Toilet paper is not put out for guests. The grass is long and the jungle gym is rusted and there is virtually nothing left to paint on. It is so small that one child can go on it at a time. The putt putt courses lack work and the holes are covered with dirty water. The grass at the campsites is so long and the bathrooms and toilets could really do with a decent cleaning. The fact that you pay so much per stand and get so little out of it is amazing. The hot water pool is shelling out and not on at all even though it wasn't loadshedding. The outdoor pool's fountain is cracked and peeling and the color of the water is not right at all. The store inside does not even have the necessary things, such as water. We stayed one night and drove the next day.
Was amazed at what a great place it is. Will definitely go back again. Friendly reception, and maintenance of infrastructure is great. Had a really good time.
All is well wish you can find a way to deal with that gravel road.
Service was great. Place was clean and looked fab.
The lodge needs TLC, there is also a misunderstanding regarding the camping area with its own ablution, according to the advertisement there is a lapa, this is not the case. We moved to an area with lapa and shared ablution as it was very hot. The other problem was that Abba was not aware that the entire bill had already been paid, according to them the agency had not communicated with them.
Cute place and quiet.
Dirty. Bed sheets stink. There are literally flies when you open anything to eat. They did not specify on the website to bring Doom, matches, own sheets etc.
The lady in charge tried to assist, but too much. I sensed a I-do-not-care spirit in her. The place can be so much better, only if the lawn and the rooms were clean. Maybe putting a ceiling on the room will do better as most people do not do well with thatched roofing.
Grass and bugs fall from the roof. Stove was dirty.
The facilities are awesome.
My husband and I had a great time camping. The lapas are really a relief for us who went camo with a tent. It was so nice to see the antelopes in the camp. It is also a paradise for bird watchers. Very neat place and good customer service. We will definitely visit Abba Game Lodge again.
Had a nice swim and enjoyed it. Will go again to Abba Game Lodge and Camping Site.
We camped at the private ablution facilities. It was small, but perfectly adequate for our family of four.
Very peaceful stay, we truly enjoyed it.
Friendly and professional service, everything was intact and well taken care of, ablution clean with hot water at any time of the day or night. Plenty to keep everyone busy - hot and cold pools, walking trail, bike paths, large goat population, extra large pitches, firewood available at no extra cost. Grounds and roads very well maintained and some of the cheapest rates we have ever experienced! Will definitely go back to this picture perfect campsite!
We were at the pitches with private facilities - they are very small but adequate. There were large groups in the houses near us, playing loud music until 3 in the morning. It was a bit disturbing. Really enjoyed the wildlife.
The hot pool must be switched on a day earlier. The putt-putt course needs some maintenance. Diet before you go camping, the private ablution block is very small. The bar opens when you ask and is very polite inside. The restaurant was not open during our stay, but looks quite acceptable. Would I go again? Yes, but it will also be the last time if everything is still the same.
And road bad.
More activities should be provided, especially for the kids, and the network is very poor.
We enjoyed our stay, it was relaxing. The greatest frustration was that you only get supplied with 2 rolls of 1 ply toilet paper on arrival as there is nothing supplied in the bathrooms. We eventually resorted to walking around with loo paper in our pockets otherwise you always have to walk back to camp before heading back to the ablutions to do your thing. The directions provided were terrible and the lack of reception does not help things. The route from Modimolle is easier to follow than the one that allows you to cut out Modimolle. The customer service is not the friendliest and unprofessional. Besides this our stay was good.
The animals in the game lodge affected the whole atmosphere, the hot water pool was very dirty and although we were the only campers, a private function's karaoke music kept us awake until the morning hours. There are an awful lot of thorns and we had to buy shoes for the children in a hurry just to be able to walk around a bit. Although they were scraping the dirt road (just up to the dam) the road was very bad and I would not recommend it for anyone with a small vehicle. We checked in a day later than booked due to work, but we also packed up a day earlier due to the disappointments. It is really very peaceful there and definitely for the person who wants to sit and do nothing all day.
