We thoroughly enjoyed the tranquility of the area. The bushbuck walking past the garden and the avid birdlife were an added bonus.
The unit needs a lot of attention to align it with the other unit (2) on the upper level. For example, there is no separate kitchen and only a two-plate hot plate. The microwave oven stands alone in another room which may have previously been used as a kitchen. Furniture is old and a plastic outdoor set is used as a dining room set. The accommodation does meet basic self-care needs.
Value for money: Only 1 roll of toilet paper and a used cookie soap were provided for a 5 night stay. The kitchen is not fully equipped (no coffee plunger and only a two-plate stove in an unsafe place, within reach of small children). Towels are never changed, and after 6 days they smell musty. Customer service: Owner's personal problems are used as an excuse for things not being right, in the end even blaming my pregnancy hormones by her. Her attitude about providing internet in the future (she "doesn't pay for others to watch movies") certainly does not speak to good customer service. Cleanliness: The bathroom was dirty upon our arrival (bath full of brown rings, toilet had suspicious splashes on the top edge, shower was full of mold (especially the ceiling), hair and algae. The overall appearance of the unit is unfinished and untidy, eg hanging cupboard sitting on top of bricks, tiles cracked, furniture upholstery dirty and covered with blankets, electrical wiring hanging everywhere and a hole in the wall above the back door (just to name a few).Location : Nice view of the sea. The area is nice and quiet and peaceful. Safety: Electrical wiring hanging everywhere and lying on the floor, cement tiles that are uneven, windows that are very low and can be opened by any child to more or less Falling 2m speaks volumes about the unit's insecurity. Especially since it is advertised as child friendly and for all ages. Privacy is generally not good - the living room windows look into the owner's living room and there is a door in the corridor that only with ' a dry wall is closed between this unit and one that is permanently occupied. We would not recommend the accommodation in any way.

Safe area close to natural beauty in Dana Bay. Well equipped, clean unit that met all our needs and at a very affordable price. Secure parking behind electric gate. The covered braai and living area were certainly very welcome with beautiful views from the unit. We saw quite a few goats that came to visit the garden. Our privacy is respected at all times.
The owner is extremely helpful, and not only with us but also with other arrivals. The setting is very nice - and what a view. The internet signal was important to us and was mostly good. Most others had no signal. Lovely people.

I wouldn't recommend Anita's for a stay if it's 2 people or a young couple with kids. The plan that is available for 2 people didn't feel private to us, as it is only separated by a door that the landlady locks from here side. At night, as you went to the toilet, there was always spiders, the towels didn't smell fresh and clean, there were no cloth, mop to clean with. The cutlery were not clean as well with stains on. If a tap were opened by the landlady or from the above people you could hear it in the flat. We would have preferred a place on it's own, because with all my correspondence with Anita, I did ask if the place is separate from the landlord, but I wasn't answered. It is a nice place, the area is nice, its safe, but went people is on vacation from far you don't wanna feel lied to.
Won't stay there again. After 4 nights stay the owner refused to give us fresh bedding and towels. To us that was an insult.

The self catering equipment in the house was very nice and the bedding/towels nice too. They do however need to put out cleaning cloths (for floor/shower/bath etc.) in the bathrooms and kitchen for guests to use. Bedside mats & tables would be nice too.

I do not think it's a standard apartment because it did not have TV- or living room. We expected more for the price. The entertainment area is not part of the apartment, it's part of another house that can be rented out. It's far from the apartment, therefore impractical.

Anita is a lovely person, she made sure we were comfortable and we were really only there for a family reunion, but I will not take that accommodation again. I was a little disappointed in the space available. I did not realise there was no lounge and also not really a kitchen, there is only a microwave available. The kitchen basin is in the bathroom and you cannot use the bath due to this. The shower door does not stay closed.
The house can be cozy if you e.g. 2 families go home. The house has a covered patio with a barbecue.

Accommodation comprises 2 units and can accommodate 4 guests each. The units on offer include Anita’s Flat No 1 and Anita’s Flat No 3 - upstairs. All rooms come equipped with comfortable beds and a bathroom fitted with a bath and shower. Linen and towels are included.
