The glorious silence of nature, and surrounded by dairy and chicken farms, gives a wonderful feeling of peace and tranquility. And the heated pool is a bonus, especially for the limbs of older people who have walked a lot during the day!
The rooms and view are too beautiful for words, there is everything and more you will need if you forgot something. The staff and workers on the farm are very friendly and always willing to help. We had fun swimming and barbecuing. It was a very nice weekend, we can't wait to visit again.

We can truly, without any reservation, confidently recommend ArendsRus Country Lodge. As Bed&Breakfast accommodation, ArendsRus Country Lodge offers truly exceptional quality. The wooden chalet in which we spent the night is exquisite and picture-perfect with special attention to detail and which caters for all possible needs. The working farm, in a beautiful natural setting, also provides for a variety of outdoor activities, e.g. a heated swimming pool and walking trails while the restaurant offers delicious breakfasts and dinners. Eskom? No problem as a generator does the needful. The staff are friendly and very helpful - especially a cheerful Charnè who manages reception, accommodation and the restaurant with dedication. Her knowledge of ArendsRus Country Lodge's activities and the environment was enriching.

What a stunning treasure to find at the top of the hill. Leafy, pretty and hospitable. We were only there one night as a stopover and all agreed we would have loved a few days. Side note: be sure to ask for the directions for the tar road as Google Maps took us on a very long dirt road.

We really enjoyed staying at ArendsRus. The management and staff are very friendly and helpful, the accommodation (we were in the AJ² Arch Cabin) is modern and very well laid out with a beautiful view of the mountains. What stands out about ArendsRus is that the lodge is located on a working farm, it's a relaxing experience to watch the activities, cattle sometimes grazed before our stay (although turned away in a camp). However, the lodge is very expertly laid out so that it is separate from the activities on the farm, so you enjoy the pleasures of the farm around you, but from the protected luxury of the lodge. Our only recommendation would perhaps be to install air conditioning on the upper level of the Arch Cabin, if possible. During the day, it gets very hot at this level. However, it cools down quickly as soon as the sun goes down and then it's lovely to sleep there, the rest of the house is nice and cool. Thank you ArendsRus for a wonderful and unique holiday, keep it up!

It's very nice there at Arendsrus, but would like to bring the following to the attention of future customers: They advertise conference facilities. That's not the case (we asked for it and were turned away.). During load shedding, they only turn on the generator once a day and there is no WiFi available either. Such a person cannot work there. Cottages look like they are one unit, but are two rooms on one wooden floor, so you hear everything your neighbors are doing. Not ideal if one comes for the quiet. Restaurant was only open in the morning, not available at all in the afternoon and evening. It's a pleasant place, but inconsistencies with what they advertise and what they offer are not the same at all.

The luxury tent was then my accommodation for 1 night. And I was thoroughly impressed with the tent. Nice big shower, he and she wash bowls, silence and on your own. The view was awesome. Def my first choice of room going forward.

From hut 5 one can even see Mossel Bay's lighthouse flashing at night and during the day the view is unbeatable. Friendly service, clean and tidy accommodation and definitely good value for money. Lots of attention to detail, such as sherry, chocolate and fruit in the room. The gardens and buildings are lovely and the breakfast very tasty. However, don't make the same mistake I did into thinking that this is a fully self-catering unit. The facilities are for tea and coffee making only, although there is access to a microwave.

Thank you for a wonderful, relaxed stay. The cabin is very comfortable and the service and food was excellent. Great attention to detail and the generator makes a huge difference (for work). If I could make one unusual recommendation it would be to remove the alien exotic trees from the valley and restore the indigenous forest. In my opinion, that change would make your place truly spectacular. All the best.

My friend and I have been coming to ArendsRus Country Lodge for several years, sometimes together and sometimes on our own for work in the area. The cottages are beautiful and well equipped. The views are breathtaking. The silence in nature is like food for the soul. And then there is the excellent service we have always received there without exception. There is great walking and cycling. Truly a place I would confidently recommend to anyone.

