Yes, hot tub is the best.
Interesting place to stay. There is so much to look at you cannot possibly take it all in. The little woelpoel was great for a cool down. Since we arrived on New Year's Day, the Manna restaurant closed early, but the host informed us in advance and offered us a meal of roast leg of lamb and veg cooked by the host. Absolutely delicious and very much appreciated. The hosts are great and nothing is too much trouble. A word of advice though is to make sure you only arrive at 3 or later. We had no cell reception and arrived just before 2 and could not phone to let them know we were outside. They only open the door at 3, and sitting in the car for an hour can get very hot.

From the moment we arrived Pieter and Elmarie the hosts went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and pointed out the best restaurant in town. Walking around the 'Mall' and taking pictures was a sensory overload as they have used every bit of scrape they could find to create the most amazing things. We have been here many years ago but not stayed over so this had been on our bucket list and it did not disappoint.

Undertook a 10 Day Tour - Williston's highest turning point. Kraaifontein, Hartenbos, Williston, Lambersbaai, Vredenburg, Kraaifontein.
A one day visit is too short to take in everything. Very clean and tidy, good value for money. Can definitely recommend the Ark Gastehuis B&B. Upon our arrival on a hot day, we were greeted with two bottles of ice cold water!
An oasis in the Karoo. There is enough in the Ark Guest House and B&B to keep you busy for quite some time. Top notch hospitality. Many thanks Pieter and Elmarie for a very pleasant stay. Our teenagers thoroughly enjoyed the Ark Guest House and B&B. Feel free to visit there and put it on your bucket list.
The place is an old building. The rooms are also old. Lot of history in this building. Kind of a living modern art, art and old stuff museum. Lot of interesting things to look at. Staff are friendly and helpful. Very reasonable price. Good value for money. Safe parking for your car. Cute dogs. Quiet at night.
So much to see at Die Ark and the owners have so much passion for their guest house.
On our road-trip to the Cape Williston was a small pleasant stop and Ark was quirky and fun with very friendly hosts.
Received very good service. We got a flat tire close to town and the owner went to great lengths and arranged for the tire to be repaired. Nice for small children and our dog was also kindly received and was able to have a good time. The Manna restaurant is very close and the food and service are fantastic.
We were very well looked after by the hosts, Pieter and Elmarie. They were very helpful and most pleasant during our stay, engaging us in good conversations over a few drinks.
Good place to make a halfway stop between Cape Town and Johannesburg.
We slept over one night on the way back home. Pieter received us kindly and took us on a tour of the entire setup, from the coffee station to the putt-putt course to the arcade and the Williston Mall. Years of collections and an exceptional place to sleep over. Highly recommended!

We were hospitably received by Pieter. Enjoy a delicious dinner in town at the restaurant. The room was comfortable for the night's overnight stay with enough warm blankets against the cold. Yard is interestingly decorated with all kinds of items and we looked around and took pictures everywhere. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit!

Kamer was ruim en badkamer netjies en skoon. Ek het twee punte afgetrek oor die feit dat dit ontsettend warm was en die waaier nie eers gewerk het nie. Daar was ook nie drink water verskaf nie. Sal volgende keer ‘n ander plek probeer.

Ons het nie die eenheid met 2 kamers soos bespreek gekry nie maar wel 'n enkelkamer met 3 beddens. Dit was vir my vrou ongemaklik. Die eienaars het n traak-my-nie agtige houding gehad en beide het aan ons gesê hulle doen nie die besprekings nie. Ek het hulle aan hulle gesê dat iemand moet verantwoordelikheid neem hiervoor waarop hulle antwoord was hulle kan kyk of daar elders in die dorp n enkel kamer is. Ek het dit daar gelaat!

Not the most modern room you will find, but everything that needed to be there is there and is neat and clean. The owners were always available if we needed anything. We were a touring group of 8 people and had a warm welcome from Pieter and Elmarie. We were busy greeting each other and suddenly we had a cup of warm coffee in our hands! What an awesome place! The rooms were nice, big and clean (also tea and coffee facilities with a snack basket). Breakfast was served with much love and smiles! The communal lounge is full of interesting stuff like games, books, history and Doppies bar for guests only! We only stayed one night but will definitely go back to enjoy more of what Ark and the Mall is offering.

Not to mention Pieter's interesting stories. Relaxing in the garden with an ice cold beer in good company, with my mother-in-law, cats, dogs and daughter was great. A hedgehog came to greet us and made us feel welcome. Features the basic amenities needed for an even longer stay with a full breakfast and delicious ground coffee. Manna, the restaurant around the corner and also within walking distance, serves delicious lunches and dinners. It was nice browsing and shopping at the Williston Mall.

