Units were clean and tidy. The staff went out of their way to make it as comfortable and pleasant as possible for us. Because we had a baby, they moved us to another unit that even provides a camping cot. We will definitely go there again. We had a great time at the accommodation.

We really enjoyed our short weekend at Aquizi. The units are well appointed with everything you need. We love their idea of "off-the-grid" with still the essentials such as small fridge, hot water and gas stove. The units were clean and tidy, and the staff friendly and helpful. We will be happy to visit there again.

If you can live with just solar power and a donkey hot water device without regular 240 volt electric power, and you just want to rest, you will enjoy the place. There was no television all weekend, but luckily we didn't miss it. The chalet is very rural (rustic in English), but very neat and clean and well equipped, with gas equipment for cooking and cooling. A little attention to the low water pressure in the taps and the rust at times in the hot water system can improve matters even further. During our stay, further night lights were installed on the site around the chalets, which is also a great improvement.
The place is quite rustic, and you need to be prepared to live with solar, gas, and 'donkey' power! The lapa that we used for our family reunion had all the equipment we needed, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. If you are looking for a family holiday venue, please enquire beforehand if the swimming pool, etc. is actually usable before you book!
It was not good or bad, but it was just in between because we could not even get hold of the people who worked there, and they didn't even check in on us to see if we were comfortable or anything.

We were spoiled with an extra cabin and Neil's service is very good. He was constantly available if we needed any questions or help. He let my sister's boy ride horses and everything. The cabins are cute and big enough for two adults, with a child. We looked forward to each cabin having a private splash pool, unfortunately they were empty (but, it makes sense and didn't bother us much as it was bitterly cool). There is solar power, which helps a lot, although the USB plugs with which you charge your mobile phone unfortunately didn't quite work. Other than that, it was a very nice weekend and we apologize for being a bit noisy on Saturday night. We will definitely go again!

Aquizi is far enough from Joburg to feel like you have gone somewhere without travelling for ages. Our accommodation was a tidy spot somewhere between camping and glamping, ie. We had a bed and our own bathroom, but cooked our meals on a fire under the stars in the company of horses. Friendly hosts and great company make a world of difference.
If you suffer from FOMO, this isn't for you. If you are after a secluded off-grid nature experience, go for it. Solar lights, wood fire water heater (works way better than I expected) at the back, heard of horses running past your door every so often. Neil and the team are friendly, helpful, and smiling and make you feel welcome. Restaurant pricing is very reasonable, portions are large. The atmosphere is great, with antique furniture and items in the restaurant area. The main hangup for me, at no fault of the lodge, was, I could hear the road passing the property. It did get busy at times. But that's just me looking for absolute silence.
Extra lighting is a must. In the evening, one struggles to prepare meals. Gas geysers will work better than the donkeys that also rust inside. Hot water on demand is a must. Bed was awesome and splashpool too. It was wonderfully peaceful.

The host was very helpful. The host worked very hard to accommodate us for the weekend. The cottages are private and the grounds are tidy.
We were the only guests there. We were "upgraded" to the Owls Nest - Barn Owl. The USB chargers were not working, and when we enquired about the fridge, we were told that it was tripping the solar, therefore it will not work. The photos on the website are in no way a reflection of how the Lodge/Ranch looks. The room was clean and tidy, and the workers were friendly.
Pool full of frogs and decomposed insects, not usable, low water pressure. Excess flies. Horses ball everywhere at units.
If you want to go camping, take your own water and plenty of wood and solar/generator with you. Upon our arrival, the workers received us. They were very friendly but didn't really know what was going on. There was a large group of people who were making a lot of noise and who were drinking a lot. One lady got lost in the dark because the lights didn't work. Strangers can enter the gate at any time. The gate is not regularly locked nor monitored. We really did not feel safe. There was no water. My husband had to ask 3 times for them to turn on the pump, which did not happen. There were times when we had to get wood for the donkey and make the fire ourselves. The workers regularly found wood and built the fire. I also just have to mention that Neil is very friendly. Our children were able to ride horses, but that was also the last time we saw them.
A warm and friendly place with silence to come and rest. Everything was far beyond our expectation and need. Thank you very much. You will see us again.

I loved that they had small animals for you to pet or view. That place provided for both self-catering or food could be provided. My partner and I enjoyed that place and it was what we needed, and would come again.

We are not campers and our grandchildren wanted to feel what a caravan feels like. It was wonderfully comfortable to relax in a permanent caravan. Everything was right and convenient. We all really enjoyed it. Owners are very hospitable and helpful and make a lot of effort.
WiFi was not working, had difficulties with network.
Campground does not have power but it is described as such. Entertainment during our time of stay was 10/10. The lodge is still in its infancy so you look beyond the small things. Also taking into account the prices versus faults one can't really complain. But well done to the owners. Hope the lodge one day achieves all that is coming to it.

Everything was nice and clean. Apart from a fridge that didn't keep cold well and USB points that wouldn't charge our phones and the solar lights inside the caravan that didn't work last night and an outside tap that leaked badly, our alternative fridge and amenities were in chalet offered opposite caravan. Neil was quick with help and very friendly. Thank you very much.

