Always nice to hang out in Sutherland with all the nice people.
Alien Inn is well equipped and tidy and the area is quiet and safe. The service was good and we had a wonderful stay there. Michelle made sure we were well informed about things to do which helped us a lot. We had a great time and learned a lot about the stars and planets. Sutherland has a special place in our hearts and we can highly recommend Alien Inn to anyone who ever has the opportunity to travel to the town.

Perfect Sutherland experience. We loved the family vibe the home provided and very convenient that it is close to the main road, particularly the Planetarium. The host was friendly and communicated well. We loved our stay.

The hosts were lovely and looked after us. Just had a problem cooking with the stove working on and off. Otherwise, it was a lovely weekend.
Had a great stay, the glasses were unfortunately full of dust, not used for a long time for sure. Had to wash before we could use it.
Cute 2-bedroom house in the Karoo with decor that is own and unique to rural simplicity. Had everything we needed. Unfortunately, the mattresses on the double beds were worn and full of springs like in my grandmother's days, so not the best night's rest after a long day on the road.
We were on a tour with the aim of staying just one night and exploring the town the next day.
Kitchen is generally dirty. Poor braai facilities. Cutlery unhygienic.
It's a very old house, but you feel right at home when you walk in.
We got to Sutherland on a Sunday late afternoon not realising the shops are closed and in need of some urgent supplies. Michelle and Etienne went out of their way to help us.
The place is absolutely beautiful, complete with hot water bottles and electric blankets. The sunroom is a stunning place to have your morning breakfast or to get lost in your book. Furnished with absolutely everything you could need, every detail was taken into account. Was a welcome, warm stay and would definitely be back!
Our experience in Surherland is truly something to remember. Michelle and Ettienne are the friendliest people and are always available for a query about the town or if you need their help with anything else. The place is very neat with beautiful decor. It was like home away from home. I will definitely stay there again if I have the privilege of visiting Sutherland again. 5 stars from me and my dad.
The stay at Alien Inn is comfortable and neat with a calmness that overcomes you. We would recommend it with for anyone or a family. Everything is neat and more than adequate for comfortable self-care. There was sufficient provision for cold nights - from electric blankets, heaters, blankets and even the faithful old hot water bottle. Personal attention and effort, even a WhatsApp to hear if we have safely reached our ultimate destination.