The time there was wonderful, a bit noisy, but otherwise it was heavenly.
Ablution facilities were not clean at all. Had a foul smell. Insects everywhere in ablutions. No toilet paper. Washing areas no hot water. If you haven't taken everything, you can just leave, because the store doesn't have much and the town is far away on a dirt road. Roads were washed away and were not fixed either.
This was our second time at Abba this weekend. We decided to camp in a tent this time. It was just me, my husband and our little boy. We choose Abba precisely because the animals walk around you freely and it's quiet. The guests who were there with us the first time were from mixed groups but were respectful and calm, like us. We live in the city and are used to noise. So we were willing to pay to leave the city's sounds behind just for one weekend. We didn't even play our own music or take tablets and laptops with us. On Saturday there were two parties at the lodge from early on. One by the pool (the only area with swimming facilities and where my boy would like to fish) and one in the chalets, below the resort. Both groups dominated the resort and we could not use the facilities, fish or relax at all. At three o'clock in the afternoon, my husband went to the office and asked if they could ask the other guests to be quieter. There is no reason for us to listen to their music 100 meters away. Their music was of such a nature that we had to raise our voices to talk to each other and there was nowhere on the resort where we did not experience the same volume. This is not an exaggeration: We were literally about 100 meters from the chalets, and had to talk to each other as loudly as we would in a club in the city. The office just told us they are sure they will be quieter by 9 o'clock in the evening. Well, long story short: At two o'clock the next morning, there is silence. Of course, the party continued the next morning at 7 o'clock. There was also never any security or patrolling in sight throughout the evening and with management just packing up and going home, knowing there are problems with drunken guests, I would also disagree that Abba is as safe as I thought. All resorts we've been to have a no noise and no trouble policy, except Abba. It shouldn't have even been necessary for us to complain, they should have gone and talked to the guests themselves or applied rules in advance, but they didn't and it didn't sound to me like they ever would. What makes me even more angry is that the day before we were to go, I specifically asked if the functions would cause a noise, because then I want to move the dates. I have been promised high and low, this will not be the case. Well, we hope these once off parties were worth it, because we are not going back to Abba and are going to advise others not to go either. It's a pity. That place has so much potential and was nice for families to rest.
Room was dirty. Bedding was not freshly laundered. Not set up for loadshedding at all. Pool area not ready to receive guests. Got the feeling that the place is actually closed. Dirt road is very bad. And there is no cell phone reception. Wasn't a bad weekend. Just very expensive for what was available to do in the end.
Had a great time, but resort needs a bit of renovation and maybe more staff so that shop can be open. Lots of potential but could be better managed. Can accommodate customers more. No cell phone reception either. Hot pool terribly dirty, freezing cold and with a horrible smell. Toilet paper can be provided in ablution facilities. Locks at bathrooms not working. Terrible noise and loud music until late at night which can be disturbing for some campers.
Relaxing atmosphere and excellent customer service.
Nice rest, wake up to the chirping of birds and in the evenings you only see the bright eyes of the goats that are about 20 m away from you.
No cell phone reception - great.
If you just want to relax and rest, Abba Game Lodge is ideal getaway destination for the whole family - would recommend to everyone.
The Chalets are a bit cramped and old, but very clean.
Very good location, accessible, friendly, helpful.
Place so nice and quite and clean. The only problem is the network.
Quiet area with no signal, WiFi available at the office to let family know you are safe. Can rest well because it is so peaceful. Goats run around the site. Pools were clean and tidy. Bad dirt road to the destination which is very bumpy. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Was very dry when we were there, hope the woodland gets good rain soon. Was very nice.
Covid spoiled things here too. Hope everything will return to normal.
On arrival we were kindly welcomed, everything was delicious. Sites nice and tidy and the wildlife is beautiful. The pedal boats were unfortunately out of order, but the children enjoyed the canoes.
