We were very kindly and hospitably received by Lizette. The unit was extremely clean with the nicest fresh and cleanest bedding, the fresh and clean smells of the unit, clean and soft towels and toiletries that can be used with peace of mind. We were able to relax and listen to music after a long day on the road.
My daughter was travelling alone from Phalaborwa to Cape Town. Lizette checked up on her trip all the way from Pretoria to Beaufort West. Assisted her with restaurants for dinner options in the area near the accommodation too. Lizette and her husband are extremely friendly. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

This was our second visit to Altyd Lekker, and it was lekker again. They are well situated, with a really friendly owner, and the room is stunning. It is spacious and has everything you could need and more. If you are stopping there, book an extra night and visit the beautiful Karoo National Park, just 10 minutes away.

Not only was the reception hospitable, the accommodation was incredibly luxurious with no effort spared. From the softest warm winter sheets, winter blankets and electric blankets for cold Karoo nights to fresh milk and a jug of cold water in the fridge. The kitchenware was of the most beautiful and best quality - everything one could need. Safe parking in a very nice and quiet neighborhood! We discovered our new Karo accommodation!

We were passing through and then Altyd Lekker is an excellent stay. There is hardly any immediate outside space so for a longer stay I would not reccomend it. Very good value for money though!

The air conditioner is very noisy in the room and you cannot sleep with that noise. I would recommend they install a new air conditioner, especially when you have four people in an open plan room. The shower head also needs replacement.

The room was very clean and tidy with nice furniture and good quality linen. The room was cramped for 5 people especially because there was no place outside to sit, it's only the room. There is a garden on the other side of the house but we were asked not to open the gate because the dogs could get out. There is a car gate but it is only closed and locked at night and we had to leave our bikes inside the room while we went to eat in town. There are no places to eat within walking distance of the house.

Our stay here was greatly welcomed with small kids. The house is spacious and well-equipped. It gives one the feeling of farm living in the Karoo. Great for large families like ours or a group of friends. There’s even an inside braai for a quick cook up! Real value for money and worth the stay to break up our long road trip.

Friendly hosts, clean and well equipped unit. Arriving in Beaufort West amidst a torrid 42 degrees and walking into a cool 23 degree room. We knew we were in for a comfortable stay.
Lizette received us kindly. Her room is spacious, clean and tidy. The kitchen is fully equipped even if we went out to eat in the evening. The children enjoyed the pool.

We were specifically looking for a place to stay where our rambunctious toddlers (6 years and twin boys of 3 years) could play in a swimming pool and garden after a hot and long car ride from Pretoria. It was still bloody hot (34) when we arrived at 6pm. The garden was not private from the house, there were 3 dogs that had to be enclosed first, and the owner did not want us to use the "green and too deep" pool. This, after we had promised the children for hours there was a lovely cool swimming pool waiting at the sleepover. The accommodation, for 5 people, was just 1 long narrow room with a separate bathroom - built firmly at the back of the house and only accessible from the long driveway next to the house. In the room, and on the driveway with an open gate to the street is where we had to tame the children's pent-up energy from a long day in car seats. Beds for 5 people only about 1 meter apart, (double bed / single bed / sofa bed) but the sofa bed quite hollow so we had to fill it up before twins could sleep on it without rolling towards each other. When I compare it to other stay options at around the same price we used before, it falls way short. I would recommend it maybe for two or at most 3 people, definitely not for people with children. I feel the picture of the pool was misleading and the only reason I chose the accommodation option. The next morning we went for a long walk in the streets in the area just to release the children's pent-up energy.

The sofa bed for 2 people can instead only be offered for 2 smaller children. 2 large children or teenagers can no longer sleep on the sofa bed.

From the minute we left home the owner of this beautiful guesthouse was checking to see how things were going. On arrival we were greeted with smiles and such amazing hospitality. The rooms are stunning, with everything they advertise and much much more. The suite was spotless, the beds warm and cozy and the owners made us feel like family. Highly recommend Altyd Lekker! They are the perfect home away from home.
