The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and no request for assistance was a problem for them. The farm is well situated, being close enough to the tourist attractions, but far enough for you to just escape and enjoy the countryside. Fantastic amenities, so comfortable. We would definitely stay there again.

The farm itself offers spectacular views and breathtaking hiking routes. The extra things make a difference. Unsolicited attention, cold wine on arrival, hot sausage rolls on awakening and nothing was extra. The car was washed, very very neat. Friendly.

"Our big disappointment was that there was no one there when we arrived."

After a 6 hour drive, we had to sit around in the cafe and wait for the owners to show up. We did confirm time of arrival by e-mail 2 days before the time. I took my elderly mother with me, asked for beds to be moved apart, but was told that this would not be possible. It was then done on the day of arrival. You also get the idea on the ad that the unit you stay in is more private, but it is connected to a 2nd unit, which was not ideal. One also shares a porch with the unit next door, not ideal. Our Dstv did not work for 3 days. The self-catering facilities are very limited, with very few cutlery, no meat or steak knives etc. Very little space in the kitchen to be self-sufficient. It would also have been nice if a small basic breakfast was included in the price, as the overnight rates are among the highest in the area. Breakfast is available at R220 per person, a bit excessive! I must at least mention that the unit was very tidy, mattresses comfortable and a neat bathroom. Incredibly beautiful garden. We had read beforehand about hospitality and that people's vehicles were even washed, but unfortunately did not experience it ourselves. In short, I think the price of the unit, for what you get, is way too high. Included breakfast could perhaps justify the price.

Very friendly welcome with coffee/tea and biscuits. Unit's kitchen well equipped to comfortably prepare food for 2 people if necessary with a quiet barbecue in the garden. Vertekke is spacious with a quality king size bed and large comfortable bathroom. Porch offers a nice view of the farm and surroundings. Hospitality of the owners is 5 star. Highly recommend.

We stayed 2 nights at Andes. The room is extremely tastefully furnished, very practical, with a handy kitchenette and excellent bathroom. The room opens onto a lovely porch that attracts you like a magnet. Philna and her skilled team put a lot of effort into preparing the room. There were lots of places of fresh flower arrangements, water and candy treats. The room was perfectly clean and tidy and the bed slept wonderfully. The bathroom has double facilities and is wonderfully spacious and luxurious. We enjoyed breakfast every morning - truly the best we've ever had! The guest house is located a few minutes outside Clarens on a lovely farm where sheep and cattle still bleat and horses show off - and you are in the village within a few minutes. We will definitely be back again and again now that we have discovered this hospitality and gem.

Usually a second visit, to a place where the first visit was excellent, is somewhat of a disappointment. Not this time. Our second was even better than the first in 2016. Philna is an excellent hostess and the service was excellent. Our 4 days felt like two weeks. Everyone at Andes made us feel special. We recommend Andes - it's the best guest house we've ever visited.

Our hosts went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was comfortable in this gorgeous guest house. Every little detail spoke of their passion for hosting people and making them feel welcome in a haven of luxury and beauty. From spoiling us with a glass of sherry to abate the cold, snacks placed in beautiful bowls, a delicious breakfast treat, game viewing, a walk to the bush church under arching poplar trees, and the elegantly decorated guest suite - it was all just fantastic. They even washed my dust-covered 4x4 on the morning of our departure! Honestly haven't felt so heart-sore to leave a place in a long time. A pair of motorised paragliders on the neighbouring property treated us to a beautiful display of their aerial antics too. The kids squealed with excitement when they flew down within a couple of meters overhead to smile and wave at us! It was an unforgettable experience, thank you so much.