We chose this place so we could do things together as a family and to get away from the city and technology. The aim was to go on a 'nature hike', to be able to play 'pool' and 'darts'. At no point were we told that there were hunters and that we would not be able to go on the hiking trail or a 'game drive'. Because of lack of staff we could not play pool or darts on Friday. There were also power outages on Friday and Saturday. Water was not pumped Friday night, so there was no water until 08:30 Saturday morning. Hot water for shower only 10:30. To the restaurant. Some of the staff were not very friendly, sometimes sarcastic and gave the impression that it was a lot of effort to go out of their way to provide customer service. We were told, "There must be something wrong with you people," when the staff seemed to be calling us for some reason and went to ask if they were looking for us. Although the camping facilities looked very nice, and the place is beautiful, the attitude of the staff completely put us off.
The stay was nice even though we were only there for 1 night. I would say they must improve on breakfast and give 2 slices of bread instead of 1, since there’s loadshedding. They must at least keep the generator running for that hour or two hours for the sake of their guests. Because at night it went off for an hour or two and it was so dark some people were scared in the middle of the night or during the day. The electricity went off and we could not charge our phone during breakfast.
We like to sit outside but there is no veranda with a roof, so you have to sit inside the unit if the sun is very hot. There is no TV in units, so if the weather is bad, you can't do much because it's 11km dirt road, you can't just drive on the bad side. No signal at units which pretty much cuts you off from the outside world. Shop you can't really classify as a shop. Just some soda, wood and ice.
Own ablution block was dirty on arrival. Very small space in toilet/shower area, can barely move. Staff very unfriendly. Hot pool dirty. According to Abba Game Lodge, their pool was painted in early December - where did the green algae come from? Use plenty of chlorine in the hot pool and it burns your skin and eyes. Shop does not not much to buy. It almost feels as if they were not prepared for the holiday season because everything was not up to standard.
Lodge usually gives towel, there was none. Had to sit in the sun in front of the braai, no canopy or umbrella. Shower floor gets soaked, afraid of falling.
The place is poorly located and cost more than planned.
Really enjoyed the tranquility, as well as the game drive. It's definitely value for money. The children enjoyed the play park and verbal trampoline. All we missed was a place outside to hang towels.
Thank you very much for a wonderful weekend. We and our children enjoyed it tremendously. Nice campground, bathrooms clean. Will definitely camp at Abba Game Lodge again.
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. What they offer on site is really of such a nature that you can buy everything from them.
Very peaceful place very beautiful scenery. The staff are very helpful, food and drink excellent, especially R&R and don pedros, compliments to the best barmaid in the north.
Abba's tranquility is soul food for a restless spirit. The small game around the caravan site remains a highlight. Abba's only drawback is the dirt road to it, it quickly steps on corrugated iron and is not comfortable. The road is scraped, but the corrugated iron is troublesome. But Abba will see us, despite the road, a fifth time too. I will always recommend Abba with their caravan pitches.
It was my first visit but not the last. Next time I'll book a lapa. I really have no complaints. Kids loved it.
Go and relax in the bushveld with just nature keeping you company.
The last 11 km gravel road is somewhat bumpy.
We had a good time and well rested, the houses were well equipped and neat.
Seeing as this was our second camp Abba Game Lodge, it was again very nice. Very nice place to visit although the dirt road will always be a challenge for any vehicle, as well as for those towing caravans, we just took it slow. Although the camping area with its own ablution is a plus point, we prefer the camping area with the lapa. It can get quite hot. Then I have to mention. The pond is full. What a beautiful sight to see, but for fishing lovers, make sure it's safe first, because with the torrential rain that fell in that area, a crocodile (still quite a small one) made its way to Abba Game Lodge then found. They were looking for the owner last time and hopefully they found the owner. N.B Abba Game Lodge does not keep crocodiles. The only negative was that a group of young people became quite exuberant, especially with their language. The resort manager kept them under his thumb. But otherwise we really enjoyed our weekend.
Good, neat, clean. Might just have more activities to do.
Beautiful game. nice and quiet
The accommodation was pleasant, but the power plugs were off and the game drive was disturbing. No game and you just had to hold on otherwise you fell off, due to the rocks of the mountain drive, not game drive.
