The accommodation is a self-catering cottage consisting of 1 bedroom and a separate dining, living area. There is 1 queen-size bed and a single day bed in the room. The bathroom with shower etc. is en-suite. There is a sofa bed in the open plan TV lounge which is double bed size. The kitchen is fully equipped with a full gas stove and oven. A small table top oven and microwave. The fridge is a full sized unit with freezer. The lounge comprises of the sofa bed, easy chair, small dining table and chairs. There is a TV with Netflix and Youtube and it is wired for DSTV so guests can bring their DSTV decoder and Smart Card.
Outside there are 2 patios, one of which has a portable braai and the other patio has a small table and chairs. There is a secure carport with gates that can be locked. Well-behaved pets are welcome by arrangement. The garden is filled with 30 species of birds and a few tortoises.
Abigail's Garden Cottage is only a mere 7-minute walk into the town's main street with numerous restaurants, pubs and hiking trails. The cottage is not suitable for two couples sharing. Perfect for a couple or family of 3-4, or singles. We offer a special rate for single travelers.

Host was very helpful with everything. He was always available on WhatsApp. On arrival there was fresh bread, fruit and a welcome basket. Thank you very much for the extra effort. It's a fantastic place.

Beautifully furnished, good location, friendly owner. Unfortunately, the subway gate gets stuck and is impossible to open by yourself, and the front door doesn't open easily either. Little things that unfortunately have a greater impact on the pleasure of the stay the longer it lasts. Believe it is easy to fix.

Such an incredible hostess, great cottage, private and very safe.
It was definitely the neatest, well-equipped apartment we've ever stayed in. Thank you for all the extras such as the muskadel and beautiful fine wine glasses. Milk and juice in the fridge, coffee, tea, sugar, salt and all the necessary are available. Lovely pavement and beautiful garden for relaxing. Also appreciate the discount we received as senior citizens. Would definitely recommend it to our friends.

We were kindly received by Abigail, the owner. The cottage was neat and clean and ideal for our family of two adults and one child. The location is central and walking distance from the restaurants. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely stay there again.

When we arrived at Abigail's Garden Cottage, the owner Gail was already waiting for us outside the house to welcome us. The cottage is wonderfully spacious and cosy. Everything is clean and comfortable. I would definitely like to visit Gail again.

The unit is very tastefully furnished and the kitchen is well equipped. Location is also good. The town is small and within walking distance. Safety is good. Had a nice few days there. Would love to stay longer. Just missed my washing machine.
Tastefully furnished garden cottage with separate bedroom, quietly located three blocks from Bathstreet. Montagu is one of the more beautiful places, mountains all around. Excellent restaurants.

We were warmly welcomed by our hostess. The place was very neat and all the basic accessories were available. The place is very centrally located.
The accommodation was good value for money and had everything the we needed. There was even an electric blanket on the bed, Wi-Fi and Netflix.
Very basic, wouldn't stay more than 1 night. Ideal for someone who just sleeps there. We just wanted to shower and sleep there, that was enough.
The cottage was nice, but I would not recommend this place to any young couples or a young group of friends. Our experience there was comfy but I wouldn't return in the near future.
The "Cottage" is very clean and comfortable. It is nicely laid out and everything inside is of a very good quality. Neat bathroom with shower. Secure parking for vehicle (behind locked gate). It is within easy walking distance of Montagu's high street. Located in a very peaceful, quiet neighborhood in the old part of town. The owner is very friendly and received us with a warm smile. Perfect for a single person or couple, although there is an extra single bed in the room for a child/third person. It was a really lovely weekend. Will definitely recommend.