The guest house is part of the Williston mall complex which is a quirky, eclectic mix of the owners, Pieter and his wife's imagination. Rates are very reasonable and rooms are equally eclecticly furnished. A must visit if in this area.

What an experience this gem in Williston is. Not only is this the most eccentric place, but the host and hostess are so friendly that you feel at home right away. Karoo hospitality! It exists and it's "alive and kicking" in the Ark Gastehuis, with host Pieter and hostess Elmarie Naude. They treated us, as strangers, like old acquaintances and made my husband's fiftieth birthday unforgettable. I ate the most delicious salt rib on this earth, and to make everything even more special, Jan Braai was also there. The room was cozy, the eggs at breakfast farm eggs, the lamb sausage excellent. You have to get out here, it was a bucket list experience! I washed the Karoo mutton smell I picked up around the fire out of my parka with great sadness.
Thank you very much for an incredibly warm, friendly welcome. A hot water bag and coffee before I go to bed were just 2 of the thoughtfulness I received. Neat, clean accommodation and exceptional atmosphere and very friendly owners.

This is one guesthouse I will recommend for any type of guest. It is interesting, value for money, very clean and the customer service excellent. The only thing that is a problem is the parking on the street. The owner luckily arranged that we park our cars behind a gate. The breakfast was also amazing! Thank you, it was a great experience to stay at Ark B&B.
The Naude couple so friendly. They made you feel very welcome. Well equipped sleeping place. The bed sleeps great. Such a cute setup there. Hospitality gets 100%. Had a great sleep.
2 artists overflowing with kindness in their very unique hangout. We marveled at the decor in their extensive garden and children's playground - a children's paradise. Owners receive you friendly and welcoming with a milk tart. The rooms are very comfortable and creatively decorated with extra treats.

The Williston Mall is truly an experience. Williston is a beautiful Karoo village.
It was supposed to be just our first stop but due to circumstances had to stay three nights. The people were very friendly and the food delicious (especially the lamb chops). We will definitely visit there again.
When you stop in front of the guesthouse you are almost startled because it looks like a cafe/shop. While you still come to be greeted. Your friendly host meets you at your car. Warm welcome and hospitality radiate from the whole family and you feel like part of them. There is interested company in a light joking way that makes you relax wonderfully after the long journey. The most delicious Karoo lamb chops for dinner were delicious. Later that evening, the Mall was specially opened so that we could shop. We thoroughly enjoyed this eccentric guest house. This is different!
Welcome by enthusiastic proprietor. Room small but warm and comfortable.
There were a few things that weren't 100%, the shower was scalding hot then freezing cold, the drain a bit clogged and the power was off in the morning when we got up. After a week in Tankwa, you were looking for a little more facilities, but the staff were friendly and everything was clean and tidy. Lots of character, wish we had arrived earlier to be able to visit the people a little more.
I liked that the guests all sat around one big table and ate. It was very cozy.
We were made very welcome and the evening meal and hospitality was great. Not cheap in terms of meals, but worth while, good home cooked plate of food.
Poor reception with host who's admin who was not up to date. No small fridge or cold water available in such a hot place. No place to hang clothes. Shower water temperature cannot be regulated. Highlight was good food and service at Karoo International restaurant.
Friendly reception, but unfortunately the smell of cigarette smoke is overwhelming throughout the place. The geyser apparently broke, after we asked why there was no hot water. Bathroom curtain is completely transparent to the street. Unacceptable!
The accommodation is clean, tidy with only the essentials to make a one night stay comfortable. The "mall" itself is interesting. Both dinner and breakfast were good. The hospitality was typically rural. At first almost a bit strange, and then as soon as you quickly shake off the city's familiarity, you realize that the fun of just being human is comfortable after all.
Pieter and Elmarie is eccentric and very hospitable. Feels like home away from home. Most delicious food and hospitality. Nice staff too.
After a hot, long dirt road and a flat tire on Verneukpan, our worries were quickly dusted off with the step in at Pieter and Elmarie's ark. Hospitality like only in the Karoo. Felt so at home like family. From the dogs and kittens to the real one, Bianca crawled deep into our hearts and made it hard to say goodbye after one night. We were served delicious lamb pie and a "secret" salad dressing from Elmarie by excellent staff, listened to 80's music together and dusted off our hectic Gauteng lives and for a while became part of people with soul and a fun outlook on life. Als here is unconventional, from Elmarie's painted "Fat Ladies" to Pieter's decor imagination, Cor's "shoppie", oh just als... and then there are still many plans. We can't wait for the "movie" coming out soon with Williston Mall and its colorful characters. We left with more than we arrived.