Good value for money, nice family getaway place! Thank you!
Tranquil scenery. Make sure you take everything you need with you.
The place was very well maintained and they were always willing to help. Abba Lodge really has a gem in Chantelle, the lady who runs the bar and meals.
It was a wonderful chance to get away in nature with the goats roaming so tamely among the rondavels. Neat and clean rondavels.
We really enjoyed the tranquility. The facilities are adequate. There are few trees to muffle the noise of other campers, but there is not supposed to be noise. Booking page is a bit misleading, you get either a lapa, or your own ablution, where the booking page makes it appear that you are booking both.
This is a very nice campsite. Nice swimming pool and hot water pool. The staff is not always friendly, but still good. Will definitely go there again. The plus point is the lapa with the pitches, especially when it rains. Affordable.
Abba Game Lodge is beautiful and peaceful. We slept over for a wedding that we attended that evening. We were thus unable to participate in all the activities. The farm is beautiful, the breakfast delicious and the people friendly.
We rested well. Thank you very much.
I did enjoy visiting the lodge, I've even recommend it to a friend.
I like the place, although no entertainment for teenagers. No lights at braai (big problem) at caravan lapa pitches, braai with a flash. Outside lights at ablution or washing places outside are not switched on in the evening and must go there with a flash. I think someone is just not doing his or her job when it comes to this. The store has almost nothing. Instead, have to go to town to get necessary stuff, so make sure you have enough supplies, otherwise you'll go to town again.
Very much looking forward to the game drive, but little seen. Understand it's winter. Should please life jackets provided for boat trips. Really enjoyed the hot pool.
There was nothing broken, but I think a few cans of paint (not maroon) and a nice finish here and there can make the place look much nicer.
Dirt road to lodge was not in good condition. Washbasin in bathroom of chalet too small. No privacy. Chalets, braais and camping sites on top of each other. No comfortable chairs in chalet for 2.
We loved the beautiful nature and the surroundings. The dirt road though was a challenge as well as the neighbors having parties every night without the necessary rules of the management in place. The warm water swimming pool can use a good cleanup. Lights at the camping sites will also be appreciated and the ablution block needs some upgrading.
Beautiful place, just a pity you book a game drive and after the second game drive do not see any animals, after which guide confirms there are no animals, but still office books game drives. How?
On arrival the first unit was not clean. Bedding and unit. The second unit was full of dust and cobwebs everywhere. It may have been very luxurious before. Currently, the bedding, mattresses and pillows have been lived out and not pleasant.
The rules are not applied. Loud music and noise should be quiet by 22:00 and that is not the case, and management does not do anything about it. We did not sleep for 3 nights in a row due to people on the campsite who have no respect for others. Hard music, screaming and swearing and that after we complained to management after the first night. Management was warning them and that was that. The second evening. the same thing happened and management wasn't even there to silence them. It was very unpleasant and we are going to contact Abba Lodge to claim 3 nights of money back. There was also a very bad smell of clogged drains coming from the bathroom. The bathrooms are not very clean either. A very bad experience for us that was supposed to be a quiet weekend.
The weekend was peaceful and quiet and one could just sit back by the campfire and enjoy nature. Unfortunately, there are sometimes other people who do not respect the nature, tranquility or rules of the Resort, and are terribly noisy (loud music, etc.). Except for the disturbances that made our stay wonderful!
The road to the lodge needs to be maintained or customers be advised of a bumpy gravel drive so one could decide what kind of motor vehicle to use.
I paid for six days and left after 2. Chalet small and full of dust. Uncomfortable seating. Swimming pools both dirty. Just not worth the money.
The 11 km gravel road to get there is really not suitable for normal road caravans. Maybe a good idea to warn people about this. Our lapa was very dirty and not cleaned in a while. Bathrooms were not kept clean at regular intervals either. To top things off, our neighbours were playing loud music non stop and no one from management bothered to do anything.
