13 guests' feedbackThe stay was awesome. The staff were exceptional, the beauty of the mountains and the ever-changing weather made it a really memorable stay.
The quiet and serenity of Amberley Mountain Reserve is unlike anything I have ever experienced on holiday. The moment you step foot through the doors, you feel welcome and at home, and it feels like your life outside the place just melts away. I can't wait to return to the beautiful scenery, the incredible hospitality, and the stress-free tranquility.
Amberley is a lovely, spacious house about 20 km outside Dullstroom. The house is fully equipped and the price includes daily cleaning services. We were a group of six adults and six children and there was plenty of space for everyone to scream and romp and rest. The ponds have plenty of trout, the wildlife roams everywhere and the open spaces are overwhelming. Everything was spotless, and the cleaners and managers very helpful and accommodating. We would love to go back in the summer to see what it looks like when everything is green and the pool isn't freezing cold, but we had a great weekend there. The cement road to the house was a welcome bonus.
Most beautiful, nicest place. Great service, and excellent facilities.
Most beautiful view, friendliest staff and beautiful house. It was a weekend to remember and will definitely go again. Thank you Mike for welcoming us so kindly and making us feel at home.
We thoroughly enjoyed Amberley. The comfortable, very spacious house comfortably accommodated our group of 7, who were mostly indoors due to cold weather. Elias and Sarah-Jane make the stay an unforgettable pleasure. The panoramic farm with wildlife and bird life, ponds and hiking trails offers wonderful relaxation. This was our second visit to Amberley and we will go there again to unpack to be able to breathe properly.
We had a wonderful stay. The lodge and its surroundings were beautiful and the workers' service was very good. The only snag was that we did not receive the codes for the two gates in time. Said she sent the WhatsApp but I didn't receive it and it was difficult to get someone at the gate where there was no reception. "Luckily no damage" as my sons said.
Truly a place to recommend to anyone, without hesitation. Thank you very much for the friendly reception and great service. Our family really enjoyed it.
This house is quite amazing, the rooms and view, the whole layout and friendliness of the staff. Highly recommend.
The house is beautiful! And the rooms were just breath taking. I definitely will becoming back! The staff were fantastic and super friendly! Our stay was amazing.
This was definitely one of the most beautiful houses on one of the most beautiful farms we have ever stayed at. The lodge is beautiful with breathtaking views, the concrete road is impressive and a big bonus to be able to drive up to the house. There was all the time game grazing around the house and the trout ponds are stunning. We were impressed with the staff's friendly service and had a great time relaxing while the children had enough space to play and visit!
Very accommodating. From arrival until we departed again.
Beautiful people friendly modern building with 6 bedrooms - sleeps 12. Good beds and bathrooms. Very good kitchen and lounge facilities (with lovely fireplace). Good fishing options in the various ponds. Gas grill nicely sheltered in the cold. The wood grill facility is pretty so-so - unprotected from the weather, with no height adjustment of grill possible - so never could/wanted to use it.

- Please sign our indemnity, which will cover all members of your party occupying the lodge during your stay. This also covers pets. Please do read what you are signing.- We are pet-friendly for friendly dogs. Please bring bedding, bowls and cleaning towels for your pet. With Amberley's dams and outdoor access, your dog/s are likely to get much wetter and dirtier than at home. Should your pet be inclined to jump on furniture, or sleep on your bed (our duvet covers are white!) please ensure you bring sufficient protective covers and linen. We reserve the right to levy additional cleaning charges if we have to clean furniture, curtains or linen, of, for example, muddy paw prints, excessive dog hair, dog poop, and dog urine. If anything is damaged, stained or has to be replaced as a result of your pets, such as curtains, duvet inners, cushions, etc., this will be for your account. Amberley lodge is not fenced. If your dog/s are inclined to chase wild animals, we recommend having a leash to hand. Baboons and monkeys are regularly encountered on Amberley's walks. In summer months tick prevention is recommended.
- The use of synthetic confetti, glitter and other party decorations is strictly forbidden. Do remember that plastic glitter and the like, remain a visible pollutant for months, and even years after a special weekend has been concluded. We reserve the right to call in professional cleaners from Nelspruit if this rule is ignored. Their cost is around R8 000. You are welcome to use natural, organic, and biodegradable confetti and party decorations.
- Whilst most of your requirements are included in the rate, extra usage and specific ancillaries are charged for, as is detailed later.
