We had a fantastic time, the units were lovely and clean. However, the hairdryer wasn't working and the hot water pressure was terrible, so showering and bathing was an awful experience, especially when it's cold and you want to warm up before bed.

Arcadia has potential but lack of owner or manager presence was very evident. The two ladies at the front desk were trying their best to man the desk, run the restaurant, serve in the bar, and sort out the rooms. My room had a chemical smell when we arrived, and it seemed as if our linen had come out of storage with moth balls. We could not breathe, our eyes were watering, no way we could sleep in that bed. We eventually had to throw the duvet and sheets out of the room and slept on the mattress protector with a sheet. I asked for my linen to be changed, and when I got back at the end of the day, the room and bed still had the same smell. I then had to ask for another room and we moved. We spent the whole time there trying to keep the four cats out of the room. The lights in the restaurant, bar, and veranda were off at 5.50 pm until I asked for them to be turned on. I had to call someone to open the bar so we could get a drink. No dinner was available on Friday night and no breakfast on Saturday. I had to pay a balance, and when I went to reception on Saturday morning at 7.30, no one was there, so I left.
Well organised and good food.
Just sad that the restuarant is no longer open.

As someone who travels for work, I always require a desk to work at. The concrete desk in my chalet was very high, and even though I am quite tall and sat on two pillows, I could not work comfortably on it. Eventually, I resorted to sitting on the bed with my laptop. However, everything else at Arcadia Luxury Guesthouse was fantastic. The bed was lovely, the linen was nice, and the shower was great. Perhaps they could be a little more generous and provide more than one teabag per day though.

Arcadia Luxury Guesthouse is a neat and well-equipped guest house. Very quiet and peaceful.
Recommendation for future is that after painting the rooms, allow rooms to air sufficiently - very strong paint smell in the room I stayed in. Check batteries on gate remotes. I stood outside for about 15 minutes, in the dark, trying to get someone to answer the phone to come and open the gate for me.

On our route back from the Eastern Cape, Arcadia Guest House was the very best choice for accommodation. Silver clean, and comfortable rooms, neat, cuddly linen, great service and Jean was extremely helpful. The meals she provided were of excellent quality and we could not have eaten tastier at any other restaurant. I will not stay at any other guest house on future trips, only Arcadia Guest House.
One of our best experiences so far. We received very good service from all the staff and our room was beautiful with the most beautiful view over a lovely garden. Breakfast was well prepared and tasty. Staff were well trained and fully prepared for load shedding. We definitely recommend Arcadia, we were more than satisfied.

Although the bit of road to the guest house is very bad, we were impressed with the setup, and received kindly, and very satisfied with the room. The breakfast was also excellent!

It is for sure another place I will come to without a doubt. The hospitality and willingness of the staff to accommodate me at the craziest times of the night was what one needs after such a long day on the road. They even offered us pre-baked buns on top of everything that was already done by the time we got there. Our expectation was not much. Had a difficult journey with a car breaking down but was met at the gate by 9.30pm that evening by the friendliest host who made it his personal mission to make sure our room was in -4 degree weather is warm, that food was brought to our room and that there was just enough of everything. It made the 5 hours of standing on the side of the road and waiting for another car worth it. I would recommend it to anyone. Also a big star for Liberty who made sure everything was in order.

Everything was very neat and clean. Rooms are wonderfully spacious and equipped with ceiling fans as well as air conditioning. However, there was no toilet spray in the bathroom. Referring to it, the person at reception informed us that it is not found in any rooms.

Staff unhelpful and slow. No help at reception area. Upon arrival and departure. Had to call a staff member before 2pm to check in and had to walk around to find someone who could help check out.
The website is misleading. We booked there precisely because of the restaurant and bar on the premises. On our arrival we were told that the staff had not arrived, and that there was no dinner or breakfast available. We had to drive into town after all the hours on the road, to get something to eat. The room was tidy, but the hot water was not turned on, and we had to wait to shower. There was also only a 500 ml water bottle in the room. The place looks neglected and as if it is no longer in terrible use. The decor is nice, but dates back several years. Definitely would not recommend them!

Beautiful, unfortunately we were only there one night. Also been in the winter, sure it's even more beautiful in the summer.
Despite the fact that the access road is not good, we enjoyed the peaceful stay. The bathroom flooded due to a problem with the shower head, the management responded immediately and also dried and neatly ironed the clothes that got wet.
For us, this guest house is a favorite overnight place to break up our travels to and from the Eastern Cape.
Was there only late, called them to confirm everything, kept the restaurant open until we arrived, incredibly friendly and yes, would highly recommend. Definitely my stop again on the way south.

The service is extremely professional, the rooms extremely neat and clean and had a great evening in the restaurant. We couldn't stay for breakfast, but they prepared 4 delicious food packages for us before we left the next morning just after 6:00. Thank you very much Arcadia staff. Very cute. Unfortunately, our reservation for a Sunday, with the restaurant and bar both closed, was quite a problem in Kroonstad, with extremely limited other alternatives, only a Spur, with delicious food, but slow service!
Awesome place to stay at.
The rooms each had their own character and the interior decoration was exceptional. The dinner was really very cheap and therefore we were surprised by its quality. We all agreed that we felt spoiled to stay in such a beautiful guest house.
Arcadia Guesthouse was an ideal place to sleep over. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was tasty and it is particularly convenient to use the restaurant on site after a long journey.

All that bothered me was that the air conditioner and the bedside lamps did not work. Also have to mention that the guest house's staff are not too friendly. The restaurant's staff is very friendly.
Confirmed beforehand that the restaurant was open for dinner. Thant's why we chose Arcadia for our trip back from the Kruger Park and Mossel Bay. Accommodation and eatery on one property is ideal. Unfortunately it wasn't the case. Despite the fact that the guesthouse was almost fully booked the restaurant was closed. The staff were curt and not hepful to suggest other restaurants. The sun was setting and where should two pensionars get dinner in an unknown place after 700 km on the road. I feel misleaded and duped.

Reception was good and friendly. Would have liked it if someone could help with our baggage as I am crutches and my wife had to carry everything. The shower's valve needs replacing - the small stream of water hardly works and there was no hot water. My wife didn't want to leave to shower on too long, due to water restrictions. Thus I didn't have a shower. Otherwise the room, hospitality and restaurant were excellent.

This complex is laid out tastefully - the same counts for the rooms. The service was very fast and friendly. The only problem we had wat the stretch of gravel road which was a bit bumpy. What worsened this was that we arrived after dark and it was a very stressful trip from PE. Under normal circumstances it wouldn't have been a problem.
The guest house is located in a very peaceful environment and what's nice is that there is a restaurant and you don't have to drive back to town for something to eat. Rooms are clean and tidy.
I was incredibly grateful that I could take my 2 Yorkies with me. Very tidy and all staff very friendly and helpful. I would have liked a small fridge in the room.

I used to have to be in Kroonstad and the wait was extremely inconvenient. Arcadia should plan on this as it doesn't fit with the rest of the experience.

It's the second time I stay there. Unfortunately I didn't have WiFi reception in my room, I was quite far from the office. Otherwise it's a very nice place. The roads in Kroonstad are dilapidated and the road to Arcadia is shockingly bad, but of course it's not their fault.