Very dirty and unsafe. Bad management. I can write a book about our bad experience there.
It was our first visit to Abba Game Lodge and we were very pleasantly surprised by the location of the place. The dirt road was a bit of a shake, but that's instantly forgotten when your tent is up, everything is in place and the fire is burning and you relax. The fact that each campsite has its own lapa is a great idea and I like the braai which is low enough to sit around the fire after you've grilled or made pot. Although the common ablution block needs renovation in my opinion, it is very neat and clean. We were also pleasantly surprised with the newly renovated showers, bathrooms, toilets and dish washing area on the outside of the communal ablution facilities. There are plenty of activities to keep the splashers busy and to cool off there is a hot and a cold pool. There is also an 8 km walking route to get you set for the day. The restaurant is beautifully laid out and leads out to the lapa where you can relax with a view of the dam. There are also rowing boats to relax a bit on the pond. I would really recommend Abba Game Lodge to those who want a peaceful stay away from the hustle and bustle. For the social media lovers, there is WiFi available at the restaurant. We would also greatly appreciate it if you put Doornpoort as the turn off to Abba Game Lodge on your road signs. It just makes it much more convenient.
Clean and neat. Our chalet's bedding needs to be upgraded, but it is still clean. Tranquil with game that walks around everywhere.
Very nice and beautiful environment, quiet and without disturbing mobile phones.
We had a lovely time at Abba Game Lodge. Place is very clean and tidy.
Had a wonderful time and enjoyed our stay. Gravel road a bit long but worth it.
Was our first visit to Abba Game Lodge And Camping Site and definitely not the last. A quiet weekend with good food and friendly service. Clean and well equipped chalets. Especially enjoyed joint braai at lapa and value for money.
We really enjoyed it and will definitely go again.
I went there with my kids, a friend and her kids. The place is amazing. My kids were crying when we left. I will definitely be coming again. I enjoyed every minute.
We had a great stay. The people are very friendly and hospitable. The wild that walks among the chalets is exceptional.
The gravel road was bad.
Wonderful resort absolutely beautiful in the Hart of the bush-veld. Game all over. Lots to do. We also enjoyed the entertainment. Two small issue outside the resorts control. Long dirt road hard on the caravan and then no cellphone reception. They do have WiFi but not at the stands. Some would enjoy the peace and cellphone isolation.
Me and my friends have enjoyed staying and the staff was friendly.
Beautiful place. The Nyala walkway was great.
Lovely views, spring goats grazing in front of your chalet, swimming pools, delicious food personally prepared for you, bush barbecue under the lapa. Even the weak cell phone signal does not detract. TV and WiFi available at the main buildings. For the children trampoline, mini golf, pool table, table tennis, large chess set. Game drives also on booking.
Would love to see the pitch when everything is green and the ponds are full of water.
Would definitely recommend Abba Game Lodge to anyone looking to relax. Everything from the reception to the Restuarant & Pub and the staff was awesome! Thanks to Chantal, you are an asset to Abba Game Lodge. Delicious food, lovely warm pool and cute chalets. We enjoyed ourselves!
Campsite clean, grass sites. Place was busy and bathrooms needed to be cleaned more regularly. Also hot water ran out in the morning so if you didn’t shower very early or during the day the showers were cold. Great stay nonetheless.
Pitches and ablution are very neat. Lapa is a bonus, especially in the heat and when it rains. Children enjoy seeing the animals that roam the lodge. Nice hiking trail. The only, big negative is that noise is not managed after a certain time in the evening. We stayed three nights. First night bunch of drunk teenagers fighting and swearing until what time. My husband went to silence them. Second night group of people who started at 11 o'clock with loud music, shouted until 2:20 next morning. Contact no. From manager on website is apparently wrong and I couldn't get hold of anyone to come and shut the people up. I went to complain both times. Third night was better, but you could still hear the background that they had almost stayed up all night. We were four families with children, and everyone had a weekend of bad sleep. So much for getting away from the city and its noise. The lodge offers so much, but if such behavior is not managed, it will keep people away. Penalties must be imposed.
