10 guests' feedbackReally enjoyed this off-the-grid experience. Janette is a fabulous cook. We had the best breakfast and dinner on her stoep, while drinking in the Karoo landscape. If you need deep rest, this is the place for you.
Very warmly received by Jeanette on arrival and she made us feel at home. Dinner was what we requested and together with breakfast it was the highlight of our stay. Appreciated the tranquility of the "Off Grid" evening there. Will go back again anytime.
If your looking for accommodation with a difference this is the place. Remember, off the grid in this case means "off the grid. " Bear in mind that there are no cooking facilities or fridge, bring your own ice if you want a cool sundowner. The view from the verandah is unbelievable and indescribable. The breakfast supplied by the hostess, who, by the way, was extremely pleasant and outgoing, was outstanding. So if you're looking for something different and quirky I would heartily recommend Aloe-Aloe Guest Farm.
No fridge and no plugs but host did offer to charge my phone at the main house. No resturant on premises. Breakfast was very good and host went out of her way to provide dinner as a take away. The area around the huts could have been cleaned of all building rubble.
There may be one power plug in cottage, no power. Access by vehicle to cottage is impassable. Shower and faucets spray outside the buckets and dish, cute idea but just not working 100%.
Owner was very friendly and helpful.
The owner, Jeanette, is very friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble for her. She makes an effort with her meals and the food is not only delicious but also very nicely served. The cottages are creatively furnished with attention to detail. We will definitely go back.
Janet and her father are lovely hosts and her food is amazing.