It's a small but intimate lodge with so much potential and we are convinced that, with the energy of the young management team, it will be realised. The accommodation units are user-friendly and radiate tranquility. The restaurant, given the Covid circumstances, could be stepped up, especially in light of the fact that they are a bit away from George's eateries. The location and everyone's hospitality is great!
The destination is out of town, yet any direction from George is easily accessible. The accommodation is well equipped with lots of extra treats such as sherry and fruit. The view from the balcony is a winner and you can find your soul here again. The gardens are a loop court, the staff are all very friendly and make you feel so at home. Meals are excellent and value for money. There are so many reasons to go back again!

It is one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed. Everything is well maintained and tidy. Everything that was promised in advance was in place. They were able to serve a delicious dinner at short notice and brought it to my room. The view is beautiful. Can recommend anyone to stay there without hesitation. There is a dirt road to the accommodation, but it is quite well maintained. The parking is also not close to the rooms, with possible slippery paths.

The lady on duty was very friendly and helpful. Just 2 small things: The shower in one of the bathrooms doesn't work well, it kept getting hot and then cold all the time. We went to ask if the pool could be heated and the lady said it takes 2 days to heat up so the pool was a bit cold to use. But now we know for the future. The lady on duty was very nice and helpful and makes the most delicious food. Full marks for her! We will definitely visit the lodge again and tell our family and friends about the nice place.

Scenic rest! It is unusual for me that so much effort is put into an ordinary reservation and makes that very gesture that I would love to come back again. It's far enough out of town for peace and quiet and close enough to go eat somewhere or explore if you wanted to. The accommodation is also so beautiful, you just feel refreshed and at ease.

Eskom took out their regions again, but Arendsrus quickly rectified the matter. We experienced no inconvenience with power. Will definitely go again, just a little longer. We had a dream holiday at ArendsRus Country Lodge. The views took our breath away as well as the lovely beautiful rooms that turn golden yellow with the sunset. We received exceptionally friendly service throughout our stay and were pleasantly surprised with how many luxuries were available to us. The gardens and views are any nature lover's dream - we thoroughly enjoyed walking in them, relaxing and staring at the view. We drove home rested.

It's a gem at the foot of the Outeniqwa mountains. Lovely scenery. Beautiful residential units with yellow wood floors, stained glass window above the bed and comfortable patio outside. From the stoepie you have a breathtaking view of the gorge and mountains. The restaurant's food was top notch. The staff is very friendly and quickly made us feel at home. Unfortunately the website let us book with them even though they were fully booked for the weekend. Fortunately there was a cancellation and they had room for us. The people are very friendly and helpful with a breakfast too big to finish.
It was one of the most pleasant experiences of the year. Carefree, worry-free and you just get that feeling right from the start that everything is going to go perfectly ─ and it did. Clean, tidy and the tranquility cannot be described. With the mountain as a background, you can hardly tear yourself away from going to the sea and not just staying there for the day. It was delicious and the food is out of the books, Not nice to leave, but at least it creates the opportunity to go back again.

Would just like to know in advance about the last 5 km dirt road. Wasn't prepared for that at all and almost turned around. Happily drove up and got excellent accommodation. As a single person also felt completely safe.

Advertise breakfast from 7 to 10 and last morning everything was closed and locked and we left for the airport without our breakfast just before 8. On the way we passed the driver and she just said, oh but we didn't say we were driving early. However, it was they who found out tomorrow what time we were leaving. The other guests had arranged to leave early and they also left without breakfast. The manager told them she forgot! Think it is extremely poor and would think twice about staying there again.

We were only looking for a place to sleep to go to a bicycle event and we found a holiday destination. The environment's beauty and tranquility is unreal. The houses are beautiful with a lovely view, very clean and fully equipped with everything you need. The best was to book in after the bicycle riding, to shower and to enjoy a lovely and calm Sunday dinner. Breakfast was tasteful and filling. the staff friendly, considerate, helpful and the atmosphere cosy and good-natured. There was a wedding the previous day and it seemed so idyllic that I even felt like getting married myself! Definitely a place I'd visit again for a breakaway!