Maintenance is good, although a worn out gas stove in unit is a concern, as the stove is old, and one cannot even see the markers on the stove. The stove is placed under curtains, which is a fire hazard for sure with the thatched roof on top. Because of we were too afraid to use the stove. As a regular RCI resorts visitor, one cannot compare, not at all modern, but as said, it's clean and despite the stove and e.g. bottle opener/steak knives not there, we had a nice stay.
We had a great time there. Special location for the family fun time. The facilities are good. Loved the private lapa and fireplace and the beds were very comfy. The pool, tractor rides, dam and games are great fun. However, the negatives: the chalet was not that clean, especially the tiles around the stove and kitchen. We found the stay too expensive per night. The little shop is seriously under stocked and can be upgraded to serve the visitors.
We had a great time there, the smiles we received from all staff was incredible, just please inform your clients in advance about network connectivity at the bottom chalets, we only found out the following day after arrival that network connection is only available at your reception area.
The pond and the hot pool are empty. The dogs are washed in the pool while our kids swim, there were no game drives available, you can't go on a game drive with your own vehicle, the staff's friends had their own party and took over the whole pool area. In addition, the unit is terribly small and not fun with two children when it's raining and you don't feel welcome at all in the reception area where the dog is sleeping on the couch. Furthermore, the staff was not exactly friendly. I think they should reconsider whether they want to keep it a lodge or whether they want to use it as a private residence instead.
My overall experience is good but they can do a bit more to make camping better, no trees for caravans and swimming pools are not very much attended to, not much for kids to do and the shop can also be better stocked.
I would just like the dirt road to be properly scraped or tarred, because for people with regular cars and not vans, it's a challenge.
1. Bad smells from cattle pen. 2. Owner's dogs somewhat of a nuisance as well as their droppings everywhere in the camp area. 3. Shop very poorly in terms of general necessities such as bread and milk. 4. Dirt road not too rough, but passable. 5. Security is poor. Came to the gate on several occasions that it was open with no guard in sight. Also found on a few occasions that the guard is indeed there, but sitting and sleeping. Was pretty stiff overall. 6. Bathrooms were neat and clean and private. 7. Persons who cleaned barbecues were very effective and punctual and friendly.
No road signs from Modimolle main road and dirt road not in good condition. Hot pool was not available due to interview over the weekend. Experience definitely worse than last visit.
Would really appreciate it if the management of Abba gives you the choice when you book to be informed that the entire camp will be taken over by 140 students on the Saturday, especially if you just wanted to get away from the city and noise for the weekend. Buses full of medical students arrived early in the morning and as they got off the bus smooth bottles were also thrown around. So you stay in your tent/room all day.
The staff were super helpful and very skilled and friendly. The facilities are neat and well maintained. Downside: No cellphone reception in the chalets, however, there is WiFi in the lounge area.
It was very enjoyable and fun. The kids enjoyed it a lot.
Renovate and upgrade your existing home and everything will be fine.
The kitchenettes in the 2 bed luxury chalets are a bit tiny. The campsite is neat and the signs of good management are visible everywhere. This includes maintenance of facilities, management of fauna and flora etc. I just think that it could be very pretty if the grass and field are green.
The folks area very friendly and the area is beautiful and peaceful. Peaceful and safe, will definitely book Abba Game Lodge again.
The folks at Abba Game Lodge were all so friendly, made us feel at home. Abba Game Lodge is a tranquil place for people who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
My husband an I really enjoyed our rest at Abba. Next time we will stay a day longer. Everyone was so friendly and the service was very good. Beautiful area.
Great, just one problem, the man at the gate who regulates the gate is not friendly at all and treated us rudely and asked what is our problem that we go in and out so much. Please pay attention to that.
Very nice, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
The best for me was having the animals and birds wandering around the campsite.
We had a great time. Great place if you have kids, relaxing and affordable. We will definitely be back.
We received good client service, the staff was very friendly. The lodge is nice and peaceful, I'd recommend anyone to go there. You can rest out nicely! It is very neat as well!
