The decor of the room was tasteful and created a cozy atmosphere, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. Picturesque surroundings and accessible to the sea and mountain - footpaths of the beautiful Hermanus. The location of the guesthouse was ideal. It was conveniently close to landmarks, attractions or popular areas which allowed for easy exploration of the area. I highly recommend this guest house to any individual seeking a retreat that combines luxury, comfort, and warm hospitality.
We stayed for my birthday weekend and had a really great time. The units were clean and fitted with modern appliances. We had everything we needed. Karien and Sean were excellent hosts. friendly and very helpful and made us feel special. Communication was quick and effective. One of the best stays I've had in years.

This is our 2nd visit to Anchor's Rest and we will definitely be back. The units are well equipped with Nespresso coffee machines, gas as well as induction stoves. Provision has also been made for load shedding which is a big plus. The bed and bedding are good quality and comfortable.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Anchor's Rest. The host was very friendly. We spent the entire afternoon chilling at the pool area. The rooms are clean and the building is well secured. Definitely value for money.
We arrived at the house after 14:00 but no one was available to open the gate or answer the phone. I contacted the website who also could not get hold of the owner/manager. We sat in the street in front of the house for more than 20 minutes, before the gate was opened for us. No one came to see us and explain why this happened. We stayed at Anchor's Rest for 5 nights and we were not contacted at all. The information brochure says that the unit is serviced daily, but for 2 of the 5 days no one showed up to service the unit. I tried to inquire but again the phone was not answered and my WhatsApp was also not responded to. The unit is well located and was tidy, but unfortunately there was no service. Also, no one was available to ask about activities in the area, although the information brochure mentions that we are welcome to ask about this.
