What a lovely place to stay. The room was clean and so well positioned to sit and watch the water while we worked. A lovely little tea and coffee station with a mini bar fridge. The WiFi was excellent and perfect for us to work. A lovely quiet place with the most amazing views of the ocean, harbour, and mountain. The lady at the front desk was awesome. Full of such good advice and recommendations. We loved chatting to her. We would suggest popping in at Fran's for an unbelievable meal at amazingly affordable pricing and if you forget your toothbrush, pop over the road to a little kiosk that is open till 11pm.

Nice stay, only the toilet seat was loose as well as the sink tap in the toilet which was also lks, mentioned this to the reception lady on departure. Refrigerator not very efficient either (doesn't get nice and cold). Had a very nice meal at Bertha's, dinner and a very nice breakfast.
The fire alarm went off in the middle of the night, which was the only inconvenience. At least we know the fire alarm works.
We only stayed for 1 night. Parking was a problem, but we found out later we could park in the area where one pays, and then hand the ticket to reception. There was a miscommunication between you and the hotel, so we were issued a bill which we had to sort out first. The duvets are super warm and no top sheet is supplied. The room does have air conditioners, but ours made such a noise that we couldn't sleep with it on. Very limited DStv channels are available. Apart from these issues, we'll be better prepared next time and will definitely visit again. The short walk from the end of Bernard Street (don't follow Google Maps' directions) to Admiral's waterfall is totally worth it.

The view was amazing - and the staff go over and above! The ladies at reception were great - but the star/hero of our stay was a housekeeper who 'saved' us when our toddler was having a meltdown. I couldn't carry her and the bag, and this lady stepped in and cheered her up - played with her - and just made a mad rush significantly less mad!

Quayside Hotel is a neat hotel in the heart of Simonstad. This town surrounds you with nature and old history of the country. Enjoy the penguin walking trail with round rocks along the shore with daisies peeking out at you. Do yourself a favor and find Burgerstraat on the mountain side and walk to Admira waterfall. The view will take your breath away.

This was our second time at Quayside Hotel in 2 years and our stay was OK. The first time was so lovely. The hotel rooms are starting to look dull and in need of maintenance. We had a balcony and the room and bathroom were so much bigger which was a plus. There was an extractor fan in the bathroom that could not be switched off. It was so irritating, especially at night and we had to close the bathroom door when we went to bed. The partner restaurant for breakfast was Bertha's restaurant and they are better suited for lunch than breakfast.
Great stay, beautiful and quiet area. Friendly and helpful staff. They just have to work on cleaning, especially the stairs, and I should think, supervision after the cleaning staff. I will recommend family and friends to stay there. 8/10.

Balcony room, however, not recommended. The baboons frolic on roofs and balconies in search of food and apparently even break into rooms, according to reception staff. Room floor and balcony full of crumbs and used plastic.

Only downside, please get a plumber to sort out the hot water issue. Showering in cold water was not fun. Then the door stopper in the bathroom, please put it against the counter and not on the floor. I hit my toes so many times and fell over that thing. Also, please use fabric softener or white vinger to wash your towels. It will make it fluffy and soft. It felt like, I was drying my body sandpaper. Not fun. My sea side view was beautiful. Thank you again for a lovely birthday stay. Will definitely be back.

Overall, I had an awesome stay with my boyfriend. Was a pity we were hit by stage 6 load-shedding. Unfortunately, the hotel does not have a generator, so be prepared to take cold showers and sit in the dark if the power is cut. We didn't have water on the last day as well. I believe this was a town-wide issue, so we ended up cutting the trip short by a night. I would recommend getting a mattress topper for the beds in our room as they were very hard. Nonetheless, the activities and atmosphere in and around the town made it all worth it. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and apologetic for the series of unfortunate events which in my opinion were out of their control. This is a perfect getaway for people who need to take a quick break from the hustle and bustle of a city.
The balcony rooms have a picture-perfect result. The harbor has quite a few restaurants to choose from. The rooms are spacious. And our evening was very nice.

Had a wonderful stay in a harbour view room, well worth it and great to see the comings and goings of the port. The staff were excellent both at breakfast and reception. I must give a special mention to the reception staff who helped me so much when I became stranded after the covid red list was imposed on SA. Excellent service and assistance.

We could easily walk to Seaforth beach, where penguins liven up your day for free! Boulders is a bit far, I would recommend curry. Close to shops and eateries and basically part of the navy base, with enormous navy boats in the bay. I wish you could take a look at how it looks on the boat itself!
There was a loose roof sheet under our room window which I reported to reception but nothing was done about it.
More parking for vehicles should be considered.

Simon's town Quayside Hotel was a nice place. The hotel's restaurant was nice and there is good room service.
We were 13 adults and 3 children. Extra beds were made up for the 3. The rooms are large and spacious and have a fantastic view of the harbour. The breakfast every morning was delicious and everyone could eat what they wanted and the service was great and everyone was very friendly. Will definitely stay there again.

Staff are super friendly and helpful. Awesome location and setting. Superb breakfast. One wall is just windows and doors - full frontal sun which is great but though you open all the cool air doesn't pull in. The bed was also quite hard for us, so very restless night overall.