Many thanks to the staff of Abba Game Lodge, you helped make a young boy's holiday top notch, without TV and playstation, very close to nature, a peaceful well-maintained Lodge.
We went to Abba Game Lodge And Camping Site for a holiday. My dog and I were welcomed with a friendly smile. Enjoyed it so much, will recommend it to people. This is a wonderful place, in the lodge and camp-site. It was calm and beautiful all around.
Enjoyed the stay, staff friendly and helpful. It's so quiet here you can hear the wood chopper chopping the tree's branch with its beak. Enjoyed the braai and meals.
Getting close to the animals was amazing.
The boma stand is truly a winner! I would also highly recommend the game drive. I also want to thank the man who made our visit worthwhile, Hanno the barman! Greetings!
I would definitely recommend Abba Game Lodge. Peaceful getaway, good value for money.
Nice and relaxing! Very friendly people.
Nice and quiet and value for money.
It's a lovely family resort if you just want to switch off. The service was amazing throughout and the hot pool was our highlight in the cold week. There is only one bit of inconvenience, we were there with the caravan and the 11 km dirt road was not in a suitable condition for a normal caravan. Otherwise great.
The lapas at the camping sites are beautiful and it was a great use during our cold weekend. The dam and beautiful nature was very relaxing. We will definitely return for another visit.
Nice break away. Just make sure you buy everything in town, because the resort is quite expensive. You don't want to drive to town many times a day, because the road is dirt road. It is wonderfully quiet and the driver very friendly. Ablution blocks are very clean.
Out of all the lodges that I went Abba Game Lodge was the best, friendly staff members very helpful staff, the only problem is that there are no TV's in the rooms but overall we enjoyed our self.
The braai area is behind the house. It would have been nice if it was in front of the house.
We had a great time. Was great to see the bucks wandering between the houses. Staff went out of their way to make us feel at home.
Would definitely book this place again. Was peaceful, comfortable, and the sounds of nature and the antelope were an experience.
Ns had a nice stay. A mosquito net over the beds would be a great improvement.
We were incredibly impressed with Abba Game Lodge's customer service, from arrival to departure, nothing was ever too much trouble!
The staff at reception were very friendly. The guests just need to be informed about how the restaurant arrangements work. I wanted to eat breakfast but none of the ladies asked if they could help me when I sat down at the table. One of the other guests helped me out and told me to order at reception if I wanted to eat something. Reception should inform guests of this arrangement upon arrival.
We were very grateful that they could accommodate us on such short notice. The place is beautiful, caravan sites very nice and very big. Bathrooms are okay, not great. It's only a pity that they weren't strict enough with the noisy guests.
We stayed in one of the A frame places. It wasn't very clean and the unit's furniture, appliances and especially the worn-out beds need a lot of attention. The resort did go out of their way for the children and they loved driving on the trekker, playing putt-putt and taking part in the activities the resort arranged especially for them. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Was very peaceful and away from technology. Just a little maintenance is needed in the chalets bathroom and also the hot pool. Otherwise will go again.
Accommodation was nice, customer service - "not all" - was very poor. The lapa was not cleaned and we felt we were redundant. The children enjoyed it immensely. There really is a lot for them to do.
Very nice farm - a bit neglected, especially the chalets. Monica cleaned for us and she is a beautiful person.
No shade net/canopies for vehicles at chalets. Curtains very dirty and light fittings dirty. Refrigerator does not make cold only freezer section. Poor service at gate guard when leaving early in the morning he was very unfriendly and not even greeted. Gate guard was also not dressed in a shirt, only pants.
