There is also the 2 Deluxe River Suites each with their own kitchen and braai area.
Animal and bird sightings are frequent occurrences along the riverbank, or from the main deck of African Safari Lodge, which could only be described as a nature lover’s paradise.
Book a game drive, paddle up the river on our canoes, go for a hike or have a relaxing massage. We have something for everybody to enjoy.

We had an amazing two-night stay. The beautiful views from our room and the veranda were absolutely breathtaking. The tranquility experienced was just what we needed. The staff - Dean, Gift, Mike and Fay - really made our stay memorable. Their interaction with guests and ensuring we were well taken care of was incredible. The game drive and boat cruise are a must - we learnt so much from Mike and Dean. Last but not least, the food Gift prepared for us was the best I have tasted in any restaurant for a long time. He is really a brilliant chef.
Our stay was lovely. Single mom travelling with her 10-year-old daughter. Absolutely stunning location, spacious room and fully equipped for self-catering. The host welcomed us and was amazing. Will definitely come again.
Perfect soft landing after a visit to Coffee Bay. Highly recommended, it was breathtakingly beautiful. Sunset takes on new meaning, and thoroughly enjoyed looking at the stars as I lay in the bath. Had a very good night's rest. Lovely!
We really enjoyed our stay at African Safari Lodge. The lodge is very homely, and the assistant was super helpful. The food prepared by our personal chef was so delicious. The surrounding area was so beautiful, and we felt so relaxed during our stay. We also really enjoyed the game drive we went on.

We had a very nice breakfast, owners very friendly, people and pleasant, made us feel at home, and there are still big plans to improve the place and the road, there was no wildlife to see and we have the feeling of the East -Cape enjoyed every moment, fantastic place, extremely tidy, Will want to go again.

Was just upset Sunday morning when there was no power, we had to shower in cold water, couldn't drink coffee. Apparently there was an electrical problem somewhere. It's a great place, love the tranquility, also love the layout of each room. The lodge is so beautiful to me.
The unit was offered at a special rate which made it excellent value for money. Very luxurious unit that is very well equipped. In a beautiful wooded area with a beautiful view and very private. We enjoyed the stay immensely and would go there again anytime.

The tranquility itself. All we wanted was silence, calm, nature, isolation. We got it and much more. Debbie was an absolute star and received us late after we had transport issues. Entering the dirt road was quite a challenge but it was part of the adventure for us, we had a good laugh. Beautiful location. Clean and tidy. Looks exactly like the website photos. Bath and shower, TV, equipped kitchen with all the essentials. Would definitely recommend the Lodge.
We were warmly welcomed, our unit was luxurious and really had everything we could possibly think of. The stoep/braai area has a beautiful view and we experienced magical tranquility.
If you're looking for a pocket-sized getaway to relax, African Safari Lodge is a winning plan! My wife and I had a wonderful rest and the unit has everything you need for a lovely, peaceful few evenings. We were privileged to see giraffes, buffaloes and various other species of antelope. The view from the porch is beautiful. We were there in the Winter, so the visit was limited to inside the unit in the evening, but I think in the Summer a braai on the stoep would be just the thing. Debbie was extremely helpful and Nkululeko helped with everything needed. Would love to come and rest again.
We opted to do self-catering - the kitchen was well-appointed and the lodge itself was a dream. Everything you could want for.
Incredibly beautiful!
The accommodation was fantastic. Have everything that one needs for a self catering weekend away. Decor lovely and kitchen well equipped. Debbie from the lodge is very helpful. Bedrooms are great, all with en suite. Maybe all rooms require a fan though or an air con especially for the summer months as it was 39 degrees on Saturday, super hot. Overall a wonderful experience and great place to stay!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Saw so many animals from our stoep that we hardly needed to go anywhere, though a cycle and canoe trip helped us see even more close up.
Very enjoyable overnight stay.
The stay was wonderful. Was just very disappointed that they advertise meals on request, but the day we were to check in we were told that no meals would be offered. Furthermore, our neighbors in the adjoining unit did get meals. Inexplicable!
