What a place, I have never felt so relaxed, was one of the best places I have ever stayed, was just so beautiful and open, will go back again.

As jy vir 'n plek soek om heeltemal weg te kom van die alledaagse gejaag, dan is dit die plek. Jy is letterlik in die middle van nêrens en al wat jy om jou kan sien en hoor is die Karoo. Die kamp, sterre en eienaar is amazing. Wens ons kon nog 'n aand langer gebly het. As jy 'n avontuur biker is soos ek word dié plek absoluut aanbeveel. Al wat jy nodig het is 'n tandeborsel en 'n skoon onderbroek, die res is als daar te koop (hout, braaipakkies, ontbyt, vol honesty kroeg). Ons sal beslis weer Apollo besoek.
The road is ideal for vans, cars can probably drive there too, but very slowly and carefully! The tents are absolutely top quality, the window in the roof is excellently placed for stargazing. All amenities are there for you to just relax! Hannes and Paula go out of their way to make it as convenient as possible for you. Definitely going again soon!
Excellent location, it's remote, but not too difficult to access. When you come to the Tankwa Karoo, you seek solitude, but also a good time with your fellow travellers. It's hard to overstate Apollo de Karoo's uniqueness. All the amenities you'd want, without intruding on what the location has to offer. And to top it all, your hosts are wonderful people.

We are accessible with a vehicle that has high ground clearance like an SUV or bakkie, but a 4 x 4 is not necessary.
There are approximately 30km of gravel/farm road travelling if coming N1 turning off at Matjiesfontein to Sutherland. Other roads may have significantly more gravel road travelling.
As the accommodation is self-catering, please bring all necessary food and drinks for yourselves.
We use the honesty policy so please leave money for reimbursement of any items broken. Any items found broken or missing by the caretaker or cleaner after your departure will be charged to you.
Dogs are allowed only with prior arrangements. The accommodation is not fenced in and dogs should not chase the sheep that are on the farm. If guests stay at the tented camp area, dogs must be people-friendly as the areas are communal.

Guests have access to a communal kitchen and braai facilities. Bedding and towels are provided. There are platforms next the tent for guest to sleep under the stars for part of the evening.