I can only mention that the units are nice and spacious and suitable for the purpose for which they are there. What was not acceptable is that the place was not cleaned beforehand and was therefore dusty and dirty. There was e.g. dust and dead flies on the beds and furniture and the dining table had cobwebs visible at the bottom and the bath was dirty and full of dust and dead insects and the wall tiles were not washed clean either and old soap marks are visible on the tiles and shower glass. After enquiry, the management informed us that they do not place soaps and towels in the residential units due to previous cases of theft, but that they are available on request if needed. Personally, I think it is inappropriate to want to accommodate new guests such as potential criminals. The lodge must be willing to take the risk and therefore have their insurance in place for it. The porch was also full of bird chatter. We did bring bg to the management's attention and they indicated that they would deal with the cleaner in question.
Late night music in campground. We complained and the management just let it go. Drones being flown in campgrounds late at night.
The service was extremely unprofessional and pathetic. Personal derogatory comments made towards my clothing by a young male member of staff. The chalet was dirty, beds unmade and floors filthy.
Would recommend anyone to go there, very friendly and Saturday night braai for the whole resort anytime again. Thank you very much for a lovely weekend.
Highly recommend Abba Game Lodge, and we will definitely visit again!
We enjoyed our stay at Abba. We especially appreciated the fact that the chalet did not have a TV and that cell phone reception was poor! The chalet was very comfortable and supplied everything needed. We will definitely visit again.
I will recommend the lodge to my friends and colleagues for birthdays and team buildings.
We would recommend Abba Game Lodge. The chalet (A-frame) was neat and extremely clean. Good facilities ─ the heated pool was especially nice. The dirt road was in good condition and signs indicating the location made the lodge easy to find.
Dit is baie lekker en rustig. Ideaal vir die wegkom van die stads/dorpslewe. Staf is so behulpsaam en vriendelik.
Excellent swimming and braai facilities for the children. We also really enjoyed the game drive.
Very clean, friendly and I will definitely be there again soon!
We were worried about what we would get for the price we paid. After a bit of a drive on a gravel road we found a beautiful lodge with everything one could need whilst on holiday. Enough to do, a bar where you can drink something cold and a neat chalet with lots of space. The buck walking around freely was a bonus. The service was great - very friendly and helpful people!
The resort is very neat and well maintained. The silence and tranquility means that one can relax and rest. The stretch of dirt road to the lodge is in good condition.
I would recommend Abba Game Lodge to anyone looking to relax and enjoy .
Dirt road was a bit rough, but the units were neat and sufficient. We had a very nice stay.
We enjoyed our stay. Thank you very much.
Only stayed one night. It's a shame that the dam is empty, but the facilities are neat and everything you could need for a few nights' stay.
If you just need to relax after a hectic time this is the place. for you.
Very nice. Will probably be more beautiful in summer. It was a bit cold, but we still enjoyed it.
What a quiet, open and relaxing atmosphere. Good for a family getaway. The kids have a nice play area and there are game drives. The heated pool is the one. It is a big lodge and everyone minds their own business. The decor is very rustic to match the structure. Value for money. There is no network, so leave your phones at home and just enjoy the peace and quiet. It is quite rejuvenating. Oh the 11 km gravel road leading to Abba lodge is a pain. You need an SUV or Bakkie.
I will recommend it to any one who wants to rest and relax in the bush veld. The game drive is interesting if you are interest in the bush and what the Waterberg can offer.
Very nice camping site and gorgeous area.
Will definitely stay there again, but as said, the dirt road needs attention. Hot water also a problem sometimes. I would strongly recommend that they install a "heatpump" system which will save power and some.
Nothing fancy of luxurious, but great place for wekkend getaway. Spacious for kids to run around and play. The drought and cold meant that the dam was empty and the swimming pools were to cold. But it would be great during summer.
It was a privilege to spend the time there where there is no TV or mobile phone reception. There was time to chat and play games. The little ones really enjoyed the treats during the tractor rides.
Reception one cannot even greet properly at the reception. If you ask where the house is, the reception tells you just drive. What type of answer is this? It is not even explained to you where everything is on the farm, no we had to figure everything out ourselves. The place was so dirty the fridge was full of dust on top. the curtains were dirty. The bathroom light didn't even work. There was only 1 power point and you had to plug everything into the kitchen so you had to move the microwave and the kettle all the time to be able to use it.
