8 guests' feedbackIt was both luxurious and cosy. A lovely cottage in a beautiful town. The cottage was warm and welcoming and had everything we needed. We wish we had booked a longer stay. The town of Stanford offers so much, such lovely restaurants and shops. We plan to come back and explore more and also enjoy a relaxed evening at the accommodation in front of the fireplace.
We enjoyed our stay, but when we arrived, there were 3 big dogs instead of one that they told us about. Luckily, it turned out okay, but if I was told about the other animals, we would not have booked.
Unfortunately we couldn't spend much time there. We stayed over there one night to attend a wedding. So we really just in and out. The place was very neat and beautiful and it had been very cuddly. I give 4 stars for safety because my vehicle had to sleep outside on the street, but it is right in front of the unit. I don't know how security is in general at Stanford, but it seemed very safe.
The bed was very low and felt like lumps.
We were partially happy with our accommodation. We felt the room was too small for a double bed as you cannot access the bed from both sides. The clothes rack was very wobbly and obstructed the doorway. It was an awkward room! The door knobs need replacing as they are very difficult to open the doors; the one in the bathroom fell off every time we opened the door. The floorboards creaked and were unstable. The fridge was difficult to open as it squashes your fingers between the top of the fridge and the cupboard that it stands in. Ants in the sugar bowl were a problem as we couldn't use the sugar. The bed was saggy in the middle.
Cottage is comfortable and cosy. Beds and linen are very good. Location is great.
Was an amazing stay, thank you. But the maintenance point of the premises, like the ceiling boards above the main bed, needs attention. I kept waking up covered in roof dust, as the ceiling cracks from above kept falling down on my head and into my mouth. White bedding shows the results immediately. Overall, everything was very pleasant, and I would happily return there once again.
Pleasant but does not lend itself to self catering, eg. no dining room table or chairs, minimum working space to prepare meals, microwave and toaster in cupboard. Flooring was uneven and limited space between coffee table and couch. No wardrobe or shelves to unpack clothing.