Electricity wasn't exactly reliable. Gate seemed to be always open, so didn't feel 110% safe. Extremely nice room and outside for price.
We enjoyed a lovely break at Aquizi Lodge. We had a great time camping, but the horses were a highlight for the children! Neil-they were exceptionally helpful and friendly. We really appreciated it and that is why we will go there again.
Great place to get away from the city.
We spent 4 nights at Aquizi and had a really good rest. The unit was clean, tidy and well equipped. Close enough to Pretoria if you need anything, but far enough from the city's hustle and bustle. There is no electricity, but enough USB points to charge your phone. Lights and fridge work with solar and a single plate gas stove is provided for cooking. Hot water is provided by means of a donkey in which a fire is made morning and evening. Joyce and Joseph looked after us very well and were always very friendly and helpful. I can recommend that the owners install mesh on the room windows or a mosquito net in the room as the mosquitoes were the only factor that spoiled our stay.

Was a nice getaway, just what one needs.
There is a wonderful atmosphere. Farm animals for the children to look at, a park for them to play in. Chalets are lovely and hot water is made with a donkey! Kids learned something new for sure! It's also not too far from Dinokeng Nature Reserve, so we had a great time visiting there for the day too!

Nice and quiet if you want to get away from the city's noise. Almost like working on solar power and in the morning at 7 o'clock your hot water is heated with a donkey, and again at 4 o'clock in the afternoon. Should you wish to use a hairdryer, the staff are only too willing to bring the generator closer for your convenience. We will definitely visit again.

Quiet place to just get away from the city.
We stayed at this wonderful lodge for the second time. Aquizi Lodge is located close to Pretoria which makes it very easy for a quick getaway. The reception is always friendly and they will go out of their way to be accommodating. The accommodation is comfortable and tidy. Plenty of wood is provided. We will go back here again and again.
What a welcome we had. Since we arrived until we left we only experienced great service. All the staff members that we came in contact with were friendly and helpful. It is a rustic venue that has all the basics, clean and well maintained. Keep up the good work and service.
The farm life of feeding animals, running and playing was delightful for our 8-year-old boy. Also a good break from 'the normal': power, television, mobile phones.

Owners are making a great effort with the lodge. Some attention needs to be directed to existing chalets as bed linen was torn and curtains were stained/marked.
Not the place for you if you want luxury. If willing to "rough it" and have a "camp out", with surprising extras, little conveniences, then the lodge comes highly recommended.

We had a great time relaxing away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Our stay in the 3 Fisheagle chalets was very pleasant. Very neat. It was light enough and had hot water for showers. They were kind enough to make us a gas cupboard available for one of the chalets and the generator was very handy electricity for the ladies to blow dry their hair.
The owners may consider installing a small counter on the opposite side of the sink outside so that one has some space to prepare meals.

Fridge in caravan not working. We were promised a working fridge, which was never delivered. Had to use a fridge in a chalet that was used by other guests. Hot water was a problem. If I had known there was primitive hot water I might have reconsidered my reservation there. No clean hot water in sinks, brown and unusable. Shower and cold tap clean. Resort "oversells" themselves. We were under the impression there is a restaurant and bar according to what we saw on photos.

We were at the lodge for a very short time but we had a great time. The Christmas dinner was delicious.
There was enough lighting throughout the night, enough hot water was available (even though there were no electricity points in the unit. This was definitely a break that I can recommend to anyone. The security of your belongings and car was excellent and the I definitely give cleanliness a 10 out of 10.
Aquizi is just what we needed, to reload and relax. Susan and Sophia are very friendly pleasant ladies they made us feel at home immediately. We wish them every success for the future. We will definitely visit Aquizi Lodge again.
We had a great stay. The staff made us feel welcome and went out of their way to make us comfortable.
We stayed one night on our way home from Dinokeng, the chalet was perfect for what we needed. They are clean and have hot water even though no electricity. The only downside was that we found the main road to be a bit noisy.
We didn't have a working fridge or gas stove, drinking water was questionable. Drunk person almost caused an accident and could easily gain access to the lodge and walk around the premises. No keys for chalets.
We wanted to get away and love the camp fire and stars effect with little to non influences from outside.
Was very nice. People were very friendly and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable.

Booted Eagle and Spotted Eagle each comprises 2 sleeping areas equipped with a double bed and 2 single beds. The bathroom is equipped with a shower, toilet and basin.
Fish Eagle is suitable for 18 guests and comprises 3 units with private bathrooms. The unit sleeps 18 guests in 5 bedrooms. There are kitchenettes in 3 of the rooms. These units are equipped for self-catering and enjoy access to braai facilities and an outdoor washing-up area for dishes.
Owls Nest offers a selection of 6 wooden cabins, 4 of which has their own bathroom while the other 2 units make use of shared ablution facilities.
Falcon Haven are caravans available in the caravan park. It has a double bed and has access to shared ablution facilities with hot water showers. Outside there is a braai area and a sink.
Note that there is no 220V electricity, but provision has been made for lighting in all facilities.
