Anchors Aweigh 19 is a self-catering holiday home located in Wood Grange, Hibberdene. The unit is situated in the Anchors Aweigh family resort, next to the Mzimayi River. This is a semi-disability-friendly unit, it has a stairlift installed for disabled or elderly people.
Our JoJo tank serves as a backup for municipality water shortages, and the inverter backup system ensures that the TVs, fans, lights and kettle keep working. Unfortunately, the air conditioners do not work on the inverter. There are two air conditioners, one upstairs in the main bedroom and one downstairs in the lounge. Prepaid electricity applies.
The house can accommodate up to 8 guests. and comprises 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The main bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed, double recliner and a TV with a smart media box offering full DStv, Netflix and YouTube access. The second bedroom is furnished with a double bed. The third bedroom contains a double bed and an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower and equipped with a washing machine. The fourth bedroom is downstairs and has a bunk bed for kids. The guest bathroom is fitted with a corner bath. All areas in the unit have fans, and the lounge and kitchen are open-plan.
All rooms including the lounge and kitchen have mosquito lamps, all windows have mesh over for mosquitos but also to keep the monkeys out.
The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering with a gas stove, fridge, freezer, percolator, microwave, sandwich maker, air fryer, electric frying pan, tumble-dryer, and more than enough cutlery and crockery. The lounge has a comfy lounge suite and a TV with a smart media box offering full DStv, Netflix, Disney+ and YouTube and many multiple streaming apps for young and old access to entertainment. Please note DStv does not play on both TVs at the same time.
There is a patio on the ground floor with an 8-seater patio set as well as a built-in braai, the area has large canvas windows if you feel that it is a bit windy. The top balcony is also fitted with patio furniture for late afternoon or evening drinks.

Very nice stay. Would have liked it if it was closer to the beach. More ideal perhaps for 4 adults and 2 or 3 children. The service was great and the place is clean and tidy.
Everything you need is available and very tidy.
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything needed and more. The place is spacious and very tidy. We had a great time. If it rained, it didn't bother us, because there is an enclosed braai and we could still go around the braai, because the porch has sails that can be opened and closed. We caught good fish and had picnics by the river when we had enough of the sea. There is also a nice place to visit that is within walking distance. We would definitely recommend the place and stay there again. We also felt very safe.
The owner Chantel is very rude and can't talk to people. One mistake, everything goes sour but otherwise, I love the place.

There is a backup generator and a JoJo tank in case of municipal problems.
There will be a short 3-page security and informational disclaimer contract sent for the usage of the unit, this includes personal information required to register when booking into the estate enabling entrance as it is a secured estate.
No Smoking in the unit. Guests can smoke outside and no littering of cigarette buds will be tolerated.
No loud music and noises are allowed on the premises.
Children and disabled persons must be supervised at the pool.
Guests are responsible to clean the braai facilities after using them.
A full inventory list will be handed over and must be checked upon arrival and departure; the key deposit will then be refunded.
Cars must be parked in their designated parking spaces.
The speed limit of a max of 20 km/h is allowed.
Cleaning services can be requested on certain days at an additional cost.
Our admin fee is higher as we need to register your contact number and vehicle to access the gates and the cleaning of linen and towels.
