Beautiful gardens with a spacious and tidy room, it makes it all worthwhile. Spa treatment and restaurant excellent.
We were positively surprised. The room was nicely decorated and with a view of the garden. Even a more luxurious feeling than in the pictures. The surrounding garden and water features are very well maintained and added to the relaxed atmosphere. We enjoyed the pool area and the service was the best ever!

Rooms and garden high quality.
It's my second visit to African Vineyard and I specifically booked there because the first time was fantastic. Things have changed a bit. It's now much bigger and they are now more of a venue for big events than a guest house. Everything is still very beautiful, neat and tasteful, but the personal "touch" that I experienced the first time was not there now. The food was reheated and not fresh.
The hotel lacks management. Expected more from a 4-star hotel. Meals were cold and wine selection nonexistent.
African Vinyard is definitely a place that offers relaxation and refreshment for the soul.

Absolutely stunning room, we were upgraded to the Shiraz suite. Would 100% recommend if you want to treat yourself. We were really well looked after, got packed breakfast bags, tables set up at the braai area, they offered to make us dinner even though we were late to request dinner. We had a braai because we weren't expecting to be able to have dinner. The room we actually booked looked pretty, with a great garden in front. Very small bar fridge and a neat room.
We choose the sultana room and it was beautiful. Spacious and clean and with a welcome drink and a delicious date! For me it's in these details! The kitchen had a wonderful chef; their food is so delicious! Together with their local wines and beautiful garden to sit in, it is one small paradise!

Dié gastehuis is besonders. Die fokus op die kleinste detail is sigbaar in die hele opset, van skilderye, unike meubels, tot die kleinste glasie en beker met 'n klein druiwe ietsie in. Die kamers is absuluut luuks, gerieflik en in n stil area. Die gasvrou en personeel is vriendelik en behulpsaam. Die aand en ontbyt was fantasties, goed voorberei en uitstekend bedien. Kudos aan die chef wat verras het met sy kook kuns. Karoolam uit die boonste rakke! Kan die verblyf met graagte aanbeveel as iets vir iemand se emmerskoplysie, of sommer net vir 'n wegbreek. Sal beslis weer gaan kuier!

African Vineyard is a gem we have discovered. We went there overnight on our way to the Kgalagadi. From the time we arrived until our departure, it was very pleasant. The staff were extremely professional and helpful. The two meals we enjoy are called. Dinner and breakfast were absolutely wonderful. It was a beautiful room with very interesting and artificial furniture and woodwork. Needless to say it was very clean and neat. The garden and grounds are also beautiful. We will definitely stay there again.
I slept there alone one night and one night with my husband. The beds are extremely comfortable with top quality linen ─ makes you feel so pampered. The best dinner and lots of friendly people (and dogs). Would love to stay there again.

After a long journey it was very nice to stay at African Vineyard Guesthouse! Just a shame it was only for one night! Everything is neat, clean and a pleasure for the soul! The rooms are spacious and well equipped! Will always recommend this place, hidden among the vineyards on Cannon Island! After the experience with the previous morning's breakfast packages, the ones from African Vineyard were a very big surprise!

Fantastic destination hidden in the heart of the winelands. We were delightfully spoiled with a beautiful room, exquisite meals, friendly staff, as well as Elmarie who went out of her way to assist us with personal enquiries. The atmosphere is soothing with an unearthly calmness. May these people be blessed 1000-fold with goodness and favor from father's hand!

We stayed in one of the luxury rooms, it was absolutely fantastic. We had a good reception and the car was safe. There is just one thing, I am a vegetarian and the food was edible but I would've liked something better at such a nice place. Other wise everything was 100%.
Very nice, food was delicious and even though thre were lots of mosquitoes outside, it is understandable since it's the rainy season, but there were no mosquitoes in the room.
We stayed here one night on our way to the West Coast, and I wish we could have stayed a little longer. The rooms are neatly equipped, and in a very nice environment among the vineyards. This was my first visit and stay on Kanoneiland, although I have travelled the area regularly. I have decided not to stay in nearby Upington, and this was the best decision ever, to discover this gem. This is the perfect venue for someone who appreciate and prefer space, tranquility, quiet, exquisite food, luxurious accommodation, spa treatments, friendly staff and genuine interest in their guests. Thank you Elmarie for upgrading our accommodation, at no extra cost. Thank you to Bruce and the staff for making special arrangements with the meals to meet our schedule. Also spoiling 'oupa' to accommodate his meat preference and 'ouma' with conversation.
An island loop court and paradise in the middle of the Orange. Elegant and creative design, neat and clean buildings and environment in the middle of a very interesting place in SA. Good personal service and peaceful environment.
From start to finish everyone was friendly, hospitable and helpful, beautiful room, very tasty dinner and breakfast and introduction to local wines. Nothing was too much trouble and we were even invited to an art exhibition.

Lovely working raisin farm. We were generously received by Hannes, he also took us on a quick tour of the house. Then we walked into the most tasteful room decorated with antique furniture, mirrors the size of a rugby field and a bathroom straight out of the books.
