Comfortable overnight stopover between Mozambique and Limpopo. The restaurant is a bonus. Beautiful gardens. Friendly staff.
The room we were first placed in did not have hot water because gas bottle that was empty. We were moved to another room that had hot water. Rooms are neat and clean. If you are a light sleeper, you will lie awake because big trucks passing by, as well as the train passing up the mountain until late at night. The site is slightly neglected, probably due to the winter now. We ate hamburgers at the restaurant which were very tasty. Owners who were both present when we arrived are not very friendly at all. They don't seem to pay much attention to guests.
Bar seems to be treated as an owner's lounge and not as a public place. No atmosphere unfortunately. Room: toilet and kitchen lights work together and thus very interfering.
Unit was absolutely beautiful. Top notch food. Friendly staff. Location great. Value for money through and through. Was bitterly sad to go home after a wonderful weekend.

Room was adequate, location was also very nice for us, the service was very friendly and the food was delicious, will definitely visit Aloes again.
Nice spacious room and comfortable layout, good quality beds and clean linen and room. Kitchen is well equipped. Bathroom adequate, but shower outlet is blocked. Roof leaks when it rains. Delicious food is served, friendly atmosphere.
Dave and his wife gave personal attention and made us feel right at home. The meal they prepared themselves was outstanding. The room was comfortable.
Aloes Country Inn is situated about half way between Johannesburg and the Kruger Park which makes it well placed to do a stop over before entering the park or when going back. The trip to the airport is not that strenuous before taking the long distance flight. The food which Dave prepares is superb.
No one to meet us on arrival and we had a two hour wait before we had access to our room. Fridge not turned on and toilet floor smelly.
The road that rattles is a nuisance. It is beautiful there and the reception is friendly.
