In Melville it is the most breathtaking place: Old style house, Melville cup's rest and the stairs to 7 th street... We know Jannie as a poet, singer in Holland. We took a taxi to Rosebank for a green and red tour bus in the suburbs and city. We walked down Constitutional Hill (can recommend it) as well as Wits museum. Many thanks to Jannie and staff.

A beautiful accommodation in a quiet neighborhood, an oasis in the city. Rooms perhaps a bit dated, but clean and tidy. A delicious breakfast and especially a particularly warm hospitality and personal interest from the host and hostess. On request, a prime vegetarian bobotie is even served. The best start before a trip in ZA!
It was truly a pleasure to spend time at the Backyard. Every person we dealt with was friendly and helpful. They really made an effort to make us feel at ease. The breakfast is incredibly tasty and the children agree that they want to return to the Backyard soon!
It was a particularly reassuring experience to spend the night at Die Agterplaas. Their advance arrangements were smooth - and with the wonders of today's technology, obtaining information, booking, paying and other details was very easy. The fact that a driver met me at the airport and transported me directly to the guest house contributed to the fact that I could immediately begin to relax. The room was nice and well appointed. The next morning started with a delicious breakfast, friendly and well served. They also helped me get a tuk-tuk to get to my destination for the day. It's not an adventure I would recommend to anyone, but the fact that the guest house was willing to assist me with those arrangements also made my life easier. I would love to use them again, and hopefully for more than one night! The atmosphere is special and calming.
A homely and friendly atmosphere. A delicious dinner and breakfast with personal service. Nothing was too much for them to make my stay pleasant.
Super friendly staff . Beautiful, clean and comfortable rooms. Nice extras, like juice and cooldrink in the bar fridge. Hairdryers in every room. Great breakfast, with homemade bread, hot out of the oven. Nice and quiet , you don't even realise that you are in jhb . Near restaurants and shops. Best guest house haveI have ever stayed in. It was an absolute joy to stay at Agterplaas. The people are very friendly and helpful and the food is excellent. Everybody went out of there way to act on any requests. Staff even went the extra mile when we lost documentation and helped us look for it after we had already departed. Can highly recommend them to anyone!
