Was there for a golf trip that fell through the cracks due to wet and cold weather. However, Alm-U compensated for an unforgettable rest. Fireplaces, plenty of space, easy chairs, plenty of warm linen and blankets, no power outages ensured hours of hanging out in the sheltered braai area, reading books and watching TV.
It is a beautiful, cozy house with all the luxuries such as WiFi, fireplace, inverters for power, coffee machine and more. Out of the hustle and bustle of the busy street but close enough for a nice walk. The owners also communicated often and well. We really enjoyed our stay and were also fortunate to be able to experience snow.

Well maintained property close enough to the restaurants and shops to walk but far enough to not hear the traffic. Cattle in the streets add to the peaceful feeling. Force did not affect us. Kitchen had enough glasses and cups. Sleep peacefully because the security system was in place. Close to the main street and quiet area.

All the mod cons in the kitchen, good security and located in the heart of Dullstroom, but quiet enough as it's two blocks from the main road. The upstairs bedroom chimney may need a clean as the room fills up with smoke when getting the fire going.
Alm-U is a very nice and clean place, with an excellent location. Every little detail has been thought of and taken care of, the cottage is so well equipped. From coffee beans ready in the coffee machine, to enough wood and fire lighter, detergents for the dishes and washing machine, bottle of water, biscuits. It was such a lovely treat to stay here.
Beautiful house. Everything you need to rest a little and get away from the hustle and bustle. Exquisite furniture and the highlight was the coffee machine! You also don't have to worry about keeping up with load shedding schedules as the batteries ensure that the lights stay on.

The unit was very clean and all the essentials were there as well as luxury items like the coffee machine, dishwasher and tumble dryer. From the beginning where a message was received from Paul (the owner) where he explained all the amenities etc. spelled out until the last closing of the door and setting of the alarm, we were amazed at the hospitality. Wood with lighters and matches provided. The house with 2 indoor fireplaces and then outdoor barbecue made our stay pleasant. The coffee machine (for which the beans were provided) let us enjoy barista coffee and cuppuccino! The locking gate and alarm system also made us feel very safe. I can confidently recommend Alm-Ü!

I personally think they should adjust the price if there are more people staying in the house, and not charge a per person amount, but that's my opinion. I will definitely stay there again.

Only stayed for one night, very nice well-located, safe and well-equipped house.
We were pleasantly surprised by all the improvements since we last stayed here. We were welcomed with bottled water and even a chocolate and biscuit for everyone. The brand new kitchen with modern tiles and light granite is a great asset. The new Delonghi machine, which works with the push of a button, spoiled us with the most delicious cappuccinos every time. The rose garden is a big improvement on the former desert garden and invites you to relax a little on the grass. The alarm that can be triggered in the evening for the garden also provides extra peace of mind. We will definitely see you again.
We had a wonderful week at Alm-U. As my fiancé and I are both working remotely we decided to try out living and working in Dullstroom for a week. Alm-U is well placed, walking distance from shops and restaurants, and the house has excellent wi-fi and space to work. When not working it was a pleasure to sit on the lovely stoep, or on the balcony. We loved the house, very clean, well laid out and equipped for all requirements. We had everything we needed and Anlie was very accommodating and helpful. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay, highly recommended.
You can't help but have a good time with the lovely porch, fireplaces and well-equipped kitchen. There is plenty of secure parking and the Wi-Fi is a lovely bonus. If you want to stay longer you can even do laundry.

Alm-U was true to its name and created the ideal opportunity for a chance to get away from the busy city - the house is nice and spacious, fully equipped with delicious extra facilities such as heating in bathrooms, coffee machine and enclosed braai and patio. Large and beautiful master bedroom, with its own sitting area and fireplace, view porch. Walking distance from town street and activities, still creates chance to be part of the quieter small town life.
The weekend stay was fantastic. Alm-U is near the main street, but far enough away not to hear the main road's noise. As 3 older couples it was nice to each have our own room with a double bed. Beds with good quality, crisp fresh and clean linen which meant a wonderful night's rest. The electric blankets were a bonus for a cold weekend. The house is very comfortably furnished and we made use of the covered veranda even though it was a cold, windy weekend. The kitchen is newly remodelled and the granite counters and tiles are beautiful. The white box makes the room look spacious. It was convenient for 3 friends to cook together. The dishwasher is an asset. Good directions to the location and how to use the alarm. Will definitely recommend and use the place again. It was our third time at Dullstroom and this was definitely the best place to stay.

Very nice place. Fully equipped for a comfortable stay for longer than a weekend. The main bedroom is beautiful with its own fireplace, beautiful bathroom and patio. The place is big enough for a large family, nice, spacious downstairs rooms and electric blankets on the bed for the cold. Lovely braai area as well as a fireplace in the back of the lounge. I would definitely recommend the place and go there again.

