We had a fantastic time in the hotel. Everything was clean and tidy and the bed's mattress is nice and firm which ensures a good night's rest. We had a TV and the electric fan in the room also works very nicely. The food is of very good quality and the ribs are a winner. The people are incredibly friendly there. Will definitely visit the hotel again and spend the night. Albertinia see you again soon.

I will not be going back. Please attend to the dust, dirty curtains, dirty tub and dirty cups. Also the dirty fan against the wall, one can se the dust from a mile away.
Well received. No acceptable service in restaurant. Food was inedible. Went to bed hungry. Not worth additional R700.
Our room was situated on the main road with the bottle store around the corner. The noise was horrendous! The place is old and dirty. The washbasin has a spider crack the size of the washbasin. The curtains are filthy. My husband's food was bland and some of my food was raw. When I mentioned this to the waitress, I was ignored. Never again!
The food was excellent and we felt at home upon arrival.
We were called a day before we had to arrive, thus confirming our arrival time. Karina is a very pleasant and friendly hostess. The menu is as always very tasty. The breakfast was delicious. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is a very good overnight stop for guests who are on their way to the Cape or the Eastern Cape. Very unique atmosphere that has been well maintained by the management and the food is very tasty. Only two things that were on the negative side were our room smelled of smoke with a half full bottle of beer and cigarette butt not disposed of before our arrival. The room itself was otherwise clean and tidy and private. Would also recommend that the lighting in the court yard be stepped up for guests returning to their rooms after dark. Otherwise, very helpful staff in good old Albertinia where everything goes slower than normal and it's nice.

The Albertinia Hotel lives up to its old time quaintness and the food which always has good reviews was not disappointing. The rooms still have that vintage look. There was a wall heater in room but no electric blanket which was an extreme disappointment for me, although our American friends loved it and they are very fussy. Negative - the number of people hanging around the car park looking for food or a handout.
Was a lovely experience, we felt so at home from the moment we walked in. Food was delicious. Staff go out of their way for their guests.
Beautiful old hotel, restored with convenient rooms. Very pleasant service and good food. Remember that the hotel's pub is the only entertainment for the locals over the weekend so it gets quite rowdy, but the rooms are on the other side of the hotel - luckily!

Albertinia was an easy distance for us from Cape Town to still stop along the way. Had a bit of difficulty finding the hotel! Had to realise that the Main road became a back street. Received a friendly and warm welcome and slept well. Meals were excellent.

Value for South Africans' money I have given 2 stars, for your average FT (Flippen Tourist - overseas traveller with dollars and euros) R400 per person per night is an absolute bargain. My Mandelas, however, is hard earned and a local discount option will be very welcome. Especially when more than one South African books. However, the room was adequately equipped and the radio box with a button for the old Springbok Radio brought back interesting memories. There is paid Wi-Fi that should be free of charge in our day and time. However, receiving all service providers should be good, so no reason to pay for something you already paid for. I tried the sirloin steak on the al la carte menu. Although tasty, I was disappointed. The cut was of poor quality and I cut off half as it was fat. I could not pinpoint if it was flame grilled, seemed pan fried, but I could be wrong. Much can be improved on. I can not comment on other foods. What stood out was the personal service and interest shown. It makes something like the steak seem small. Thank you very much for that.

They were so helpful and made us feel welcome. My car was parked in the road and that is why I didn't give a high mark for safety. It was a lovely home away from home experience, with hospitality. The rooms were neat and clean, but everything is a bit old. The people are very friendly and hospitable and the food was great, both the dinner and breakfast! This hotel is ideal for those not wanting to pay the high rates of the coastal towns.
