We stayed in the tent, was a lovely experience, and the most luxurious camping we'd ever had. The campsite is incredibly spacious with a wonderful braai and relaxation area. We had a kitchen to ourselves, as well as a shower and toilet, so no shared facilities. It's the kind of place where you can easily spend a happy week. Jurgens is an enthusiastic, thoughtful host, who has considered every single thing you might need.

It's really a very interesting place to stay. The decor is very well done everywhere, both inside and outside. There is plenty of space inside and outside to sit and grill or just relax. We could see from our previous visit how the owner is improving the place, and he still has big plans for the future. We would stay here again!

We just overslept but really enjoyed it. The place is clean, with lots of space. We could have bought braai packs or a ready meal, you also get a bag of wood for free so you don't have to bring it with you. There were cookies and crackers for sale, and gas for when the power went out. Your car is safe, and didn't need to collect the bikes. We will definitely sleep over again, it was a nice Karoo sleepover.

Aberdeen Self-Catering consists of a few cottages and appears to have been developed for the biker community. The garden is special and planted for the drought. Loves the company of dogs, cats and poultry. The house we were in is opposite Voortrekker Street, and it is a thoroughfare. Instead of silence, there was traffic on the road all night! Choose one of the houses on the back street.
Nomi, the manageress, waited for us to arrive, assisted us with salads, and made us feel at home, many thanks for that, your hospitality after a bad day on the road was much appreciated.
Will definitely visit them again.

Characterful overnight facility with everything you need and genuine Karoo friendliness. Naomi went out of her way to make everything go 100%. Delicious barbecue packages available and breakfast can really be recommended. We will definitely stay here again.

We were personally contacted on WhatsApp after our booking to welcome us and inform about dinner and breakfast options even though they are actually a self catering entity. Very well equipped accommodation with kitchen facilities and private ablutions with tent under spacious canopy. We are pensioners and were there midweek and had a very nice stay. Think it might get noisy on weekends. A drop down awning in front of the kitchen area will give more privacy.

We felt totally refreshed and ready for the long journey to Bloemfontein. It's truly an oasis and highly recommendable, in my opinion. Our accommodation was also completely private, which added to a sense of absolute tranquility. The puppy, Toffie, stole our hearts!
The geyser at the tent was problematic and the hostess decided out of her own to upgrade us. She also takes guests around the entire property to explain the setup - very impressive.

It was such a surprise when we stopped there. It was the cutest place. The accommodations were so cutely furnished with everything and more you could need. The fact that we had 7 German shepherds together is also a big plus. The children and adults thoroughly enjoyed the farm pond swimming pool and spent hours in it. Pleasant and peaceful setting, cool off in the pool. The facility/house is very fully equipped. People in wheelchairs may have some challenges. The mosquitoes provided excitement but the necessary insecticides did their job. Would suggest putting a glass partition/curtain in the shower. The breakfast was very pleasant. I book at a B&B and get a whole house! With a swimming pool. With outdoor kitchen by the braai and, and, and... So neat.
Always just flew by. This time I stopped and it was one of those places that you actually have to stay more than one night. It will be one of my pit stops again when I next visit the Karoo. It was so nice, even the chickens and geese were friendly.
Debbie received us very kindly and we immediately felt at home. Coffee, tea and biscuits welcomed us and dinner was deliciously prepared. Their ginger beer is delicious. Braai wood is provided, but we did not use it. Our self-catering unit was more than adequately equipped and was able to prepare breakfast before leaving for the Kamdeboo National Park. Lovely evening in the Karoo. Very cute cottage in beautiful garden with farm animals. It was a cool day and evening so we couldn't swim in that nice pool (next time). My children just want to bring the little lambs in with them. They really enjoyed it.

We were five friends, with two lap dogs who slept here. What a pleasant surprise to find this oasis in the middle of Aberdeen! We enjoyed delicious barbecue packages (arranged in advance) and made a fire with the wood they gave us. Swam and felt very safe. We will definitely stay here again. Our hostess, Debbie, was very helpful.
We enjoyed this stay very much, a cool and peaceful oasis after a long hot journey. The whole site has been transformed into a very characterful and uniquely designed environment. Our unit was equipped with its own veranda and braai area for a cosy stay until late night. Bookings arrangements were smooth and confirmed a day before our arrival. The owner and host are very friendly and considerate, and were able to chat with us. The living rooms and rooms are spacious with ample shower facilities. Just bring in sufficient repellent for mosquitoes; it is apparently a common scourge in Aberdeen!

From the street side you may wonder what is going on here. But when you drive into the gate a surprise awaits. An interesting setting with many recreation areas and all the farm animals make you feel like you are in the countryside. Jurgens welcomes you warmly and the cottage is well equipped with everything you need. The nice braai right in front of the door is convenient for quickly making something for dinner. The shower in the bathtub is not ideal, but in the summer the nice outdoor shower will help a lot. Nice warm bed for the winter.
A very interesting place with lots to discover. We were excited about the ingenious way the owner equipped this place. Also nice to sit outside and socialize while enjoying some snacks and a wine.
We had a great night there, everything we needed is there. We were greeted kindly by everyone, even by the animals. The place is beautifully laid out with beautiful gardens. Everything there creates a very peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.
The pool was not working. The drain system is not functioning properly.
Administration at Aberdeen Self-Catering not up to standard. Couldn't confirm booking in the first place and somewhat absent. Place was clean and tidy, but notice on toilet doors regarding with toilet paper extremely creepy to say the least. Requested to use water provided for kettle but could not get a drop from the container.

Located on the main street. Traffic rushing by at night is troublesome. Our bedrooms were almost facing the street. We were requested with a notice not to throw any papers, not even toilet paper in the sink, which was not very pleasant. We trust that this situation will not be permanent. Otherwise the stay was fine.

Thank you very much for the 2 days, the apartment is beautiful and has many paintings that make you feel at home in the Karoo. We felt relaxed. My son enjoyed the swimming pool a lot and cried when we went home. I will recommend Aberdeen to anybody who wants to sleep over.

The grandchildren enjoyed the waterfalls and animals after a long day in the car. There were a lot of mosquitoes but Jurgens had the necessary insect repellents. We will stay there again. Peace and quiet. Owner put in a lot of effort.
Jurgen was very helpful as we wanted to keep a freezer, which we drove with us on the bakkie, switched on throughout the night. We also had two dogs with us and this was the ideal place to sleep for us. Other guests who stayed over were very friendly and all enjoyed standing by the pool and chatting with something cold in hand. There is a fan in the room, but air conditioning would probably be more effective when very high temperatures are reached, luckily it wasn't that hot the night we slept over. Can definitely recommend Aberdeen Self-Catering place, rates very reasonable.

Met by Jurgens, friendly and helpful. Our chalets were clean, tidy, well maintained and very comfortable. Coffee, tea and rusks waited for us when we arrived. Ideally situated halfway between Mossel Bay and Colesberg. From now on this will be our overnight stop. Not often do we find accommodation as clean, tidy and user friendly as this.
We didn't expect much from Aberdeen but were really surprised with Aberdeen Self-Catering. Jurgen is so friendly and immediately made us feel at home. The accommodation was clean and spacious with everything we needed. It really is one of those places you just have to go to.

Aberdeen has restrictions such as places to eat There was also a power outage that was no one's fault. The accommodation itself was good, but the environment where it is located means that next time I will stay in Graaff-Reinet instead.