This beautiful home offers a wonderful escape from the concrete jungle! The spacious, sumptuous master bedroom with its balcony is extremely romantic and we had a great time by the fireplace in the living room, glass of red wine in hand! Will definitely visit Alm-U again in the future.

We really love Dullstroom and usually stay outside the town. This was our first stay at Alm U but certainly not the last. Beautiful facilities and very good communication with Anlie and her husband. The beds are comfortable and the new bathroom beautiful! You won't go wrong booking here.
Thank you very much, we had a wonderful stay in the house. Lovely bathrooms, comfortable kitchen and fireplaces. May I recommend that you put an extra length bed in the master bedroom? Compared to the many luxuries inside, the bed was uncomfortable for my tall man - unfortunately I will not book there again. And give the option/choice to put 2 single beds in the bedroom instead of a double bed - young men of 22 years do not like to sleep together on a double bed.

Very quiet part of Dullstroom. Alm-U made us feel very safe with an indoor and outdoor alarm system. Although we took our own toiletries, the supplied toiletries made a good impression. The kitchenware was clean and neat, everything was in place and was well equipped. A plus for Alm-U is that there are enough games provided for entertainment. Only complaint is the mat in the main bedroom needs a deep clean.
We were able to relax wonderfully thanks to the dishwasher, well-equipped kitchen and lovely braai area. Extra blankets, games and camp lamps were also very handy. All the amenities throughout the house make it a pleasure to stay in. 1 Criticism - master bedroom still has lingering smoke in room. Room should be better ventilated after fireplace use and ordinary vacuuming on carpet is not sufficient. I suspect some bulbs have said goodbye.

Neat house. We had a nice stay. Small things that were nice: good salt, pepper, and barbecue salt available in the kitchen. Enough wood for fireplaces - we just grilled our meat with some of the wood. 2 Coffee plungers in kitchen. Things that could improve: There is an automatic cuppachino machine in the kitchen, but it doesn't work (gives error).

Alm-U is very sociable. I can't say that there were any problems. Everything is tidy and it is a very nice accommodation.
Had a great time,all you need is already in the house, just bring yourself and your personal items. Location very nice not too close to main street. Shower is very nice, will propose you make the shower floor out of concrete and tile it, with a seat on left side for older people. More wood can be provided for fireplaces. Braai on sidewalk very nice, if the lid for example fully opened or removed (which will prevent hooks bending open due to chains) to get out of the way. Alarm, provide more information for guests to set outside alarms and still move freely. We have been very happy, would like to have booked again for Christmas, but unfortunately already booked full.

The house doesn't look very luxurious from the outside, but inside is the absolute opposite. The house inside is beautifully laid out, furnished to our taste, comfortable and very clean. It's a beautiful place. I could walk around the house barefoot without feeling uncomfortable. The pillows in the master bedroom were a bit of a challenge, but we swapped them with pillows in one of the other rooms. It's a pity that there is no lock-up parking for a car.
Alm-U is a good accommodation option in Dullstroom. We were a group of 6 people who stayed the weekend at Alm-U. Fireplaces throughout the house kept the cold at bay. The patio has canvas walls which makes it a very cozy place to have long conversations.

We have stayed at Alm U before and really like the house and had a nice stay. Would love to stay there again. This time it was very, very cold and the slate in the house makes it very difficult to warm up. Heaters would have helped a lot. The geyser was also struggling and the third person's water was cold. Little things in the house need attention.
Very spacious and comfortable house. Close enough to town without hearing traffic noise.Outside entertainment area was great. The owner was very accommodating with our various requests. We also enjoyed using the fireplaces in the house on that very chilly weekend. My only suggestion is that the garden fence be replaced at some stage as it is drooping and rusty. We enjoyed our stay, thank you!
Warm bedding is an essential necessity for this house. Summer sheets and pillowcases do not do the trick in the middle of winter in the second coldest town in the country! Otherwise we had a great time. The veranda is a winner.

Nice house especially in winter because the fireplaces. Good bedding and equipment. The location is close enough to shops to walk. Outdoor barbecue and socializing facilities are just not enough for a family outing - take your Weber and your own camping chairs. We will use it again.
The service from LekkeSlaap was once again excellent. The arrangements, documentation, keys etc. was well supplied. The accommodation is wonderful and for a weekend or even longer. As a halfway stop to the Wildlife Park it will also be convenient. Contact and response from Matilda (owner) was easy and valuable, even reporting the little things that need attention. We appreciated it. I will use the facilities and Dullstroom again.
Alm-U is centrally located and is within walking distance of the village and all the nice shops. The house is just incredibly cold and the fireplace didn't really warm it up enough. I know electricity needs to be saved but electric blankets on the beds would have been heavenly. Dullstroom is getting really cold!
